L'invention concerne une machine à laver (1) comportant un tambour (2) monté rotatif dans une cuve à lessive (3) et destiné à contenir des pièces de linge (7) à traiter, la machine comprenant un système d'amenée d'eau (8, 10), un dispositif de commande (12), un réservoir d'eau (29) et un organe de production de gouttes d'eau (18, 22), l'organe de production de gouttes d'eau (18, 22) présentant un nébuliseur à ultrasons (18) qui est disposé dans le réservoir d'eau (29). L'invention concerne aussi un procédé pour traiter des pièces de linge (7) dans cette machine à laver.
