Definitions

  • the invention relates to a thread-pulling knife for a sewing machine according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a thread trimming assembly and a sewing machine with such a thread-pulling knife.
  • a thread-pulling knife of the type mentioned is known from the EP 1 847 641 B1 , A thread trimmer for a zigzag stitch-producing sewing machine is described in U.S. Patent Nos. 4,178,055 US 4,455,957 , The US 4,879,960 discloses a thread cutting system for an inline chain stitch sewing machine.
  • Thread-pulling knives can be designed for sewing machines with grippers, which are rotatable about horizontal or vertical gripper axes.
  • the thread-pulling knife is regularly designed to cut both an upper thread and a looper thread, so that at the end of a seam formation both threads can be automatically cut off. If thick threads are to be sewn, which is often the case when sewing very resistant sewing material, the known thread-pulling knives sometimes no longer work reliably.
  • two separately arranged thread detection grooves for correspondingly separate detection of the upper thread on the one hand and the looper thread on the other hand offer the possibility of cutting both threads without the two threads converge uncontrolled when cutting and hinder each other in the worst case.
  • the separate thread detection enables a safe cutting of both threads even if thick thread types are used during sewing.
  • the thread-pulling knife pivot axis can run parallel to the gripper axis.
  • the thread detection grooves can open to the same direction.
  • the design of the thread-pulling knife for a sewing machine with a horizontally extending gripper axis is particularly suitable for a sewing machine designed for sewing heavy or durable material, for example leather or plastic plates.
  • An arrangement of the two thread-detecting grooves according to claim 2 allows due to the intermediate blade base body a compulsory separation of detection areas for the upper thread on the one hand and the looper thread on the other hand, resulting in a reliable thread detection.
  • a thread-pulling knife according to claim 3 allows a thread trimming close to a stitch pattern location, so that short thread ends remain on the fabric.
  • An arcuate design of the thread-pulling knife according to claim 4 ensures that a base body or a supporting body of the thread-pulling knife interfere with the yarn path as little as possible.
  • Staggered cutting edges of the thread-detecting grooves according to claim 5 reduce a maximum occurring cutting or shearing force when cutting the two threads.
  • Another object of the invention is to equip a sewing machine with such a thread-pulling knife.
  • the counter knife may be integrally provided with a common cutting edge which cooperates with the two bottom cutting edges of the thread detecting grooves, or may be equipped with two separately formed cutting edges each associated with the bottom cutting edge in the thread detecting groove. In the case of two separate cutting of the counter knife this can be carried out in two parts.
  • a sewing machine 1 has a base plate 2 with a stand 3 extending upward therefrom and an angled arm 4.
  • the sewing machine 1 is designed for sewing heavy or durable sewing material, for example leather or plastic plates.
  • the arm 4 ends in a head 5.
  • arm shaft 6 rotatably mounted.
  • This drives in the head 5, which is not set forth, a crank mechanism with a thread lever.
  • the crank mechanism is drivingly connected to a needle bar 9 axially slidably mounted in the head 5 in connection, of which in the Fig. 1 only a lower section is shown.
  • This has at its lower end a needle 10.
  • the needle 10 is moved up and down by the crank mechanism on a vertical axis 9a.
  • the needle 10 leads in an eye from a spool via a thread tensioning device and the thread lever supplied needle thread or upper thread 11, which is also shown only in sections in the drawing.
  • a gripper 12 having a gripper body with a gripper tip 12a.
  • the gripper 12 is designed as a Barell gripper.
  • a cylindrical storage housing 12b is mounted for receiving a looper thread supply.
  • a cylinder axis of the storage housing 12b is perpendicular to a rotational axis of the gripper 12.
  • the storage housing 12b is designed to receive a bobbin.
  • the storage housing 12b is therefore also referred to as a coil housing.
  • the gripper 12 is rotatable about a horizontal gripper axis 13.
  • a gripper or lower thread 14 serves a Fadenabschneid assembly 15, which in the Fig. 2 in a thread trimming position and in the Fig. 3 is shown in a basic position.
  • the two threads 11, 14 have in the sewing of durable fabric a considerable thickness, which may be, for example, 1 mm and more.
  • the Fadenabschneid assembly 15 has a movable between the Fadenabschneid too and the basic position thread-pulling knife 16 and a fixed to a frame, so for example the base plate 2, the sewing machine 1 connected counter knife 17. Between the basic position and the Fadenabschneid ein is a thread detection position of the thread pulling knife 16. Das The thread-pulling knife 16 is pivotable adjacent to the gripper 12 and to the spool housing 12b.
  • the thread-pulling knife 16 is arcuately executed about a pivot axis 18 about which the thread-pulling knife 16 of the displacement between the basic position and the Fadenabschneid ein is pivotable.
  • the thread-pulling knife 16 has an arc-shaped carrier body 19, with which a likewise curved knife body 20 of the thread-pulling knife 16 is screwed by means of a mounting bracket 21.
  • the carrier body 19 is arcuately formed so that it is arranged in the assembled basic position around the gripper 12 around.
  • the thread-pulling knife carrier body 19 is rotatably connected to a blade shaft 22 which extends along the pivot axis 18 in the base plate 2 parallel to the arm shaft 6.
  • a pivot axis of the thread-pulling knife carrier body 19 extends parallel to the gripper axis 13.
  • the gripper axis is vertical.
  • the pivot axis of the thread-pulling knife carrier body is vertical.
  • the arrangement of the thread-pulling knife 16 and the counter knife 17 is rotated in the case of a vertical gripper axis by 90 ° so that the cutting edges of the thread-pulling knife 16 and the counter blade 17 cooperating with each other during thread cutting are substantially vertical in this alternative embodiment.
  • the blade shaft 22 is mechanically coupled to a blade drive shaft 24, which is also housed parallel to the arm shaft 6, at the transition between the stator 3 and the arm 4.
  • a drive movement of the knife drive shaft 24 is derived from the arm shaft 6 via a cam 24 a, which is rotatably connected to the arm shaft 6.
  • a lift cylinder 24b provides controlled displacement of the thread trimmer mechanism between a neutral position, in which the cam disc 24a remains ineffective, and a thread trimmer operating position in which the cam plate 24a acts to drive a cutting movement of the thread pulling knife 16.
  • the thread-pulling knife 16 has two separately arranged thread-detecting grooves 25, 26, each having a cutting edge with respective cutting edge 26a.
  • the cutting edges 26a represent edge transitions between the thread-detecting grooves 25 and 26 on the one hand and an upper side of the thread-pulling knife 16 on the other hand Fig. 3
  • Thread detection groove 26 shown above is used to detect the upper thread 11 and in the Fig. 3
  • the thread detection groove 25 shown below is used to detect the lower thread 14.
  • the two thread detection grooves 25, 26 are arranged on both sides of a knife base 27 of the thread pulling knife 16.
  • the two thread-detecting grooves 25 and 26 open to the same direction, namely, as seen from a free end of the thread pulling knife 16 in the basic position, in the direction of movement of the thread pulling knife 16 for thread detection position and the cutting position.
  • the counter-blade 17 is adjustably screwed in position with a bearing block 28, which in turn is bolted to the frame of the sewing machine 1.
  • the thread clamp 29 clamps the bobbin-side lower thread 14, which is pulled around the thread pulling knife 16 during cutting, after cutting, so that its position remains defined after deposition. This facilitates sewing and prevents a loose end of the lower thread 14 from entering a later trajectory of the gripper.
  • FIG. 5 The exploded view after Fig. 5 further shows a screw 30 with countersunk head for attachment of the counter blade 17 to an upper bearing surface 31 of the bearing block 28.
  • the screw 30 is screwed for this purpose in a thread 32, which is executed in the contact surface 31.
  • a ball cap 33 is arranged, which is designed to match a conical socket 34 in a screw passage opening 35 of the counter blade 17.
  • a threaded pin 36 is arranged for adjusting the counter blade 17.
  • a cutting relative position of a cutting edge 38 of the counter blade 17 to the cutting edges 26a of the thread pulling knife 16 can be specified.
  • a cutting pressure during the thread cutting between the cutting edges 26a and 38 is generated by a radius of the knife main body 27 rising to the cutting point in the region of the thread-detecting grooves 25, 26.
  • the sewing machine 1 operates as follows: In the normal sewing operation, the thread-pulling knife 16 is in the home position. With the help of the gripper and the needle 10 in a known manner looping and knotting of looper thread 14 and needle thread 11 for seam formation. At the end of the seaming operation, a thread trimming operation is initiated for both threads 11, 14. For this purpose, a knife drive is actuated, via the knife drive shaft 24, the pull rod 23, the knife shaft 22, a pivoting of the thread pulling knife 16 from the basic position in the Thread trimming position causes. Here, the thread-pulling knife 16 passes through the thread-detecting position, in which the thread-detecting groove 25, the upper thread 11 and the thread-detecting groove 26 detects the lower thread 14.
  • the counter knife 17 With covered in the grooves 25, 26 threads 11, 14, the counter knife 17 then reaches the Fadenabschneidleton in which the threads 11, 14 between the cutting edges 26a of the thread pulling knife 16 and the cutting edge 38 of the counter blade 17 are sheared.
  • the thread-pulling knife 16 then returns, again driven by the components 22 to 24, in the normal position.
  • FIGS. 7 and 8 Two further embodiments of a thread trimming assembly with a thread-pulling knife and a counter knife are explained below. Components corresponding to those described above with reference to the thread trimming assembly according to the Fig. 1 to 6 already described, bear the same reference numbers and will not be discussed again in detail.
  • the cutting edge 38 of the counter blade 17 is inclined relative to a connecting line 39 between the two cutting edges 26a of the thread-detecting grooves 25, 26.
  • the counter knife cutting edge 38 encloses an angle ⁇ of 8 ° with the connecting line 39 in the area of the thread cutting position.
  • the execution after Fig. 7 closes the cutting edge 38 of the counter blade 17 with a movement direction 40 of Fadenabschneid movement of the thread-pulling knife 16 relative to the counter blade 17 a right angle.
  • the oblique course of the counter knife cutting edge 38 to the connecting line 39 of the two cutting edges 26a is thus due to the fact that the two cutting edges 26a of the thread detection grooves 25, 26 are arranged offset in the direction of movement 40 to each other. In absolute terms, this offset can be, for example, in the range of 1 mm to 2 mm.
  • the counter-blade cutting edge 38 is not perpendicular to the direction of movement 40 of the thread-pulling knife 16, but takes this to a minimum angle ⁇ , which is smaller than 88 ° and in the illustrated embodiment is about 78 °.
  • the thread-pulling knife 16 is in the execution after Fig. 8 also with regard to the arrangement of the cutting edges 26 a executed exactly as the thread-pulling knife 16 after Fig. 6 , The cutting edges 26a are after the thread-pulling knife 16 after Fig. 8 in the direction of movement 40 so not offset from each other.
