Abstract
500,734. Conditioning grain. DUNLOP, S. (Fioratos, A. G.) Aug. 19, 1937, Ko. 22764. [Class 58] [Also in Group XIII] Grain and seeds are dried by passage down a tower with perforated shelves 12 set at such angles as to enable the grain to flow down in a uniform layer by gravity, imperforate shelves 15, 18<1> set at the same angle to separate an intermediate drying section from a higher heating section and a lower cooling section, inlets 47 for air in one side of the cooling section, which has a duct 48 at the other side leading by a conduit 39 to a fan and an air heater and hence by a conduit 36 to a duct 33 at one side of the drying section, across which air passes tc an outlet duct 34. The tower has an inlet hopper 19, a hot water coil 20 and an outlet hopper 51 with a collar 52 adjustable above a conveyer 53 for regulation of the rate of discharge. The air heater comprises several independently controlled steam radiators. Specification 326,871, [Class 34 (ii)], is referred to.
