EL PRODUCTO DE DIOXIDO DE MANGANESO RESULTANTE TIENE FORMA DE PARTICULAS QUE SE CARACTERIZAN PORQUE TIENEN UNAS PROTUSIONES TIPO FILAMENTOS QUE SOBRESALEN DE SU SUPERFICIE. LAS PARTICULAS DE DIOXIDO DE MANGANESO CON UNAS CARACTERISTICAS SUPERFICIALES TALES SE PUEDEN PRODUCIR HACIENDO REACCIONAR SULFATO DE MANGANESO CON PEROXODISULFATO SODICO EN UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA. EL PROCESO SE PUEDE CONTROLAR DE TAL MODO QUE SE OBTENGA DIOXIDO DE MANGANESO DE ALTA DENSIDAD. EL DIOXIDO DE MANGANESO FORMADO DURANTE EL PROCESO SE PUEDE DEPOSITAR DIRECTAMENTE SOBRE LA SUPERFICIE DE DIOXIDO DE MANGANESO ELECTROLITICO (EMD). EL PRODUCTO DE DIOXIDO DE MANGANESO ES PARTICULARMENTE ADECUADO PARA UTILIZARLO A MODO DE MATERIAL CATODICO ACTIVO EN CELULAS ELECTROQUIMICAS.
