SE PRESENTA UN METODO PARA GRANULAR UNA CORRIENTE DE METAL FUNDIDO QUE ES OBLIGADO A CAER AL INTERIOR DE UN BAÑO DE REFRIGERANTE LIQUIDO QUE ESTA SITUADO EN UN TANQUE. LA CORRIENTE DE METAL SE DIVIDE EN GOTITAS EN EL BAÑO DE LIQUIDO REFRIGERANTE, QUE SE SOLIDIFICAN Y FORMAN GRANULOS SOLIDOS. UN FLUJO SUBSTANCIALMENTE UNIFORME DE LIQUIDO REFRIGERANTE SE OBLIGA A FLUIR DESDE UNA DE LAS PAREDES LATERALES EN EL TANQUE EN FORMA SUBSTANCIALMENTE PERPENDICULAR EN CONTRA DE LA CORRIENTE DE METAL QUE CAE. DICHO FLUJO DE LIQUIDO REFRIGERANTE TIENE UNA VELOCIDAD INFERIOR 0.1 M/SEGUNDO. LA DISTANCIA DESDE LA SALIDA DEL METAL FUNDIDO HASTA LA SUPERFICIE DEL BAÑO DEL LIQUIDO REFRIGERANTE SE MANTIENE POR DEBAJO A 100 VECES EL DIAMETRO DE LA CORRIENTE DE METAL.
