Definitions
- the invention relates to a set of floor panels with a first floor panel, which has a first holding profile on one side edge, and with a second floor panel, which has a second holding profile on one side edge, which is connected to the first holding profile by a substantially vertically directed downward movement of the second Floor panels can be connected.
- the clip is essentially L-shaped and has a horizontal leg and a vertical leg. At an upper end of the vertical leg is a locking tab, which during the downward movement of the second floor profile down and in the direction of the vertical leg is pressed. After the downward movement of the second floor panel has taken place, the latching tab snaps back and reaches a locking position in which the latching tab lies in a locking groove of the second holding profile. In this locking position of the locking tab, it is not possible to raise the second holding profile again relative to the first holding profile. The two retaining profiles are thus locked in the vertical direction.
- the separate clip of EP 1 159 497 B1 also has a further extension which is connected to an end of the horizontal leg which is remote from the vertical leg. This additional extension ensures that the clip is held in the clip groove and does not fall out.
- the L-shaped clip Similar to the EP 1 159 497 B1 the L-shaped clip also ensures the DE 20 2009 004 530 U1 for a vertical locking of interconnected retaining profiles of floor panels.
- the vertical leg of the clip is arranged in a clip groove of one of the retaining profiles and extends over the entire height of this clip groove.
- the DE 10 2005 002 297 A1 also discloses an L-shaped clip whose legs nestle against the boundary walls of the clip groove.
- the DE 10 2005 002 297 A1 discloses all the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- the DE 20 2007 000 310 U1 also discloses floor panels with retaining profiles and separate clip for vertical locking.
- the clip has in addition to the movable locking tab on an insertion section in a separate recess of the clip groove sits. So that the clip does not fall out of the clip groove, the insertion section must be pressed into the recess or glued in place, which means additional assembly work.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a set of floor panels with retaining profiles and a separate clip for vertical locking, which can be easily manufactured and connected.
- the invention in the inserted state of the clip in the clip groove of the horizontal leg a clamping force is generated, by which the upper end of the vertical leg is pressed against an upper boundary wall of the clip groove.
- the clip is clamped in the clip groove in the vertical direction, which practically eliminates the risk of it falling out of the clip groove when laying or otherwise handling the floor panels. Due to the system of the upper end of the vertical leg on the upper boundary wall of the clip groove, the position of the clip within the clip groove is precisely specified, so that the clip with the movable locking tab can reliably reach the locking position when the second floor panel is moved downwards.
- the term "vertical leg” does not exclude the vertical leg being inclined relative to the vertical, ie to the normal of the laying plane.
- the angle of inclination to the vertical can be less than 15 or 10°.
- the horizontal leg can have an angle of inclination different from 0 to the horizontal or to the laying plane. In one embodiment, the angle of inclination of the horizontal leg to the horizontal is less than 20 or 15°.
- the upper boundary wall of the clip groove extends essentially in the horizontal direction.
- An angle of inclination of the upper boundary wall to the horizontal or to the laying plane is preferably less than 15° or even 10°.
- a claw element is provided at the upper end of the vertical leg, which is held tightly to the upper boundary wall of the clip groove.
- the claw element can function as a barb that cuts into and hooks into the material in which the clip groove is formed.
- the claw element or the barb should prevent that after inserting the clip in the clip groove, the clip slips sideways out of the clip groove with the upper end of the vertical leg.
- the horizontal leg of the clip is supported with an outer end on a lower boundary wall of the clip groove.
- the horizontal leg In the inserted state of the clip, the horizontal leg is subjected to bending stress and is therefore deformed like a cantilever or bending beam under load. If a straight horizontal leg is assumed in the unloaded state, the horizontal leg is bent or curved in the inserted state in the clip groove, ie in the loaded state.
- the lower boundary wall is at a distance from the upper boundary wall and preferably has a similar inclination to the horizontal or to the laying plane as the upper boundary wall. In one embodiment, the lower boundary wall and the upper boundary wall are parallel to each other.
- a free space between a lower side of the horizontal leg and the lower boundary wall of the clip groove, which, seen in the horizontal direction, extends continuously from the outer end of the horizontal leg to the vertical leg.
- a continuous free space is given when the horizontal leg rests only with its outer end on the lower boundary wall and otherwise has no contact with the lower boundary wall of the clip.
- a height of the free space can increase continuously starting from the outer end of the horizontal leg and assume its maximum at the vertical leg or in its vicinity.
- the clip groove has an outer boundary wall on which the outer end of the horizontal leg is supported in the horizontal direction. It is thus possible to fix or brace the clip in the clip groove not only in the vertical direction (between the lower boundary wall and the upper boundary wall) but also in the horizontal direction.
- a ratio of a length of the horizontal leg to a length of the vertical leg can assume values between 0.8 and 1.2.
- the vertical leg and horizontal leg are approximately the same length (in this case, this means that the above ratio has the value 1 or deviates only slightly from it (values between 0.9 and 1.1).
- the first floor panel can have a thickness of 4 to 12 mm, with the length of the vertical leg being 30 to 60% of the thickness. For example, if the thickness of the floor panel is 8 mm, the vertical leg can be 2.4 to 4.8 mm long.
- the first floor panel and the second floor panel are preferably structurally identical floor panels, so that the above statements or the following statements regarding the first floor panel should also apply to the second floor panel.
- the first floor panel can be equipped with the first holding profile on a first side edge and with the second holding profile on a second side edge opposite the first side edge.
- An angle between the horizontal leg and the vertical leg can be greater than 90° when the clip is in the clip groove.
- the angle between the horizontal leg and the vertical leg is greater than the corresponding angle when the clip is inserted into the clip groove, since the horizontal leg is deformed in the direction of the vertical leg when it is inserted into the clip groove.
- the angle between the horizontal leg and the vertical leg can assume values between 100 and 120°.
- the second retaining profile has a downwardly directed hook element, which forms an approximately vertically extending locking surface for the horizontal locking of the floor panels.
- An angle of inclination of the locking surface to the vertical is preferably less than 10°.
- the first retaining profile has a lower lip and an upwardly projecting shoulder, which forms a locking surface that also runs approximately vertically for direct contact with the locking surface of the hook element.
- the locking surface of the shoulder and the locking surface of the hook element preferably rest on one another over their entire surface.
- a locking groove with a contact surface for the locking tab can be molded into the hook element of the second retaining profile. In the locking position, the locking tab rests against the contact surface of the locking groove.
- the contact surface can have an angle of between 30 and 60° to the laying plane.
- the contact surface of the locking groove is not a vertical or substantially vertically aligned surface, but a surface that is clearly inclined to the vertical. Preferred values for this angle are between 40 and 50°.
- the first floor panel can have a third holding profile on a further side edge and the second floor panel can have a fourth holding profile on a further side edge, it being possible for the third holding profile to be connected to the fourth holding profile to form a vertical locking and a horizontal locking of these holding profiles.
- the third holding profile and the fourth holding profile can be designed in such a way that the second floor panel can be connected to the first floor panel and to a third floor panel of the same construction at the same time by a single pivoting movement.
- the method of laying with such a pivoting movement is also known as the fold-down laying technique.
- the floor panels at all Side edges can be connected with a vertically directed downward movement.
- the first floor panel preferably has a rectangular basic shape, with the first retaining profile and the second retaining profile being able to be arranged on opposite short side edges, while the third retaining profile and the fourth retaining profile can be arranged on opposite long side edges.
- a length of the long side edges can be 50 cm to 2.40 m.
- a length of the short side edges can assume values between 10 and 40 cm.
- the first retaining profile and the second retaining profile can be molded into a core layer of the first floor panel.
- the core layer can be made of wood-based materials such as MDF or HDF or plastic such as PU or PVC.
- the plastic can be filled with mineral fillers such as chalk.
- a decorative layer which can comprise a decorative paper or a decorative film, can be provided above the core layer.
- the decorative layer can also just be a digital print that is applied to the core layer.
- the decorative layer can include one or more wear layers that protect the decorative foil, the decorative paper or the decorative print.
- a balancing layer and/or a soundproofing layer can be provided underneath the core layer. It is also conceivable that a soft or elastic layer is provided between the decorative layer and the core layer for (additional) soundproofing.
- the clip can be made of plastic, which can be produced by an extrusion process.
- Preferred plastics are acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers (ABS).
- figure 1 shows a detail of a first floor panel, which is denoted by 1.
- the first floor panel 1 has a first holding profile 10 on a side edge.
- the first retaining profile 10 is connected to a second retaining profile 30 of a second floor panel 3, which is also only shown in detail.
- the first retaining profile 10 has a lower lip 11 and an adjoining, upwardly projecting shoulder 12 which forms an approximately vertical locking surface 13 .
- a separate clip or a separate locking element 50 is inserted in a clip groove 14 and has a horizontal leg 51 , a vertical leg 52 and a locking tab 53 .
- the latching tab 53 attaches to an upper end 54 of the vertical leg 52 .
- the upper end 54 of the vertical leg 52 rests against an upper boundary wall 15 of the clip groove 14 .
- the boundary wall 15 runs horizontally here, i.e. parallel to the laying plane E. In the laying plane E there is an upper outer surface 1a of the first floor panel 1 and an upper outer surface 3a of the second floor element 3.
- the clip groove 14 has a lower boundary wall 16 on which the horizontal leg 51 is supported.
- the horizontal leg 51 is supported with an outer end 55 on the lower boundary wall 16 .
- the vertical distance between the upper boundary wall 15 and the lower boundary wall 16 of the clip groove 14 is dimensioned such that the horizontal leg 51 is deformed when the clip 50 is inserted into the clip groove. Due to the elasticity of the material from which the clip 50 is, a clamping force is thus generated in the horizontal leg 51, through which the vertical leg 52 and the locking tab 53 upwards against the upper Boundary wall 15 are pressed.
- the deformed horizontal leg 51 thus acts like a compression spring which presses against the vertical leg 52 from below.
- the position of the vertical leg 52 and the position of the locking tab 53 within the clip groove 14 and thus the position of the locking tab 53 relative to the first holding element 10 is precisely defined. Irrespective of the fact that the distance between the upper boundary wall 15 and the lower boundary wall 14 can vary slightly due to manufacturing tolerances and regardless of the fact that the dimensions of the clip 50 can also vary slightly due to manufacturing reasons, the upper end 54 and the latching tab 53 always lie with one another certain bias at the upper limit of 15 of the clip groove 14.
- a claw element 56 is provided at the upper end 54 of the vertical leg 52 and prevents the upper end 54 of the vertical leg 52 and the locking tab 53 from slipping out of the clip groove 14 laterally.
- a free space 18 results between an underside of the horizontal leg 51 and the lower boundary wall 16 of the clip groove, which space extends continuously from the outer end 55 of the horizontal leg 51 to the vertical leg 52 .
- a height of this free space 18 increases continuously, starting at 0 in the area of the outer end 55 in the direction of the vertical leg 52 .
- the free space 18 makes it clear that the horizontal leg 51 is in contact with the lower boundary wall 16 only with its outer end 55 .
- the clip groove 14 has an inner boundary wall 19 against which the vertical leg 52 bears laterally.
- the horizontal limb 51 acts as a compression spring, by means of which the vertical limb 52 is pressed laterally against the inner boundary wall 19 .
- the horizontal leg 51 or more specifically its deformation in The inserted state of the clip 50 in the clip groove 14 ensures that the position of the vertical leg 52 with the locking tab 53 is precisely defined both in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction relative to the outer boundary wall 53 and the inner boundary wall 19 of the clip groove 14.
- the second retaining profile 30 of the second floor panel 3 comprises a downwardly directed hook element 31, in which a locking groove 32 with a contact surface 33, the locking tab 53 is formed.
- An angle of inclination of this contact surface 53 to the laying plane E is in a range from 42 to 48°.
- the second retaining profile 30 also forms an approximately vertical locking surface 34 which bears against the locking surface 13 of the first retaining profile 10 .
- the interaction of the locking surfaces 34 and 13, the retaining profiles 10, 30 and thus the floor panels 1, 3 are locked together in the horizontal direction.
- the interaction of the contact surface 33 of the second holding profile 30 and the locking tab 53 ensures that the holding profiles 10, 30 or the floor panels 1, 3 are locked in place vertically.
- the first floor panel 1 is first laid so that it lies in the laying plane E with its upper outer surface 1a.
- the second floor panel 3 is then positioned in such a way that the second holding profile 30 is arranged exactly above the first holding profile 10 .
- the second floor panel 3 with the second retaining profile 30 is then moved vertically downwards, in which case a lower outer corner 35 of the second holding profile 30, which has a chamfer in the embodiment shown here, presses against the locking tab 53.
- the latching tab 53 is pivoted in the direction of the vertical leg 52 so that the hook element 31 can be guided further down past the latching tab 53 .
- the downward vertical movement of the second floor panel 3a can be a linear downward movement or a pivoting movement which moves the holding profiles 10, 30 like the two pawls of a pair of scissors towards one another.
- the latter type of connection of the holding profiles 10, 30 is given in the fold-down laying technique, for example from the WO 01/75247 A1 is known.
- the first retaining profile 10 is formed into a core layer 1b of the first floor panel, for example by milling.
- the claw element 56 described above cuts into the material of the core layer (for example MDF, HDF, plastic such as PU or PVC, WPC etc.).
- a decorative layer 1c which in turn can consist of various layers such as decorative foil/decorative paper, utility or wear layer, etc., is shown purely schematically above the core layer 1b.
- a backing layer 1d which can be single-layered or multi-layered, is arranged—also only indicated—underneath the core layer 1b.
- the backing layer 1d can function as a counteract for the decorative layer 1c and/or as an insulating layer.
- the second floor panel has the same layer structure as the first floor panel (see layers 3c, 3b and 3d).
- FIGS. 2A and 2B show the clip 50 on its own and in a non-deformed state.
- an angle 57 between the vertical leg 52 and the horizontal leg 51 is larger than in the state in which the clip 50 is clamped in the clip groove 14 .
- Figure 2B shows the central axis 58 of the non-deformed horizontal leg 51 as a dot-dash line and also as a dash-dotted line shows the central axis 59 of the deformed or bent horizontal leg 51. It is clear from this that the horizontal leg 51 behaves like a cantilever beam which is subjected to a force at its outer end and deforms accordingly.
- the horizontal leg 51 In the clamped state of the clip 50 in the clip groove 14, the horizontal leg 51 is therefore no longer straight as in the unloaded state, but is curved.
- the locking tab 53 and the horizontal leg 51 are each backed by hatching.
- the latching tab 53 is first pivoted in the direction of the vertical leg 52 and then snaps back again in order to reach the locking position.
- the upper end 54 of the vertical leg 52 is mainly deformed.
- This elastic deformation of the upper end 54 causes the locking tab 53 to snap back into the locking groove 32 .
- the locking tab 53 is not deformed or is hardly deformed. Rather, it is to be designed in such a way that it fulfills the task of vertical locking and does not deform or buckle when the contact surface 33 presses against the locking tab 53 from below when the holding profiles 10, 30 are in the connected state.
- Out of Figure 2A also shows the length L1 for the horizontal leg 51 and the length L2 for the vertical leg 52.
- the length L1 is in a range from 3.5 to 3.9 mm
- the length L2 is in a range from 2.9 to 3.3 mm.
- the ratio L1/L2 is between 1 and 1.1.
Description

- In
