Abstract

The neck (1) of the bottle has a slightly raised rim (2) around it a short distance below the lip, leaving a smooth band (3) at the top. A plastics sealing cap (4a) is fitted into the bottle opening, having an annular rim fitting over the lip and a flat top (4). Over this is placed a metal foil seal (5), this being indented onto the bottle neck surface under the sealing cap. the seal fits over the raised rim (2) and is compressed under the bottom (9) of the neck. At rim level are two lines of perforations (6, 7), spaced apart for form a tear-off opening strip (8).
