Definitions

  • the invention relates to a labeling device for applying labels to containers, having the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • Labeling devices are usually used to provide containers, such as cans, tubes, plastic or glass bottles, with labels that designate and/or advertise the contents of the container.
  • a labeling device usually comprises an unwinding unit for receiving one or more supply rolls with a label strip, a drive unit with a driven conveyor roller for driving the unwound label strip and a processing unit.
  • the processing unit is designed, for example, with a cutting device, a gripper cylinder and a gluing unit, with which the strip of labels is cut into individual labels, glued and then transferred to the containers.
  • Such a labeling device is, for example, from DE 20 2005 002793 U1 or the DE 299 04 561 U1 known.
  • the drive unit is usually arranged as close as possible to the cutting device.
  • threading in the label tape is made more difficult by these spatial conditions, which is necessary, for example, with every brand change.
  • the US 4,533,586A discloses the subject-matter of the preamble of claim 1 having a web of adhesive labels.
  • the DE 29 02 315 A1 discloses a labeling device and a shape cutting device therefor.
  • the object of the present invention to provide a labeling device for applying labels to containers, with which the threading of the label strip is made easier.
  • the invention provides a labeling device for applying labels to containers with the features of claim 1.
  • the drive unit includes the plastic guide element with the guide surface directed towards the conveyor roller, which is formed in an arc around the conveyor roller, means that the shape of the plastic guide element can be particularly well adapted to the guide function.
  • the label strip has a particularly low tendency to adhere to the plastic guide element due to the plastic material. Consequently it will The label strip is guided particularly well around the conveyor roller by the plastic guide element during threading, which makes threading easier.
  • the labeling device can be arranged in a beverage processing plant.
