Abstract

L'invention se rapporte aux poudres de microsphéroïdes. Elle concerne une poudre comprenant une pluralité de microsphéroïdes discrets 11 ayant chacun un diamètre moyen d'environ 2 à 50 microns et comprenant une pluralité de particules colloïdales 12 qui forment une matrice poreuse, les pores 14 des microsphéroïdes étant uniformément distribués, caractérisée en ce que les particules colloïdales sont liées ensemble à leurs points de contact par environ 1 à 10 % en poids de silice amorphe non poreuse 13, chaque particule ayant un diamètre moyen d'environ 0,1 à 1,0 micron et comportant une surface de silice et un coeur d'une matière choisie parmi la silice et les oxydes de métaux réfractaires insolubles dans les acides. Application au garnissage de colonne de chromatographie, aux supports de catalyseurs, aux pigments, etc.
