Abstract
Un método para seleccionar células vegetales transformadas genéticamente a partir de una población de células, en el que las células vegetales genéticamente transformadas se transforman con una secuencia de nucleótidos expresable deseada que contiene una secuencia reguladora que permite su expresión en las células transformadas y una secuencia de nucleótidos expresable co-introducida que también contiene una secuencia reguladora que permite su expresión en las células transformadas, método que comprende suministrar a dicha población un compuesto que puede ser metabolizado por el producto de expresión de la secuencia de nucleótidos expresable co-introducida que se ha introducido con la secuencia de nucleótidos expresable deseada en dichas células transformadas, a fin de proporcionar a las células transformadas una ventaja fisiológica cuando se comparan con las células no transformadas, en el cual el compuesto no es un antibiótico o herbicida, y no tiene efecto desfavorable directo alguno sobre las células no transformadas.
