Definitions

  • the invention relates to a blank for producing an outer packaging, comprising: at least four regions each having a rear wall, one of
  • Rear wall associated bottom surface and at least one of the rear wall
  • each rear wall has four sides, wherein each rear wall is connected at one of its sides along a fold line with its associated bottom surface, wherein each rear wall connected at one of its sides along a arranged on a central axis fold line with a rear wall of an adjacent region wherein each backplane is connected along at least one of its sides along a fold line to its associated inner side surface, and wherein the at least one inner side surface of a region is connected along a fold line to an inner side surface of an adjacent region.
  • the invention also relates to a method for producing an outer packaging from such a blank as well as a packaging system comprising such outer packaging.
  • Ümverpackungen are known from the field of packaging technology.
  • Packagings are packaging whose intended contents are other packagings. Packs are therefore also referred to as primary packaging and Ümverpackungen as secondary packaging.
  • An outer packaging according to the invention is particularly suitable as a secondary packaging for beverage cartons made of composite material. Overpacks, for example, have the purpose of combining several packages into units in order to be able to stack them more easily on pallets or the like. Another function of Ümverpackungen lies in it, the packages contained in the outer packaging and their contents
  • outer packaging also facilitates the transport of goods that are typically not purchased separately.
  • Blanks are flat webs that have been cut or punched into a specific shape.
  • the defined shape of the blanks ensures that an outer packaging can be produced from the blanks by means of various folding processes.
  • the shape of the blank therefore determines the shape of the producible from the blank overpack.
  • FEFCO Federation Europeenne of Fabricants de Carton Ondule - European Association of Corrugated Board Manufacturers
  • ESBO European Solid Board Organization
  • the outer packaging is characterized mainly by a low material requirement and ease of manufacture.
  • a disadvantage, however, is the relatively low carrying capacity of this outer packaging, so that when stacking a plurality of outer packaging almost the entire load has to be carried by the packages standing in the outer packaging.
  • outer packaging for containers is known, for example, from JP 2007-008491 A.
  • the outer packaging is produced from two blanks wherein a lower part is folded from the first blank and wherein an inner part is folded from the second blank. The inner part is then inserted into the lower part.
  • the resulting overpack can accommodate six containers that stand on the base and are held laterally by the inner part in position.
  • Umverpackonnet be moved laterally relative to each other, whereby the stack could fall over.
  • the transport of the outer packaging is difficult. This is because the inner part is only loosely inserted into the lower part, so that the outer packaging can be raised only on the lower part. Consequently, no carrying handle or the like is provided on the inner part.
  • the outer packages shown have the disadvantage that the containers standing in the outer packaging are concealed in their lower area by a circumferential front wall. This makes it difficult for customers to provide product information on the
  • Another outer packaging is known from US 4,119,202. This intended for receiving two canisters outer packaging can be made easier because it can be folded from a single blank.
  • the one-piece design of the blank also has the advantage that the bottom surfaces of the outer packaging are firmly connected to the side and back surfaces of the outer packaging, so that the outer packaging can be lifted and transported via a handle opening provided in the back surfaces.
  • Several outer packaging can be combined by a plastic film into units.
  • the outer packaging shown in US 4,119,202 also has a flat top and a flat bottom. This has the disadvantage already described above that stacked outer packages are laterally displaceable. Due to the lack of lateral support there is the danger of falling stacks. Another disadvantage is that the outer packaging take only two canisters can. In addition, these outer packages also have circumferential front walls which hide the lower areas of the canisters standing in the outer packaging. These outer packages are therefore intended primarily for transport purposes and hardly suitable for the presentation of the canisters. Finally, another disadvantage is that these outer packages are difficult to machine due to the complicated folds of the bottom area.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object to design the blank described above and previously explained in such a way and further that the foldable from the blank outer packaging can be safely stacked on each other and are suitable for presentation of the packs contained in the outer packaging.
  • this object is achieved in that the inner side surfaces are spaced from the central axis, so that an offset arises between the inner side surfaces and the central axis.
  • Cuttings according to the invention can theoretically be divided into several areas. Each of these areas includes a back wall, a bottom surface, and at least one interior side surface. Under inner side surfaces become
  • Fold lines to facilitate the folding of the blank can be realized, for example, by a material weakening, in particular by a perforation or an embossing or creasing of the blank.
  • the blank according to the invention outer packages can be obtained with very high load capacity, since after folding several vertical walls are double-walled: First, the back walls of one side the blank after folding along the central axis applied to the back walls of the other side of the blank. Second, after the blank has been folded, the inner side surfaces of each region are applied to the inner side surfaces of the adjacent region. In this way, both rear walls and inner side surfaces with double wall thickness are achieved. In particular, the double-walled design of the inner side surfaces increases the carrying capacity of the foldable from the blank outer packaging in the vertical direction, which
  • the stackability of the outer packaging improved.
  • Overpacks of blanks according to the invention can - especially due to the
  • double-walled design - compared to standard outer packaging have increased by at least 30%, in particular by at least 40% increased load capacity.
  • the distance between the inner side surfaces and the central axis - ie by the "offset" - ensures that after folding the upper edges of the rear walls extending along the central axis project in a vertical direction beyond the upper edges of the inner side surfaces a

  • An inventive blank has in the folded state - ie as outer packaging - a particularly high load capacity in the vertical direction.
  • the high load-bearing capacity has been demonstrated for example by the experiments described below.
  • the carrying capacity is determined on the basis of the standard DIN EN ISO 12048 ("ready-to-ship packages, compression and stacking tests using a compression testing machine", December edition)
  • the outer packagings are placed between two pressure plates and an increasing load is applied until failure occurs ("compression test" in accordance with points 3a and 7.1 of the above-mentioned standard.)

  • the length of the offset is at least 10 mm and in particular in the range of 10 mm to 40 mm
  • the length of the offset corresponds to the depth of the positive connection. at an offset of 30 mm can therefore be pushed up to 30 mm between the rear walls of an upper outer packaging, the upper edges of the rear walls of a lower outer packaging.
  • An offset of between 10mm and 40mm provides an optimal compromise between easy stackability (better with shorter misalignment) and a secure positive connection (better with longer misalignment).
  • a further embodiment of the invention provides that the blank is formed in one piece.

  • the blank is made of paper or cardboard, in particular of corrugated cardboard.
  • Paper, cardboard and corrugated board are characterized by low costs and good suitability for recycling (recycling).
  • Corrugated board is produced by gluing together smooth and corrugated webs of paper and, despite its low density, has a high degree of strength, making corrugated cardboard very light yet robust
  • the blank may for example be made of corrugated board according to the standard DIN 55468, Part 1, August 2004 issue (there in particular shaft B or shaft E). Corrugated cardboard whose wave and cover papers have a thickness in the range between 100 g / m 2 and 140 g / m 2 have proven to be particularly advantageous. Abstract
