Abstract
The heat pump consists of a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and an air heated evaporator. The condenser heats water in a primary circuit serving space heaters and a domestic hot water calorifier. There is a bypass on the water side from the flow the return to the condenser. There is a regulating valve in the bypass and a pump between the condenser and the branch to the bypass. The primary water flow is regulated by a thermostatically controlled valve in the primary circuit immediately downstream of the branch to the bypass. As this reduces flow into the primary circuit more water is forced through the bypass.
