Abstract

L'énantiomère S du 3-chloro- 1,2- propane-diol est préparé par réaction d'un chlorodésoxysaccharide-D comportant la structure partielle I ci-après, de façon à cliver le glycol, à réduire l'aldéhyde ainsi obtenu pour former un alcool et à hydrolyser l'alcool dans des conditions douces. L'isomère S a une action contraceptive mâle et il est plus actif et moins toxique que le racémique.
