Abstract

The cap ensured that the contents of the bottles cannot be tampered with and the bottle reclosed with the same capsule without leaving traces. The cap consists of a cylindrical bung which fits in the neck of the bottle. This cylinder may be hollow and opened at the lower end. The top of the cylinder is flanged and an outer cylinder covers the outside of the nect of the bottle. This has an internal rib (5) which fits in a groove in the bottle neck and secures the cap. The tearaway part of the cap used for opening is torn away by means of a tab cut away in the outer cylinder.
