Abstract
845,602. Controlling liquid levels. NANNINGA, A. R. Nov. 7, 1957, No. 34714/57. Class 123(1) [Also in Group XI] The level of fuel in a fuel vaporizer 7 is main-. tained at the dotted line by a flow of fuel from a reservoir 3 through a pipe 6 and by a flow of air from the vaporizer 7 to the top of the reservoir 3 through a relief tube 12. The reservoir 3 has two cylinders 4, 5 extending from its upper surface, the smaller one 5 serving as a filling inlet and having a closure 20 carrying a pin 19 which opens a spring closed valve 16 in the pipe 6 leading to the vaporizer when the closure 20 is in position, the larger one 4 having a closed upper end and being connected by the relief tube 12 to the vaporizer and being also connected by two pipes 2, 9 to a fuel tank 1. The level of the fuel in the reservoir 3 is indicated by a rod 22 freely movable in a downwardly extending tube 10 and connected to a float 23. The quantity of fuel in the small cylinder 5 is reduced by making the part of the pin 19 located therein of large volume.
