Abstract
Un método mejorado para fabricar un panel de aislamiento térmico, que comprende las operaciones de mezclar íntimamente un aerogel de sílice microporoso (como se ha definido aquí) con fibras de refuerzo y alúmina, siendo la cantidad de alúmina contenida en la mezcla no superior al 12% en peso, confinar la mezcla dentro de una envolvente porosa y comprimir la envolvente para formar en ella un bloque consolidado de dicha mezcla, haciendo tal compresión que el material de la envolvente quede estirado en un estado de tensión y que penetren partículas de la mezcla en los poros de la envolvente para formar una unión por lo menos parcial con la mismas
