Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for producing a security document, a method for connecting at least one connection tab to a document sheet, which can be attached to the security document, and a security document.
  • the security document may be, for example, a passport, identity card, driver's license, access control card, vehicle registration document, vehicle registration document, visa or other ID document, checkbook, gift or shopping voucher, bill of lading or other credentials or any other ID document.
  • the document is a passport or identity card.
  • Such security documents may in particular be passport documents, which are typically in booklet or book form and in which an information-storing document sheet is connected to the document.
  • the document sheet is, for example, a passport card, which is incorporated in a passport document.
  • the passbook card contains personalization data and other data, such as information about the issuing body.
  • the passport card must be connected to the other sides of the passport document in such a way that a third party can not separate the card from the document in order to prevent a falsification or falsification of the document. Nevertheless, if such forgeries or falsifications are made to the document, they must be readily recognizable.
  • a booklet with a personalized data sheet is in EP 1 502 765 A1 described.
  • This booklet has several sheets between an envelope.
  • the data sheet is firmly attached to the envelope of the booklet. It has a flexible layer that protrudes with an area from the data sheet.
  • the datasheet is connected to the envelope and the remaining sheets at this area.
  • the attachment portion comprises a support layer formed, for example, as a film, and a net-like structure.
  • EP 2 479 038 describes a security document and a method for its manufacture.
  • a multilayer interconnection element whose contact layer is thermally attached to a data side is made of the same material as the data side.
  • a similar object shows the WO2007 / 114700 A1 in which also a fiber-reinforced hinge portion is attached to a stiff so-called owner side of a plastic.
  • WO 2007/054618 A1 shows an information page to which a flexible connection portion is attached. This is preferably formed from a network.

  • through holes are introduced into the card body along an edge of the card body.
  • the card body is disposed between the two tab strips so that the through holes are respectively covered on both sides of the card body.
  • the tab strips are bonded to the card body by introducing ultrasonic energy at the locations of the through holes by making connections between the two tab strips through the through holes. As a result, the tab strips are positively connected to the card body.
  • the document card thus produced is then inserted over the tab strips in the security document executed as a book.
  • the known methods it is possible to integrate a data card in a book or book-shaped security document.
  • the known manufacturing methods do not yet meet the requirements placed on them: Firstly, the method must be simple to carry out in order to produce the security document at low cost and with high yield. Furthermore, it has also been found that the thus prepared book or book-shaped documents easily lock, i. that they remain in an approximately half-open state without the action of an external force, and that they can only be fully opened by the application of an external force. However, it is advantageous if the document is closed without application of an external force or remains in the fully open state. Of course, it must also be demanded that the security document must be largely forgery-proof and tamper-proof.
  • the terms 'document' and 'security document' are used in this description and in the claims, this includes, in particular, a passport, identity card, driver's license, access control card, vehicle registration document, vehicle registration document, visa or other ID document, checkbook, gift certificate. or shopping voucher, bill of lading or other proof of entitlement or another ID document.
  • the (security) document is a passport or identity card.
  • the (security) document is book or book-shaped, ie it contains several pages that can be exfoliated.
  • the document sheet can in particular form a map of a (security) document. If the (security) document is a passport, a document sheet contained therein is preferably a passport card.
  • the (security) document is formed from a document body and a document sheet, which are connected via at least one connection tab.
  • the document body can be in book or staple form, ie have multiple pages that can be exfoliated.
  • the security document may be a passport that has multiple visa pages.
  • the terms 'document sheet' and 'sheet' are used in this description and in the claims, these are to be understood as flat, preferably rectangular, carriers for information to be displayed.
  • These supports can be as thin and thus flexible as a paper sheet or thin plastic film or even thicker than and less flexible than a paper sheet or plastic film, such as a piece of cardboard or like a card that is still twistable, however can not be rolled anymore. Furthermore, this also means rigid plates that can not be bent or twisted practically.
  • the (document) bow can also be in the form of a card. If the document is a passport document, the document sheet is preferably a passport card.
  • the format of the (document) sheet depends on the document into which it is to be integrated.
  • the (document) sheet may further be made of a material suitable for the purpose of the invention, for example of a plastic (polymer), paper, cardboard, glass or other materials or mixtures of these materials, and optionally filled with reinforcing materials.
  • the thickness of the document sheet is preferably 250 to 950 ⁇ m.
  • the method according to the invention relates to the joining of at least one connecting tab formed from a textile material with a document sheet storing information according to the appended claims 1 to 7.
  • the document sheet can be connected to the document body of a security document.
  • the textile material of the at least one connecting strap is different according to the invention from the sheet material forming the document sheet.
  • the sheet may in particular be designed to be able to be inserted by means of the at least one connecting tab into a booklet or book consisting of sheets, foils and, if appropriate, stapling or book covers and / or stapling or spine books is or can be bound together with other sheets, slides and, if necessary, staples or book covers and / or book or book spines to a book or book.
  • the inventive method comprises, preferably in the following order, the following method steps: a) overlapping arranging the at least one connecting tab and the document sheet so that an overlap region of the at least one connecting tab is formed with the sheet, b) welding the at least one connecting tab and the document sheet in the overlap area.
  • the present invention further relates to a method for producing a security document according to appended claims 8 to 11.
  • This method comprises the following method steps: A) providing the information-storing document sheet and the at least one connecting tab formed from a textile material, wherein the textile material of the at least a connection tab is different from the sheet material forming the document sheet; B) overlapping the at least one connecting tab and the document sheet such that an overlapping area of the at least one connecting tab with the document sheet is formed, C) welding the at least one connecting tab and the document sheet in the overlapping area; and D) attaching the document sheet to the document body of the security document via the at least one connection tab.
  • the present invention also relates to a book or staple security document according to appended claim 12, comprising a document body having one or more book or staple pages, and at least one connecting tab connected to the document body and a document sheet storing information.
  • the document sheet is connected to the at least one connecting tab by means of a welded connection, wherein the at least one connecting tab is formed from a textile material and wherein the textile material of the at least one connecting tab is different from the sheet material forming the document sheet.
  • the present invention is based on the idea that a combination of a documentary sheet with the document body of a security document by means of a textile connection tab is advantageous because it ensures a flexible connection of the documentary sheet to the document body and the document without the use of an external Force can be easily kept closed or opened.
  • a firm, in particular cohesive connection ie a material connection of the materials with each other
  • a secure material connection was only expected when welding identical materials together.
  • the connecting tab as a textile material is further ensured that the security document, in which the document sheet is integrated by means of the connecting tab, in a simplified manner manageable by the document can be folded and unfold easily without locking it and without returning to a half-closed state again. Because the textile connecting strap has the flexibility required for this purpose. Also by the welding process, the connection tab does not lose its flexibility, since the welding does not extend to the flexible area. Furthermore, the welding method for connecting the connecting tab to the document sheet achieves a material connection between the connecting tab and the document sheet, which ensures that the document sheet can no longer be removed from the security document in a nondestructive manner when it is detached from the connecting tab.
  • connection tab is directly connected to the material of the document sheet via at least one connection point. Furthermore, it has been found that the use of different materials for the document sheet and the connecting tab allows an optimization also in terms of the most favorable for the selection of suitable components materials. Because it has been found that there is no restriction on certain materials with regard to a good weldability. With the secure cohesive connection a forgery or falsification of the security document is virtually impossible, at least with regard to the said exchange of the document sheet. This compound is easy to produce and therefore cost-effective and essentially not prone to error because of a small number of process steps required for this purpose.
  • a pattern present in the overlapping area in the document sheet for example a printed image in the form of alphanumeric characters, becomes visible through the textile connecting strip. This can be a security feature for the documentary sheet.
  • the textile properties go Although lost in the connection area. In the hinge area, ie outside the connection area, they remain intact.

  • it may be formed by a fabric in the form of a woven, knitted, knitted or the like or in the form of a felt or nonwoven, provided that it has the required tear strength.
  • the material is preferably formed from a composite of filaments, in particular fibers, yarn, threads or the like, which in the case of a woven, knitted fabric, knitted fabric or the like are arranged in an ordered manner to each other, while the filaments of a felt or nonwoven, for example Fibers are arranged disorderly.
  • the textile material is formed by a fabric, in particular with warp and weft threads.
  • the textile material of the connecting strap may in particular consist of or contain one or more fusible materials in order to enable the welding process.
  • the at least one meltable textile material is preferably made of plastic (polymer), more preferably of thermoplastic material. It has been found to be particularly advantageous to use a polyester, for example polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) as the thermoplastic, because these materials can easily spin into yarns or the like and then be further processed into the textile material.

  • a welded connection is produced, for example, in the form of a security feature between the connection tab and the document sheet
  • the former procedure is advantageous, since the connection of the connection tab to the documentary sheet and the integration of this unit into the document body can take place at different locations, the incorporation of the unit into the document body in this case need not necessarily take place in a particular security environment. Because the manufacturing steps required for the production of the security features (production of the documentary sheet and connecting the connection tab with the documentary sheet) are performed successively with the interposition of step B, while the subsequent step of integrating the unit into the document body (step D) can take place separately therefrom. • a plurality of document pages 3a, 3b, 3c, ... are connected to the book cover 2 for the reception of sight notes and the passport card 4.
  • the book cover 2 and the document pages 3a, 3b, 3c, ... form a document body 20.
  • the passport card 4 is connected via a connecting plate 6 with the document pages 3a, 3b, 3c, ... and the book cover 2.
  • the passport card 4 is connected in accordance with the invention manner via a welded joint 7 with the connecting plate 6.
  • the passport card 4 is disposed between the book cover 2 and an inner document page 3a.
  • the seam 8 (a thread) passes through the document pages 3a, 3b, 3c,...,
  • a Kaylzelband 9 is glued from a flexible material on the hinge 8.
  • the document pages 3a, 3b, 3c, ... represent the visa pages of the passport 1. They are, apart from a security printing in the form of guilloches, watermarks and possibly an identification number, not provided with other security features or other printing features.
  • the passport card 4 has various security features and personalizes in particular the passport holder. These are a photo of the owner, whose personal data in plain text as well as other security features included.
  • the passport card 4 can also be equipped as an RFID document with an antenna and an RFID Hableiterchip and optionally equipped with electronic components.
  • connection tab 6 is made of a woven material of thermoplastic PET. As a result, it is flexible, so that the passport 1 can be easily opened and closed.
  • the PET has a melting point or a glass transition temperature, which allows a welded connection with the passbook card 4 can be made by the material of the connecting plate 6 on or even melted.
  • the passport card 4 is made of a fusible material, namely in the form of a laminate of PC, which has thermoplastic properties. This material also melts on energy input or even on.
  • the formed welded joint 7 is extremely strong.
  • a security document 1 is shown in the form of a passport in an alternative embodiment.
  • This embodiment differs from that in FIG Fig. 1 illustrated in that one half (preferably the front of the passport 1) of the cover 2 of the passport 1 is formed in this case by the passport card 4.
  • the passbook card is preferably provided with the data on the inward facing side (to the document pages 3a, 3b, 3c, ).
  • the other half of the book cover 2 (preferably the back of the passport 1) is as in the embodiment of Fig. 1 formed as part 2a.
  • the connecting strap 6 enters the folding strap 9.
  • the part 2a of the cover 2, like the passport 4, is connected to the connecting strap 6 via a welded connection 7.
  • Fig. 3 is a unit of connecting plate 6 with the passport card 4 shown schematically in plan view.
  • the overlapping area 21 between the connecting tab 6 and the passbook card 4 extends over the entire edge length of the passport card 4, since the connecting tab 6 is as long as the edge length.
  • Fig. 4 10 shows an overhead sonotrode 11 and a bottom abutment in the form of an anvil 12.
  • the working surfaces 13, 14 of the sonotrode 11 and the anvil 12 are to the unit of the overlapping arranged textile connection tab 6 made of PET and passport card 4 off aligned to a PC laminate.
  • the working surfaces 13, 14 of the sonotrode 11 and the anvil 12 have approximately the width of the overlap region 21.
  • the working surfaces of the sonotrode 11 and the anvil 12 extend perpendicular to the plane of the drawing along the entire length of the overlap region 21.
  • the welded joint 7 in a Work process are generated.
  • the working surface 13 of the standing with the connecting plate 6 in direct contact sonotrode 11 is according to one of the embodiments of Fig.
  • the joining time is for example 0.3 s.
  • the working surface 13 of the sonotrode 11 in the first non-inventive embodiment is characterized by a plurality of mutually parallel elongated raised portions in the form of a profiling 15, the top tapered so that they form cutting 16 there. This allows a very efficient entry of energy into the connection tab 6 and the passbook card 4 because of the high surface pressure enabled thereby.
  • the working surface 13 of the sonotrode 11 in the second embodiment is characterized by a grid of raised portions 17, which form parallel to the main plane of the working surface flats 18.
  • the grid dimension s of the partial areas corresponds approximately to the woven mesh width r of the textile connecting flap.
  • the welded joints formed by the profiling are produced in welding areas 19 (see Fig. 7, 8 ).
  • Fig. 7 is a welded joint 7, consisting of a plurality of welding areas 19, shown between a connecting plate 6 of a woven fabric made of PET and the PC laminate passport card 4. Weft threads of the connecting strap 6 extend approximately perpendicular to the connecting line between the connecting strap and the passbook card 4 into the welding regions 19, while the warp threads 22 extend parallel thereto.
  • the welded connection 7 was connected to a sonotrode 11 with a working surface 13 as shown in FIG Fig. 5 produced.
  • This welded joint 7 was subjected to mechanical tension to simulate a loosening of the connection between the connecting plate 6 and the passbook card 4.
  • the connecting strap 6 and the passbook card 4 were torn apart in a direction parallel to the weft threads and in the plane of the welded joint 7. It can be seen that the detachment can not be achieved in a non-destructive manner, but that the textile connecting strap 6 tears in a region outside the connection region. This would be a falsification of the passport 1 by removing the passport card 4 readily apparent.
  • the connecting strap is formed in this case by a mixed fabric of two fabric materials, which is formed by weft threads 23 and warp threads 22.
  • the weft threads consist of a material which is meltable during the welding process, for example of PET, and the warp threads of a non-fusible material, for example of a cellulose material or of protein, preferably of cotton.
  • the warp threads extend from the free area (outside of the overlapping area) of the connecting strap into the overlapping area.
  • the warp threads in this area do not melt during the welding process, so that they retain their shape. This creates a particularly strong connection.
