Description
Dispositivo de soldadura longitudinal en
continuo para máquinas envasadoras.

La presente invención se refiere a un
dispositivo de soldadura longitudinal en continuo para máquinas
envasadoras, que presenta unas particularidades constructivas
orientadas a permitir su actuación de forma continuada sobre las
caras o laterales opuestos de las capas de material a soldar,
realizando la unión o soldadura en continuo de las mismas, a medida
que avanzan por el interior del dispositivo de soldadura, mientras
éste permanece estático, es decir, sin posibilidad de desplazamiento
en la dirección de avance de las capas de material a soldar.
Este dispositivo de soldadura es aplicable en
máquinas envasadoras capaces de conformar envases en continuo a
partir de dos o más capas de material termo soldable.
Actualmente son ampliamente conocidas en el
mercado diferentes tipos de máquinas envasadoras que conforman
envases en continuo a partir de una o más láminas de material termo
soldable, siendo estos envases llenados con el producto a envasar y
posteriormente sellados convenientemente.
Habitualmente estas máquinas envasadoras
comprenden unos dispositivos de soldadura compuestos por unos
soldadores calefaccionados asociados a unas mordazas de
accionamiento que realizan alternativamente movimientos de apertura
y de cierre. Durante el cierre de las mordazas los soldadores
calefaccionados actúan sobre las capas superpuestas de material a
soldar provocando su unión por soldadura.
Los dispositivos de soldadura estáticos, es
decir, imposibilitados de desplazamiento en la dirección de avance
de las capas de material a soldar, requieren que las láminas o capas
de material confortantes del envase se desplacen de forma
intermitente, realizándose la soldadura cuando se detiene el avance
de las capas de material a soldar. Obviamente este tipo de
soldadores impide un funcionamiento realmente en continuo dé la
máquina envasadora.
También son conocidos los dispositivos de
soldadura provistos de soldadores calefaccionados asociados a unas
mordazas de apertura y cierre, al igual que los anteriores, pero que
pueden desplazarse longitudinalmente de forma alternativa,
acompañando las capas de material a unir durante la realización de
la soldadura y retornando en una posición de apertura al punto de
partida para iniciar un nuevo ciclo de soldadura.
Estos dispositivos de soldadura, posibilitados
de desplazamiento alternativo en dirección longitudinal si bien
permiten trabajar en continuo tienen una producción limitada, debido
precisamente a la complejidad de los mecanismos necesarios para
provocar el avance y retroceso rápido del dispositivo de soldadura y
a las inercias que provoca dicho movimiento.
Cabe mencionar que estos dispositivos de
soldadura, de mordazas calefaccionadas, se utilizan tanto para
formar las soldaduras perimetrales del envase, horizontales y
verticales, como para unir otras capas de materiales, por ejemplo
las superficies o caras laterales de los envases con elementos
continuos de cierre, a modo de labios complementarios que
posibilitan sucesivas aperturas y cierres del envase una vez abierto
éste.
Por tanto, los dispositivos de soldadura
mencionados anteriormente presentan el inconveniente de limitar la
capacidad de producción de las máquinas envasadoras y un problema
adicional consistente en que la posible existencia de residuos o
partículas de material a envasar en la zona o zonas en las que se
producirá la soldadura impiden, especialmente en el caso de los
líquidos, que las mordazas calefaccionadas proporcionen un cierre
estanco del envase. Esta problemática es perfectamente conocida por
los fabricantes de máquinas envasadoras, especialmente cuando se
envasan productos líquidos o pastosos, o productos granulados.
Además de la problemática anteriormente
expuesta, cabe mencionar que las soldaduras más problemáticas a
realizar en los envases son las que se encuentran orientadas en
dirección longitudinal es decir en la dirección de avance de los
envases, ya que estas soldaduras presentan una longitud mayor que
las soldaduras verticales, que pueden realizarse con una mayor
facilidad y en un menor tiempo debido a su menor longitud en la
dirección de avance de los envases.
Por tanto, el problema técnico que se plantea es
un dispositivo de soldadura longitudinal en continuo para máquinas
envasadoras que permita realizar dicha soldadura longitudinal en
continuo es decir sin necesidad de que las capas de material a
soldar describan movimientos intermitentes
paro-avance y sin necesidad de que el dispositivo de
soldadura describa movimientos longitudinales de avance y
retroceso.
Otro de los objetivos de la invención es
permitir que el dispositivo de soldadura longitudinal en continuo
establezca una soldadura adecuada de las capas de material a unir,
ya sean las caras opuestas del envase entre sí o la soldadura sobre
dichas caras de medios de cierre complementarios por ejemplo tipo
cremallera, con independencia que existan restos de los materiales a
envasar entre las capas de material a soldar.

El dispositivo de soldadura longitudinal en
continuo para máquinas envasadoras de esta invención comprende al
menos una pieza de apoyo de las capas de material a soldar en
continuo y al menos un soldador ultrasónico provisto de un
sonotrodo, encontrándose dicho sonotrodo y dicha pieza de apoyo
enfrentados horizontalmente, dispuestos a los laterales opuestos de
la trayectoria de avance longitudinal de las capas de material a
soldar en continuo por el interior de la máquina envasadora, e
imposibilitados de desplazamiento en el sentido de avance
longitudinal de dichas capas de material a soldar.
El mencionado dispositivo comprende
adicionalmente al menos un elemento posicionador para la disposición
del dispositivo de soldadura en una posición inoperante en la que el
soldador y la pieza de apoyo se mantienen distanciados
horizontalmente, o en una posición operativa de soldadura en la qué
el sonotrodo y la pieza de apoyo se mantienen muy próximos entre sí;
y al menos un empujador elástico que actúa sobre el soldador y/o la
pieza de apoyo y tiende a presionarlos sobre los laterales opuestos
de las capas de material a soldar en continuo.
El elemento posicionador permite situar el
dispositivo de soldadura en una posición inoperante en la que el
sonotrodo y la pieza de apoyo se mantienen distanciados, con el fin
de facilitar el posicionamiento entre los mismos de las capas de
material a soldar en continuo, permitiendo dicho elemento
posicionador disponer a continuación el dispositivo soldadura en la
posición operativa de soldadura mencionada anteriormente.
El empujador elástico encargado de provocar que
el soldador y la pieza de apoyo ejerzan una presión sobre los
laterales opuestos de las capas de material a soldar en continuo
resulta de una importancia vital para un correcto funcionamiento del
dispositivo de soldadura de la invención, ya que dicho empujador
elástico permite que la separación entre el soldador y la pieza de
apoyo varíe con una frecuencia muy elevada, por la propia acción del
sonotrodo, permitiendo que las capas de material a soldar avancen
por el espacio comprendido entre la pieza de apoyo y el sonotrodo a
medida que éstos realizan la soldadura de ambas capas de
material.
Cabe mencionar que la inexistencia de este
empujador elástico o de otro medio equivalente impediría la
soldadura en continuo de las capas de material ya que éstas
quedarían atrapadas y sin posibilidad de desplazamiento longitudinal
entre la pieza de apoyo y el sonotrodo, en el caso de que éstos se
presionaran sobre las capas de material y se mantuvieran en posición
presionada sin posibilidad e movimiento relativo alguno en dirección
transversal, es decir en la dirección de aproximación y alejamiento
mutuo.
La utilización de un soldador ultrasónico en
este dispositivo de soldadura longitudinal en continuo presenta
además la ventaja de que las propias vibraciones generadas por el
sonotrodo provocan la eliminación de cualquier partícula de producto
que pudiera quedar alojada entre las capas de material a soldar,
garantizándose de este modo la obtención de una correcta soldadura
de las mencionadas capas de material.
El sonotrodo y/o la superficie de apoyo de las
capas de material a soldar disponen en su superficie frontal de unos
relieves longitudinales, orientados en la dirección de avance en
continuo de las capas de material a soldar lo que garantiza la
formación de varias líneas paralelas por ultrasonidos.
Este dispositivo permite la soldadura de dos
capas de material mediante la utilización de un soldador ultrasónico
y la correspondiente pieza de apoyo enfrentada, incluyendo la
invención una realización en la que el dispositivo de soldadura
comprende dos soldadores ultrasónicos con respectivos sonotrodos
enfrentados a las caras opuestas de una pieza de apoyo;
encontrándose definidos entre la pieza de apoyo y los sonotrodos
sendos pasajes para la circulación de dos grupos de capas de
material a soldar en continuo, y de forma simultanea, por los
respectivos soldadores ultrasónicos. Esta realización tiene diversas
aplicaciones en máquinas envasadoras en las que durante la
conformación de un envase se suelda a cada uno de los laterales del
mismo una capa adicional de material por ejemplo los labios
complementarios de un cierre removible tipo cremallera,
"Zipper®" o similar. En la mencionada realización del
dispositivo con dos soldadores ultrasónicos enfrentados a las caras
opuestas de una pieza de apoyo, la mencionada pieza de apoyo
presenta en las caras opuestas unos canales longitudinales para el
guiado de al menos una de las capas de material a soldar por cada
uno de los sonotrodos.
Para complementar la descripción que se está
realizando y con objeto de facilitar la comprensión de las
características de la invención, se acompaña a la presente memoria
descriptiva un juego de dibujos en los que, con carácter ilustrativo
y no limitativo, se ha representado lo siguiente:
- La figura 1 muestra una vista esquemática en
alzado de un ejemplo de realización del dispositivo do soldadura
longitudinal en continuo para máquinas envasadoras según la
invención, en posición operativa, que comprende en este caso de una
pieza de apoyo de las capas de material a soldar y un soldador
ultrasónico enfrentado con aquella.
- La figura 2 muestra un detalle ampliado de los
extremos enfrentados del sonotrodo y de la pieza de apoyo del
dispositivo de la figura anterior en posición operativa.

- La figura 2a muestra el detalle ampliado de la
figura anterior con el sonotrodo y la pieza de apoyo distanciados en
posición horizontal, en una posición inoperante del dispositivo de
soldadura.
- La figura 3 muestra una vista en alzado de una
variante de realización del dispositivo de soldadura según la
invención, parcialmente seccionado, comprendiendo una pieza de apoyo
y dos soldadores ultrasónicos, con los sonotrodos enfrentados a los
laterales opuestos de dicha pieza de apoyo, realizando el
dispositivo la soldadura de los labios complementarios de un cierre
tipo cremallera sobre las respectivas superficies o caras laterales
de un envase; y un detalle ampliado de los extremos opuestos de los
sonotrodos enfrentados con la pieza de apoyo de las capas de
material a soldar.
- La figura 3a muestra un detalle ampliado,
análogo al de la figura anterior, con los sonotrodos distanciados
horizontalmente de la pieza de apoyo, en una posición inoperante del
dispositivo de soldadura y con las láminas de material a soldar
distanciadas horizontalmente para facilitar su observación.
- La figura 4 muestra una vista en planta
superior del dispositivo de soldadura de la figura 3.
En el ejemplo de realización mostrado en fas
figuras 1, 2 y 2a el dispositivo de soldadura comprende una pieza
(1) de apoyo de las capas de material (M) a soldar, que en este
ejemplo son las superficies opuestas de un envase fabricado en
continuo; y un soldador ultrasónico (2) cuyo sonotrodo (21) se
encuentra enfrentado horizontalmente a la pieza de apoyo (1). El
dispositivo comprende un posicionador (3) representado en este caso
por un cilindro neumático que permite separar la pieza de apoyo (1)
del sonotrodo (21), disponiendo al dispositivo de soldadura en una
posición inoperante representada en la figura 2a; o aproximar la
pieza de apoyo (1) al sonotrodo (21) en una posición operativa del
dispositivo de soldadura, representada en las figuras 1 y 2.
Adicionalmente el dispositivo comprende un
empujador elástico (4), representado en la figura 1, constituido en
este caso por un resorte helicoidal que actúa sobre la pieza de
apoyo (1) y que presiona las capas de material (M) a soldar contra
el sonotrodo (21); este empujador elástico (4) permite que durante
la soldadura la pieza de apoyo (1) describa pequeños movimientos de
aproximación y alejamiento respecto al sonotrodo (21): debido a la
propia vibración de este último, lo que posibilita que las capas de
material (M) a soldar puedan desplazarse longitudinalmente a lo
largo de la máquina envasadora durante la soldadura.
Como se puede observar en la figuras 2 y 2a, la
pieza de apoyo (1) presenta en su superficie frontal unos relieves
longitudinales (11) orientados en la dirección de avance en continuo
de las capas de material (M) a soldar; en la realización concreta
mostrada en las figuras 1 y 2 el dispositivo de soldadura se ha
representado en una posición operativa durante el cierre de la boca
superior de un envase producido en continuo en una envasadora
horizontal. En la figura 2a el dispositivo de soldadura se ha
representado en la posición inoperante.
En el ejemplo de realización mostrado en las
figuras 3, 3a y 4 el dispositivo de soldadura comprende dos
soldadores ultrasónicos (2, 2:) cuyos sonotrodos (21) se encuentran
enfrentados a las caras opuestas ele una pieza de apoyo (1) de las
capas de material (M) a soldar por los respectivos sonotrodos
(21).
En este ejemplo de realización el dispositivo
comprende dos elementos posicionadores (3) constituidos en este caso
por sendas excéntricas que al ser accionadas manualmente provocan la
aproximación o alejamiento de los sonotrodos (21) a las
correspondientes caras enfrentadas de la pieza de apoyo (1);
adicionalmente este dispositivo comprende un empujador elástico (4)
representado en este caso por unos muelles helicoidales que actúan
sobre los respectivos soldadores ultrasónicos (2, 2') tendiendo a
presionar los respectivos sonotrodos (21) contra las capas del
material (M) a soldar que se encuentran apoyadas sobre las caras
opuestas de la pieza de apoyo (1).
Entre la pieza de apoyo (1) y los sonotrodos
(21) se encuentran definidos sendos pasajes (5), referenciados en la
figura 3a, para la circulación de dos grupos de capas de material
(M) a soldar en continuo, y de forma simultánea, por los respectivos
soldadores.
En este ejemplo de realización la pieza de apoyo
(1) dispone en las caras opuestas unos canales longitudinales (12,
13) para el guiado de una de las capas de material (M) a soldar por
cada uno de los sonotrodos (21) de los soldadores ultrasónicos (2,
2'); en este caso concreto una de las capas de material está
constituida por uno de los labios complementarios (L1, L2) de un
cierre tipo cremallera o "Zipper®" y por una de las caras o
superficies de un envase conformado en continuo.
En esta segunda realización el dispositivo
permite realizar en continuo y de forma simultanea dos soldaduras
paralelas uniendo las piezas complementarías de un cierre con los
respectivos laterales del envase.
Una vez descrita suficientemente la naturaleza
de la invención, así como un ejemplo de realización preferente, se
hace constar a los efectos oportunos que los materiales, forma;
tamaño y disposición de los elementos descritos podrán ser
modificados, siempre y cuando ello no suponga una alteración de las
características esenciales de la invención que se reivindican a
continuación.
Claims (4)
1. Dispositivo de soldadura longitudinal en
continuo para máquinas envasadoras; caracterizado porque
comprende al menos: - una pieza de apoyo (1) de las capas de
material a soldar en continuo, y - al menos un soldador ultrasónico
(2) provisto de un sonotrodo (21), encontrándose dicho sonotrodo (2)
y dicha pieza de apoyo (1) enfrentados horizontalmente, dispuestos a
los laterales opuestos de la trayectoria de avance longitudinal de
las capas de material (M) a soldar en continuo por el interior de la
máquina envasadora, e imposibilitados de desplazamiento el sentido
de avance longitudinal de las capas de material (M); - al menos un
elemento posicionador (3) para la disposición del dispositivo de
soldadura en una posición inoperante, en la que el sonotrodo (21)
del soldador y la pieza de apoyo (1) se mantienen distanciados
horizontalmente, o en una posición operativa de soldadura en la que
el sonotrodo (21) y la pieza de apoyo (1) se mantienen muy próximos
entre sí y: - al menos un empujador elástico (4) que actúa sobre el
soldador (2) y/o la pieza de apoyo (1) y tiende a presionarlos sobre
los laterales opuestos de las capas del material (M) a soldar en
continuo.
2. Dispositivo según la reivindicación 1,
caracterizado porque el sonotrodo (21) y/o la superficie de
apoyo (1) de las capas de material (M) a soldar disponen en su
superficie frontal de unos relieves (11) longitudinales orientados
en la dirección de avance en continuo de las capas de material (M) a
soldar.
3. Dispositivo según cualquiera de las
reivindicaciones anteriores, caracterizado porque comprende
dos soldadores ultrasónicos (2, 2') con respectivos sonotrodos (21)
enfrentados a las caras opuestas de una pieza de apoyo (1),
encontrándose definidos entre la pieza de apoyo (1) y los sonotrodos
