Abstract

249,708. Marks, E. C. R., (Schmidtische Heissdampf Ges.). June 10, 1925. Compound engines.-The exhaust steam from the high-pressure stage 9 of an engine is superheated on its way to the low-pressure stage 11 in a superheater 7 which is heated by high-pressure superheated steam from a boiler 2. From the superheater the heating steam passes through a superheater 14 before admission to the high-pressure stage of the engine. In a modification, the heating steam is mixed with boiler steam before passing to the superheater 14.
