  1. Method of washing an inking unit in a printing press wherein a washing agent is introduced into the inking unit and a roller (4, 9) of the inking unit is driven exclusively by roller friction,
    characterized
    in that the rotary speed of the roller (4, 9) is monitored by a sensor (2, 8) of a control (5) and in that the control (5) reduces or stops the introduction of the washing agent when the control (5) realizes that the rotary speed drops below a rotary speed threshold.
