Abstract

L'invention concerne une unité de filtrage pour séparer les leucocytes d'une suspension en contenant. Selon l'invention, on prévoit un récipient pourvu d'au moins un conduit d'entrée et d'au moins un conduit de sortie, ce récipient contenant une masse de fibres n'ayant pas d'effet néfaste sur les leucocytes et autres composants du sang, et possédant un diamètre moyen des fibres de 3 à 10 mu , cette masse de fibres ayant une densité apparente de 0,02 à 0,40 g/cm**3, et ces fibres étant au moins du type choisi dans le groupe consistant en fibre synthétiques, fibres semi-synthétiques, fibres régénérées, et fibres protéinacées naturelles; la courbe jointe montre la dépendance entre le pourcentage de cellules piégées du sang et le diamètre moyen des fibres pour une densité apparente de 0,085 g/cm**3. L'invention s'applique notamment aux transfusions.
