Abstract

1350312 Steam generators WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 3 Feb 1972 [18 March 1971] 5022/72 Heading F4A [Also in Division F1] In a combined gas turbine and steam turbine power plant, a gas turbine power plant (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), has its exhaust used to heat a superheater coil 95 through which saturated vapour is passed to be superheated, there being provided a by-pass conduit 100 to permit a portion of the vapour to by-pass a portion 95b of the superheater coil. Water condensate from steam turbine plant (13) is passed by pump (37) to a de-aerator (42) and thence by way of low pressure boiler (46) and economizer (59) to a high pressure boiler (67) or 93, from which steam passes to superheater coil 95 and by-pass conduit 100. The steam is then fed to high pressure steam turbine (26), its temperature depending upon the setting of by-pass valve 101. Additional heating is provided by auxiliary burners 106.
