Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled apparatus used as a "Kotatsu" (Japanese foot warmer) or the like which is compact and high in its thermal efficiency, by disposing a thermistor type heater element having a positive temperature characteristic at the outlet of a fan, and also disposing at the part of the air passage a damper that is operated by a bimetal according to the temperature of the substance to be heated.
CONSTITUTION: Since the inner temperature of a "Kotatsu" is low at the initial stage of operation, a damper 7 is fully opened, so that all the air flow from a fan 5 is supplied to a heater element 4 and heated by the same. Therefore, the inner temperature is raised rapidly. With the rise of the inner temperature of the "Kotatsu", bimetal 6 causes deformation and the damper 7 is opened according to the magnitude of said deformation of the bimetal 6. Resultantly, the amount of air supplied from the fan 5 passing through the heater element 4 is decreased, and the air flow from fan 5 is partially passed directly to an outlet port 9. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to make the apparatus compact and to improve the thermal efficiency.
