Abstract

The unbroken cap is made of plastic and has a thin skirt (1) encircling the bottle neck (14) and an annular rib inside preventing its removal. The stopper comprises a flat top (9) with an annular contacting rib (16) contacting the bottle rim (19), and a cylindrical portion (15) which fits inside the bottle neck to close it. Stopper and skirt are joined by a tear off strip (3), with a rib locating in an annular groove (18) near the top of the bottle and lines of perforation on the inside of the skirt and of the stopper. The duty stamp (21) is placed on the skirt and is destroyed when the tear open strip is pulled off.
