Abstract

A convector room heater has a heating element (8) with a set of tubes heated by hot water, below which are two fans (10, 11) which extract air through holes (5) underneath and discharge it through holes (7) at the top. The heat output is controlled by varying the heat from the element without varying the air flow. A hree way valve (17) mounted near the belt drive (13, 14, 15) for the fans has two ports connected to the input (9) of the heating element. Another port of the valve is connected to the output (10) of the element thus controlling the flow of hot water through it and hence the heat output.
