Claims (6)

  1. Process for automatically controlled washing of at least a part of a printing unit of an offset printing press in which at least one printing unit comprises as its parts blanket and impression cylinder, an inking unit and, if necessary, a damping unit, and in which the control of at least one washing device, which is fitted to at least one of the parts, takes place especially with respect to the frequency of washing dependent on characteristic values which are derived from functions of the printing unit and/or generated for its control,
    characterised in that first an ink usage of the printing unit arising during the press running is determined in accordance with the values of at least one characteristic quantity of the ink metering and that from the ink usage determined in this fashion, the frequency and/or type of the washing process is determined.
