Abstract

1,015,676. Valves. PALL CORPORATION. Dec. 22, 1961 [Jan. 13, 1961], No. 46115/61. Heading F2V. In a float-operated valve for discharging fluid from a chamber 10 in response to fluid level therein, the float 30 is connected to the plug-lift valve 53, having fluting around its larger guide barrel 51, by a linkage comprising a hookshaped lever 57 pivoted at 58 adjacent the camshaped hook 59 engaging a valve groove 56, the other end of lever 57 connecting with the float via a link 61 which, with the valve closed, lies at right-angles to the movement axis of float and valve so as to obtain a large initial valve opening force which then gradually diminishes during opening. Fuel enters at 18 and passes through a filter 22 and a coalescer 26 to an outlet 25, water coalescing to form drops which fall into chamber 10.
