Abstract

The cleaning system uses a washing roller (2) or a washing cloth, brought into contact with the surface of the cylinder to be cleaned. At the beginning of each new cleaning cycle the time interval since the last cleaning cycle and the counted number of printed sheets are used to determine the quantity of supplied cleaning fluid and the number of cleaning cycles. Pref. the next cleaning of the cylinder is initiated in dependence on the number of printed sheets and the amount of cleaning fluid is determined independence on the elapsed time from the last cleaning cycle.

Description

The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for cleaning of a cylinder of a rotary printing press. The invention is particularly suitable for cleaning blanket cylinders, Impression cylinders as well as plate cylinders or forme cylinders, for example in a painting unit.

AS 1 150 098 discloses a washing device with a washing roller known that the cleaning of the outer surface of a printing cylinder serves. According to EP 0 004 605 A1, one is in one Washing device mounted on a pivot joint with a washing roller is known, a control curve in the area of the gripper of the printing cylinder having. This control curve is used to attach the pressure cylinder employed washing roller from the outer surface of the cylinder in one defined angle so that the washing roller does not match the Gripper collides.

It is disadvantageous that the amount of detergent in the uncontrolled Washing cycle is introduced. This leads to over-humidification of the Washing rollers with detergent or the washing roller is too dry at insufficient detergent supply. In case of over-humidification, a lot becomes unnecessarily Detergent consumed and the drying times of the cylinder surface are high or the cylinder jacket is not sufficient dry. This leads to different washing results that differ has a negative impact on the print quality of subsequent sheets.

Another cleaning device for cylinders of a printing press is from DE 4301410A1 known. The cleaning device has one directed towards the cylinder Spray device that has an upstream storage line. The storage line has switching valves which can be controlled depending on parameters and operating states are.

A spray dampening unit for cylinders of a printing press is known from WO 91/13760, which can also be operated with detergent. The valves for the detergent supply are switched by a control unit. To do this, the number of cylinder revolutions detected.

Ultimately, EP 0654350 A1 describes a method for cleaning cylinders Printing machine known. To determine the optimal wash cycle program, this is past print volume or the degree of contamination or the length of the interval taken into account as an operating parameter since the last wash.

The object of the invention is to provide a method and an arrangement develop that always by a controlled detergent supply approximately the same degree of moisture in a washing roller or a washcloth at the start of the wash. This will be solved by the characterizing part of claims 1 and 3. Further training results from the subclaims.

With the solution according to the invention there is an optimal washing effect achieved with minimal detergent and water consumption. At the start the time and, if necessary, the number of prints Sheet determined for the previous washing process. Depending on the past time and, if applicable, the number of previously printed sheets the amount of detergent and / or water is controlled by a controller with which a uniform, predetermined level of moisture the washing roller or washcloth before starting achieved the cylinder surface in the pre-wetting phase becomes. When placing the washing roller / washcloth on the one to be cleaned Cylinder then each washing process with the same degree of moisture of washing roller or washcloth. This reduces the consumption of detergent and water. The previously known drying out of Wash roller / wash cloth due to different lengths of breaks between the washing processes in which evaporation occurs thereby eliminated. The control can be time-dependent and / or also depending on the number of sheets printed, the length of the washing process establish. So after setting up the press or if the number of runs is small, the washing time is shorter chosen. Subsequent to high circulation numbers becomes a temporal longer washing process selected.

The invention will be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment. It shows
Fig. 1
a printing unit of a rotary printing press coupled with a controller.

In Fig. 1 is a printing unit of a multi-color rotary printing machine shown schematically. It essentially consists of one Printing cylinder 1, a transfer drum 3 in the direction of sheet travel is upstream. In a manner known per se, the printing cylinder 1 a blanket cylinder 4 adjacent, which with a plate cylinder 5th is in contact. The plate cylinder 5 has a dampening system and an inking unit, which are not shown here. The blanket cylinder 4 and the pressure cylinder 1 is assigned a washing device 2. The washing device 2 extends over the respective Width of the cylinder 1, 4 and consists essentially of one Housing which has a washing roller, e.g. a wash brush rotatable records. In the housing are for the controlled supply of detergent and water spray devices arranged. The spray devices are connected in terms of circuitry to a controller. This Control is in turn circuitry with a time determination and a sheet counter coupled. The washing roller has one separate drive and is constantly engaged with a squeegee. At the lowest point of the housing is a drain for the fluid Detergent and water provided. The washing device 2 has for starting and stopping and lifting the device from one Cylinder channel or two on the frame side of a gripper bridge articulated working cylinders. Preferred detergents are biological detergents based on vegetable oil esters.

The mode of action is as follows:
Each washing device 2 is normally in the parked position. Only a device 2 on the blanket cylinder 4 is considered. The operation of the device 2 on the impression cylinder is analogous to this. At the beginning of a washing process, the electronic control interrogates the time determiner and the sheet counter. The time determiner indicates the time from the previous washing process. The sheet counter indicates the number of sheets printed since the previous washing process. Both values are processed by the control and, accordingly, the amount of detergent and water required to pre-wet the washing device 2 is supplied. The degree of evaporation of detergent and water from the washing device 2 and thus also the degree of moisture of the washing roller can be assessed using the criterion of time. If the time difference between the last washing process and the beginning washing process is relatively large, the washing device 2, here the washing roller, is pre-moistened with more detergent and water. If the time difference between the last washing process and the beginning washing process is smaller, the washing device 2, here the washing roller, is pre-moistened with less detergent and water. The degree of soiling of the cylinder to be cleaned, here of the blanket cylinder 4, can be assessed via the criterion of the number of sheets. If the number of printed sheets is high, the sequence of the specified washing process is repeated several times. If the number of printed sheets is small, for example when setting up, a shorter washing process is carried out. The control system can also only query the time determiner at the beginning of a washing process for the purpose of controlling the detergent and water supply. Each washing process therefore always begins with the same moisture content in the washing roller when the time-keeping device is queried. The detergent and water consumption can thus be reduced and the risk of the washing device starting dry when it is placed against a blanket cylinder 4 is avoided.
