Abstract
L'invention concerne l'industrie microbiologique. Elle a pour objet un nouveau métabolite, à savoir le composé M 139.603, de formule moléculaire C35 H 53 O8 Na qui est obtenu par fermentation aérobie d'une nouvelle espèce de Streptomyces, à savoir l'espèce NCIB 11426, outre l'acide libre correspondant de formule C 35 H54 O8 . Le composé M 139.603 réduit la production de méthane lors de la digestion des aliments dans le rumen des ruminants et augmente le rapport propionate : acétate dans le contenu du rumen. Ce nouveau métabolite est donc préféré pour accélérer la croissance des ruminants et/ou améliorer le rendement alimentaire.
