Abstract

La invención se relaciona a la fabricación de dióxido manganeso por un proceso químico. El producto de dióxido de manganeso resultante toma la forma de partículas, caracterizado por proyecciones tipo filamento que sobresalen de su superficie. El el proceso puede controlarse para dar por resultado dióxido de manganeso de alta densidad. El dióxido de manganeso formado en el proceso puede depositarse directamente en la superficie del dióxido de manganeso electrolítico (EMD). El producto dióxido de manganeso es particularmente conveniente para emplear como material activo de cátodo en celdas electroquímicas.
