Description

FENETRE THERMO ISOLANTE
INSULATING THERMO WINDOW
The invention relates to a thermally insulating window structure, intended more particularly for industrial applications, such as windows for halls, garages, etc.

The thermally insulating windows according to the state of the art for the applications targeted by the present invention are normally constituted by a flat pane of transparent plastic material and a second thermo-formed pane, curved outwards, and glued or welded the lono of its peripheral edges on the flat glass. The structure thus formed is then mounted in its frame by means of profiled rubber bands, receiving on the one hand the welded edges of the window and engaged on the other hand on the frame.

This window according to the state of the art has several drawbacks. In fact, the curved glass being manufactured by thermoforming, therefore using molds, the choice of dimensions of the glass is limited by the availability of molds; an adaptation of the dimensions of such a window, on the basis of a thermally formed glass, to any application case which may arise in practice is not possible. Then, the objective aimed by the use of such a thermally insulating window (which, of course, in principle also has the advantage of an acoustic insulation) is only achieved in an unsatisfactory manner by the fact that the peripheral area of the structure with the sandwiched parts of the two panes and the rubber profile is quite wide and therefore affects the thermal and acoustic insulation qualities of the assembly. Finally, mounting the structure in its frame using the rubber profile is tedious and requires a lot of tenps.

In addition, by the very principle of mounting the structure by a rubber profile, a break-in offers no difficulty. It should also be noted that the rubber profile is normally black in color, so that particular wishes concerning the arbitrary choice of a desired color are not possible.

In order to avoid these disadvantages and disadvantages of the state of the art, the objective of the invention consists in proposing a thermo-insulating window of the kind described in the preamble, the dimensions of which are easily adaptable to all cases of applications, which has optimal insulating qualities, and whose assembly is easy and safe.

This objective is achieved by a thermally insulating window characterized by a frame consisting of several segments cut from a continuous extruded hollow profile and welded together at the corners of the frame, and intended for mounting the window in the opening provided for this purpose, a first plane window attached to the frame in a first plane and a second plane window attached to the frame in a second plane parallel to the first and at a predetermined distance from the first window.

An embodiment of an invention is shown in the accompanying single drawing and will be described later.

The drawing shows a cross section through the window according to the invention with a hollow frame and two flat panes.

The thermally insulating window according to the invention consists of a structure comprising a hollow frame 2, the drawing of which shows the upper 4 and lower 6 transverse parts in section, as well as by a first flat window 8 fixed, for example by gluing, on an inner rim 10 of the frame 2, and a second flat window 12 glued to a wall 14 of the cavity 16 of the hollow frame 2. According to the invention, the frame 2 consists of four segments cut from a continuous extruded hollow profile which are welded together at the four corners of the frame.

The extruded hollow profile preferably consists of PVC.

The structure is fixed in the opening of the wall intended for its reception on one side by an outer rim 18 of the frame 2 applied against one 20 of the lateral sides of the fixing wall 22 and on the other side by a peripheral clip 24 which engages, by means of a toothing 28, in the hollow frame 2 to finally apply against the other 26 of said lateral sides.

The two flat panes 8 and 12 are preferably made of acrylic glass.

The clip 24 is, analogously to the frame 2, constituted by four segments cut from a continuous extruded profile.

By the constitution of both the frame 2 and the clip 24 from segments of continuous extruded profiles, as well as the glazing by flat plates which can be cut from an era plate of practically arbitrary dimensions, the invention therefore makes it possible to satisfy all the practically imaginable wishes concerning the dimensions and forms of the window to constitute.

The drawing for its part clearly shows that from the insulation point of view, optimal conditions could have been achieved by the creation of insulating cavities rigorously giving as far as against the neighboring walls 22. It will further be noted that the structure according to the invention constitutes an assembly very resistant offering increased security against break-ins.

A significant advantage of the invention finally consists in the possibility of being able to offer the user a wide range of colors for the frame 2 and its clip 24, since these elements are no longer made of normally black rubber, but in synthetic material colorable at will.
