Abstract

1,011,225. Thermionic valves. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. April 19, 1962 [April 20, 1961], No. 15326/62. Heading H1D. During fabrication of an electron tube frame grid, the side members 23, 24 are preformed with end portions of shape and size for mounting in insulating spacers and the intermediate portions thereof are thereafter deformed to flat portions of a thickness equal to the required grid minor diameter. The cross-straps 36, 38 may be secured to the flat portions 34 as shown, or to the end portions 30, 32 of the side members, or may be integral with side member 23, 24. Flattening of the intermediate portions 34 of the side members also serves to strengthen them, so they may be of stainless steel instead of molybdenum. The grid laterals 40 may comprise individual parallel strands, or a spiral winding.
