Abstract

Procedimiento de producción de licopeno. La presente invención se refiere a un nuevo procedimiento para la obtención de carotenoides, especialmente licopeno, a partir de cultivos sumergidos de hongos mucorales como Blakeslea. Se describe un método de fermentación que permite obtener un incremento en la producción de licopeno, basado en la adición de ácidos trispóricos. El proceso se lleva a cabo a partir de estirpes silvestres o mutantes de las mismas, en cultivo simple o mixto. La adición de ácidos trispóricos puede hacerse al inicio de la fermentación o durante la misma y su origen puede ser una preparación parcialmente purificada o una fuente no purificada de los mismos.
