Description
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Bereitstellung eines neuen Hybridfettes mit niedrigen Reibwerten und hohem Verschleißschutz, das in einem weiten Temperaturbereich eingesetzt werden kann. Das neue Hybridfett basiert auf einer Kombination von einem Fett auf Basis eines Silikonöls in Verbindung mit einem Fett auf Basis von synthetischen Kohlenwasserstoffölen oder Polyglykolen. Insbesondere kann das neue Hybridfett zur Schmierung von Gelenken in Fahrzeugteilen auf der Basis von Kunststoff-Stahl-Paarungen verwendet werden, des weiteren zur Anwendung in Aktuatoren, die in Fahrzeugen zunehmend Einsatz finden, wie beispielsweise in Bremsen, Bremskraftverstärkern, Lenkunterstützung (EPS) sowie Fensterhebern.
- Besonders niedrige Reibwerte, die zudem sehr konstant über einen weiten Temperaturbereich aufrechterhalten werden können, werden mit einem Schmierstoff auf Basis Silikonöl erreicht. Zur weiteren Verbesserung des Reibwertes und Stick-Slip-Verhaltens ist eine hohe Grundölviskosität erforderlich. Silikonfette, insbesondere diejenigen auf Basis von Polydimethysiloxan haben einen sehr hohen Viskositätsindex sowie einen niedrigen Stockpunkt. Damit können die oben beschriebenen Eigenschaften erreicht werden. Die Fettzusammensetzungen auf Basis von Silikonölen zeigen jedoch Schwächen im Verschleißschutz, insbesondere bei hoch belasteten Anwendungen, wie beispielsweise hoch verspannten Fahrwerksgelenken.
- Ein hoher Verschleißschutz wird unter anderem mit Fetten auf Basis von Mineralölen, synthetischen Kohlenwasserstoffen, wie PAO, Ester, Polyglykol oder PFPE erreicht. Um einen weiten Temperaturbereich abzudecken, sind Grundöle mit einem möglichst hohen Viskositätsindex und einem niedrigen Stockpunkt erforderlich. PFPE als Grundöl kommt aufgrund der hohen Kosten für viele Anwendungen nicht in Frage. Selbst mit den aktuellen Entwicklungen auf Basis synthetischer Kohlenwasserstoffe, z.B. m-PAOs (Metallocen-PAO) lässt sich dieses Ziel nur begrenzt erreichen. Um mit Systemen auf der Basis von synthetischen Kohlenwasserstoffen einen niedrigen Reibwert zu erzielen, sind Additive, wie z.B. PTFE erforderlich, was jedoch zu sehr hohen Rohstoffkosten führt.
- Aus der
WO 2104/028632 A1 sind Schmiermittelzusammensetzungen bekannt, die als Basisöl ein silikonölfreies Öl und ein Silikonöl enthalten, wobei das Silikonöl ein öllöslisches Öl ist und ausgewählt wird aus Ethylsilikon, Oktylsilikon. Des weiteren werden als Verdickungsmittel Lithiumseifen genannt. - Die
US 4 251 431 B beschreibt die Herstellung von Ölen auf Basis von PFPE mit Methylpolysiloxanen als Hybridfette, wobei die beiden Ölphasen unlöslich sind. - Auch die
EP 0 657 524 B1 beschreibt die Mischung von PFPE-Ölen mit einer weiteren PFPE unlöslichen Ölkomponente. - Die
WO 2013/010851 A1 offenbart eine Schmierstoffzusammensetzung, die zwei Bestandteile aufweist, einen niedrigviskosen Bestandteil zusammen mit einem hochviskosen Bestandteil, der bei niedrigen Temperaturen von dem niedrigviskosen Bestandteil abscheidbar ist und bei hohen Temperaturen gleichmäßig wird. - Die
WO 2008/037885 A2 betrifft ein hoch-kohäsives Silikonfett, das mindestens ein ölhaltiges Diorganopolysiloxanpolymer, bezogen auf das Gewicht des Silikonfetts 10 bis 30 Gew.-% mindestens einer metallorganischen Seife, und 1 bis 10 Gew.-% mindestens eines Paraffins umfasst, wobei das Fett dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass das Paraffin halogenfrei, insbesondere chlorfrei ist und im Wesentlichen aus Kohlenwasserstoffen besteht, die linear sind und aus der Erdöldestillation gewonnen werden. - Die
CN-B-101 870 905 betrifft Schmierfette auf der Basis von organischen Silikonen, wie Methylsilikon, die mit Aerosil/SiO2 verdickt werden. - Die
CN-A-105 907 446 beschreibt ebenfalls Schmierfette auf der Basis von Silikonölen, wie Polydimethylsiloxan, die mit PTFE als Verdickungsmittel verdickt werden. - Die bekannten Hybridfette beziehen sich auf die Abmischung von PFPE-Fetten oder Ölen mit anderen in PFPE-freien Schmierfetten sowie auf nicht mischbare Zusammensetzungen.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung zielt daher darauf ab, eine Schmierstoffzusammensetzung bereitzustellen, die den oben genannten Anforderungen genügt, insbesondere in einem weiteren Temperaturbereich von -50°C bis +160°C anwendbar ist und dabei niedrige Reibwerte, sowie lange Laufzeiten und im wesentlichen keine Verschleißerscheinungen bei den Bauteilen bewirkt.
- Hierzu wird erfindungsgemäß ein Hybridfett bestehend aus einer Mischung aus einem Fett auf Basis eines Silkonöls mit einem Fett oder Öl auf Basis eines synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföls oder Polyglykolöls und einem Verdickungsmittel und üblichen Additiven bereitgestellt. Entscheidend ist, dass die beiden Basisöle bzw. Ölphasen nicht miteinander mischbar sind.
- In "Synthetic Lubricants and High Performance Functional fluids" (Editor R. L. Shubkin), Marcel Dekker Inc, New York, Basel, Hong Kong 1993, ISBN 0-8247-8715-3 finden sich Angaben zu den typischen PAO (Seite 1 bis 40), zu Silikonölen (S. 183 bis 203) und Polyglykolen (S. 101 bis 123). Metallocen katalysierte PAO wurden beispielsweise von ExxonMobil im Rahmen eines Vortrages ("The influence of Molecular Structure on the Properties of Polyalphaolefins", Autoren Bruce Harrington, Sandy Reid-Peters) auf dem 19th Internationalen Tribologie Kolloquium in Esslingen (21. bis 23.Januar 2014) vorgestellt.
- In Ullmanns Encyklopädie der technischen Chemie, 4., neubearbeitete und erweiterte Auflagen, Verlag Chemie, 1981, Band 20 finden sich im Beitrag "Schmierstoff und verwandte Produkte", (Seite 457 bis 671) von D. Klamman ebenfalls Angaben zu Silikonölen (S. 523 bis 525). Die Viskosität der Öle kann dabei von 18 mm2/s bis 20000 mm2/s bei 40°C betragen.
- Normalerweise ist es nicht möglich ein Silikonöl mit einem synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföl zu mischen. Überraschenderweise lassen sich aber Fette mischen, die auf unmischbaren Grundölen aufgebaut sind, wie z.B. als Silikonöl Polydimethysiloxan und als synthetischen Kohlenwasserstoff, z.B. PAO. Diese können so gemischt werden, dass ein homogener Schmierstoff entsteht. Außerdem ist es möglich einen Ansatz mit Silikonöl als Basisöl und Verdicker herzustellen und das synthetische Kohlenwasserstofföl als Mischkomponente analog einem Additiv zuzugeben. Ebenfalls möglich ist es, einen Ansatz mit synthetischem Kohlenwasserstofföl als Basisöl und Verdicker herzustellen und nur das Silikonöl als Mischkomponente analog einem Additiv zuzugeben. Die Mischung kann mit Rührwerken wie sie in der Herstellung von Schmierfetten dem Stand der Technik entsprechen gefertigt werden. Nach dem Mischen kann ein nachgeschalteter Homogenisierungsprozessschritt, beispielsweise mittels Mahlwerk (Kolloidmühle), Walzwerk oder Hochdruckhomogenisator erfolgen. Der so hergestellte Schmierstoff zeigt alle oben geforderten und gewünschten Eigenschaften.
- Das Silikonöl wird ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Polydimethylsiloxan, Polyphenylmethylsiloxan oder Mischungen aus beiden Ölen. Das synthetische Kohlenwasserstofföl wird ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus PAO, Mischungen aus PAO und Olefincopolymeren, Mischungen aus PAO und Polyisobutylen. Das Verdickungsmittel ist ein Seifenverdickungsmittel und wird ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Lithium-12-hydroxystearat und Lithiumstearat.
- Des weiteren können übliche Additive wie Antioxidantien, Korrosionsschutzmittel sowie ein Festschmierstoff in dem erfindungsgemäßen Hybridfett enthalten sein.
- Für das erfindungsgemäße Hybridfett werden
- (A) 10 bis 50 Gew.-% eines Fettes auf Basis eines synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföls oder Polyglykol enthaltend 50 bis 90 Gew.-% Grundöl, ausgewählt aus synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföl, PAO, Mineralöl oder Polyglykol, 10 bis 25 Gew.-% Verdickungsmittel, 0 bis 10 Gew.-% Additive mit
- (B) 50 bis 90 Gew.-% eines Silikonfetts, enthaltend 70 bis 90 Gew.-% Silikonöl 5 bis 30 Gew.-% Verdickungsmittel sowie bis zu 0 bis 10 Gew.-% Additive, gemischt,
- Wahlweise kann die Komponente (A) Festschmierstoff enthalten. Festschmierstoffe können zum Beispiel PTFE, Graphit, Molybdändisulfid, Melamincyanurat und Mischungen daraus sein.
- Insbesondere bevorzugt werden für das erfindungsgemäße Hybridfett
- (A) 10 bis 20 Gew.-% eines Fettes enthaltend 70 bis 90 Gew.-% Grundöl, ausgewählt aus synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföl oder Polyglykol, 10 bis 20 Gew.-% Verdickungsmittel, 1 bis 7 Gew.-% Additive mit
- (B) 80 bis 90 Gew.-% eines Silikonfetts, enthaltend 70 bis 80 Gew.-% Polydimethylsiloxan, bis zu 30 Gew.-% Verdickungsmittel sowie 1 bis 10 Gew.% Additive, gemischt,
- Besonders bevorzugt ist ein Hybridfett, bei dem als synthetische Kohlenwasserstoffe PAO, mPAO, Ethylen, LAO Copolymere verwendet werden.

Abbildung 1 zeigt den Aufbau einer Vorrichtung zur Bestimmung der Reibwerte anhand einer Drehmomentprüfung in einem Kugelgelenk. -
Abbildung 2 zeigt beispielhaft den zeitlichen Verlauf der Messung der Vorrichtung inAbbildung 1 . -
Abbildung 3 zeigt die Vorrichtung zur Bestimmung des Verschleißschutzes anhand einer Verschleißschutzprüfung in einem Kugelgelenk. - Die Erfindung wird nun durch die folgenden Beispiele näher erläutert.
- Es wird ein Standardherstellverfahren nach dem Stand der Technik für Schmierfette eingesetzt.
- Das Grundöl bzw. ein Teil des Grundöles oder Ölgemisches wird in einem geeigneten heizbaren Behälter mit Rührwerk, wie er dem Stand der Technik für die Herstellung von Schmierfetten genutzt wird, vorgelegt. Darin erfolgt die Herstellung des Verdickers, wie beispielsweise die Neutralisation von Stearinsäure oder 12-OH-Stearinsäure mit Lithiumhydroxid und anschließender Heizphase zur Entfernung des Wassers sowie zur Ausbildung der Verdickerstruktur. Als Spitzentemperaturen können bis zu 210°C erreicht werden, um den Seifenverdicker komplett aufzuschmelzen und anschließend durch gezieltes Abkühlen die Morphologie des Verdickers einzustellen. In der anschließenden Abkühlphase werden die Additive zugegeben und homogen verteilt. Außerdem ist es möglich einen Ansatz mit Silikonöl als Basisöl und Verdicker herzustellen und das synthetische Kohlenwasserstofföl als Mischkomponente analog einem Additiv zuzugeben. Ebenfalls möglich ist es einen Ansatz mit synthetischem Kohlenwasserstofföl als Basisöl und Verdicker herzustellen und nur das Silikonöl als Mischkomponente analog einem Additiv zuzugeben. Im Anschluss erfolgt ein Homogenisierungsprozess z.B. über ein Walzwerk oder eine Kolloidmühle oder einem Hochdruckhomogenisator wie es nach dem Stand der Technik für die Herstellung von Schmierfetten üblich ist.
- Nach dem oben beschriebenen Verfahren wurden die in Tabelle 1 gezeigten Fettkomponenten (A) und (B) hergestellt. Alle Angaben sind in Gew.-%.

Außerdem ist es möglich einen Ansatz mit Silikonöl als Basisöl und Verdicker herzustellen und das synthetische Kohlenwasserstofföl als Mischkomponente analog einem Additiv zuzugeben. Ebenfalls möglich ist es, einen Ansatz mit synthetischem Kohlenwasserstofföl als Basisöl und Verdicker herzustellen und nur das Silikonöl als Mischkomponente analog einem Additiv zuzugeben. Nach dem Mischen kann ein nachgeschalteter Homogenisierungsprozessschritt beispielsweise mittels Mahlwerk (Kolloidmühle) Walzwerk oder Hochdruckhomogenisator erfolgen.
- Nach diesem Verfahren wurden die erfindungsgemäßen Hybridfette aus den Komponenten (A) und (B) hergestellt, die in Tabelle 2 gezeigt sind. Alle Angaben sind in Gew.-%.

KW/PAO Fett B - 20% 10% Silikonfett 80% 80% 90% - Zur Bestimmung der Reibwerte anhand einer Drehmomentprüfung in einem Kugelgelenk wurde das nachfolgend beschriebene Prüfverfahren verwendet. Der Aufbau der Prüfanlage ist in
Abbildung 1 gezeigt. - Zum Einsatz kamen Kugelgelenke, wie sie im Fahrwerk von Fahrzeugen serienmäßig verbaut werden. Die Kugeln sind aus Stahl mit einen Durchmessen von 23 mm. Die Stahlkugel wird mit einer Kunststoffschale aus POM (Polyoxymethylen) umschlossen. Zwischen der Kunststoffschale und der Stahlkugel wird der Schmierstoff eingebracht. Anschließend wird die POM-Schale mit der Kugel in einem Gehäuse formschlüssig eingebracht. Das Gehäuse wird so verpresst, dass eine bestimmte Kraft auf das System aus Schale und Kugel ausgeübt wird. Im vorliegenden Beispiel liegt die Flächenpressung bei ca. 1 N/mm2.
- Tabelle 3 zeigt die Ergebnisse der Bestimmung der Reibwerte anhand einer Drehmomentprüfung.

Die niedrigen Lösemomente sowie Laufmomente des Silikonfettes über den gesamten Temperaturbereich konnten insbesondere mit den Hybridfetten B und C besonders vorteilhaft erreicht und zum Teil sogar noch übertroffen, d.h. erniedrigt werden.
- Die Verschleißprüfung wurde in einem Kugelgelenk durchgeführt.
- Das beschriebene Kugelgelenk wird durch eine Vorrichtung mit einer Last von 3240N beaufschlagt. Die Vorrichtung ist beweglich gelagert, so dass die Kugel in der POM-Schale gekippt werden kann. Die Kippbewegung wird mit einer Auslenkung von 3° und einer Frequenz von 15 Hz durchgeführt. In regelmäßigen Abständen wird die Bewegung angehalten und durch Entlastung sowie Umkehrung der Last wird das durch den Verschleiß entstandene Spiel ermittelt.
- Der Aufbau der Apparatur zur Verschleißschutzprüfung ist in
Abbildung 3 gezeigt. - Das Ergebnis der Verschleißprüfung ist in Tabelle 4 gezeigt.
- Ausgewertet wurde der Verschleißweg des Gelenkes nach 1,1 Mio. Lastwechseln

Insbesondere mit dem Hybridfette B konnte ein sehr gutes Verschleißniveau erreicht werden.
Claims (7)
- Hybridfett umfassend(A) 10 bis 50 Gew.-% eines Fettes auf Basis eines synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföls oder Polyglykols, enthaltend 50 bis 90 Gew.-% Grundöl, ausgewählt aus synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföl, PAO, oder Polyglykol, 10 bis 25 Gew.-% Verdickungsmittel, 0 bis 10 Gew.-% Additive und(B) 50 bis 90 Gew.-% eines Silikonfetts, enthaltend 70 bis 90 Gew.-% Silkonöl ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Polydimethylsiloxan, Polyphenylmethylsiloxan oder Mischungen daraus, 5 bis 30 Gew.-% Verdickungsmittel sowie 0 bis 10 Gew.-% Additive,wobei das Verdickungsmittel ein Seifenverdickungsmittel ist und ausgewählt wird aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Lithium-12-hydroxystearat und Lithiumstearat.
- Hybridfett nach Anspruch 1 insbesondere umfassend(A) 10 bis 20 Gew.-% eines Fettes auf Basis eines synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföls oder Poyglykols enthaltend 70 bis 80 Gew.-% Grundöl, ausgewählt aus synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföl, PAO, oder Polyglykol, 10 bis 20 Gew.-% Verdickungsmittel, 1 bis 7 Gew.-% Additive und(B) 80 bis 90 Gew.-% eines Silikonfetts enthaltend 70 bis 80 Gew.-% Silkonöl ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Polydimethylsiloxan, Polyphenylmethylsiloxan oder Mischungen daraus, 10 bis 30 Gew.-% Verdickungsmittel sowie 1 bis 10 Gew.-% Additive,wobei das Verdickungsmittel ein Seifenverdickungsmittel ist und ausgewählt wird aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Lithium-12-hydroxystearat und Lithiumstearat.
- Hybridfett nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, das des weiteren in der Komponente (A) ein Festschmierstoff enthalten ist.
- Hybridfett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, das als synthetisches Kohlenwasserstofföl ein Öl ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus PAO, Mischungen aus PAO und Olefincopolymeren, Mischungen aus PAO und Polyisobutylen enthält.
- Verwendung des Hybridfetts nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4 zur Schmierung von Gelenken im Fahrzeugbereich.
- Verwendung des Hybridfetts nach Anspruch 5 zur Schmierung von Gelenken auf der Basis von Kunststoff/Stahl-Paarungen.
- Verwendung des Hybridfetts nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4 zur Schmierung von Aktuatoren, wie sie in Fahrzeugen für die Lenkunterstützung (EPS), Bremsenaktuatoren, Bremskraftverstärkern, Fensterhebern zum Einsatz kommen.
