Abstract

The system is designed to allow different fuels to be used in a boiler supplying a steam turbo-alternator set. Where such a change gives an increase in boiler output, a second system is also then supplied using fluid such as ammonia subjected to a condensation cycle. The heat source for this cycle is provided by exchange of heat with part of the steam produced in the boiler. Thus the increase in boiler output is made use of without overloading the original turbo-alternator set. The heat for the second cycle may be provided by direct or indirect heat exchange with the steam.
