Förfarande för framställning av vattenlösliga högmoleky-lära akrylpolymerer innehällande i ringa min eller icke alls fria monomerer och lämpliga i synnerhet för behandling av vatten, var-vid man anbringar kontinuerligt och i form av ett tunt skikt pä ett underlag en vattenlösning av en eller flera akrylmonomerer, som innehäller ett fotopolymerisationen befrämjande ämne cirka 0,005- 1 vikt-% beräknat pk mängden av en eller flera monomerer, och varvid pä den tunna vätskefilmen riktas en strälning som har en väglängd av 300-450 ^um, kännetecknat därav, att mono- merlösningen innehäller syre under 1, företrädesvls under 0,5 mg/1, och att besträlningen utförs i tre steg, varvid i det första ste- get den tunna vätskefilmen besträlas under en tid av 1-20, företrä- desvis 3-7 min, varvid den aktiva strälningen har en genomsnittlig 2 effekt av 20-300 W/m , den gasatmosfär som täcker lösningen under fotopolymerisationen har en syrehalt under 5, företrädesvis under 0,5 volym-% och underlaget kyIs för avlägsnande av den värme som utvecklas under polymerisationen; i det andra steget hälls det tunna skikt, vilket under det första steget har börjat polymeri-seras, pä det kylda underlaget i en syrefri gasatmosfär och den besträlas 1-20 företrädesvis 3-10 minuter, varvid den aktiva strälningen har en genomsnittlig effekt över 300 men under 2000 W/m ; det erhällna icke-vätskeformiga, tunna skiktet lösgörs frän underlaget och bringas i kontakt med luft och besträlas i det tred-je steget under en tid av 30 min - 3 h, företrädesvis 40-90 min, varvid den aktiva strälningen har en genomsnittlig effekt av 20 -500 W/m2.
2. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, kännetecknat därav, att pH-värdet i monomerlösningen är 8-13,5 för att erh&lla icke-joniska eller anjoniska polymerer, och 3-6 för att erhälla katjoniska polymerer.
3. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1 eller 2, kännetecknat därav, att kylningen av underlaget i det första och andra steget är sädan, att yttemperaturen av det tunna skikt som skall fotopolymeriseras är under 70°C, företrädesvis under 60°C.
