Abstract

A two-stage steam turbine of a large power station has a boiler supplying steam to the first stage. The steam leaving the first stage passes through two reheating coils before reaching the second stage turbine. One reheating coil is heated by a second coil which receives high pressure steam direct from the boiler. This steam is also used to supply heat to the other reheating coil and to reheat the feed-water in a heat exchanger.
