Abstract

The female connector, for coaxial cables used with radio antennae, consists of an inner split contact tube (22) connected via a tag (28), protruding from one end, to the cable's centre conductor (5), and a larger outer split contact tube (6) connected via a U-shaped collar (8) to the cable's outer conductor (3). The inner contact tube is located inside an insulating tube (13) that fits inside a large outer insulating tube (29) with the outer contact tube sandwiched between the inner and outer insulating tubes. All tubes are coaxial. The outside surface of the outer insulating tube is threaded and has a stepped-down rear end to accept the cable's insulating sleeve (2).
