Definitions
- the present invention relates to an apparatus for injecting fuel having an improved and less expensive construction.
- EP1731754A discloses such an injector.
- the fuel injection device according to the invention with the features of claim 1 has the advantage that it has a much simpler and cheaper construction. This results in very large potential savings in mass production. Furthermore, a simpler installation is possible.
- the device has an outwardly opening valve needle, which is actuated by a piezoelectric actuator having.
- a valve body having a first passage opening and a holding body connected to the valve body are provided with a second passage opening.
- the valve needle is arranged in both passage openings.
- the valve body also has a first guide region for guiding the valve needle.
- the first passage opening in the valve body is provided such that the passage opening has no undercut.
- the elongated through hole is formed such that no groove-shaped recesses or the like are provided in the through hole.
- the passage opening can be made from one side, for example by means of a multi-stage drilling process, quickly and inexpensively.
- a valve seat and the guide region of the valve needle can be ground in one clamping from one side of the passage opening. In this case, in particular a complex, two-sided grinding process can be avoided.
- the device comprises a sleeve arranged in the holding body with a second guide region on which the valve needle is guided.
- the second guide region is preferably arranged in the dry region of the device, so that no corrosion-resistant material has to be used for this purpose.
- the apparatus includes a bellows for sealing a fuel-filled area of a dry, fuel-free area of the apparatus.
- a first end of the bellows is arranged directly on the valve needle.
- the bellows is more preferably made of a single-layer metal material, so that it is particularly inexpensive.
- a second end of the bellows is attached to the socket arranged on the holding body.
- the device comprises a return element, which is supported on the holding body.
- the return element is preferably a cylindrical spring.
- the restoring element is further preferably arranged in the dry region of the device. More preferably, the restoring element is supported on a plate element, which is fastened to the valve needle.
- the plate element is preferably arranged at the opposite end of the injection side of the valve needle.
- the holding body according to the invention has a first contact surface and the valve body has a second contact surface.
- the two contact surfaces touch each other and are arranged perpendicular to a central axis of the device.
- a flat contact between the valve body and the holding body is achieved, whereby a simple and secure connection of the two components is possible.
- the holding body and / or the valve body has a centering collar in order to simplify the assembly even further.
- the valve body in the axial direction of the device has a length which is smaller than a length of the holding body.
- the length of the valve body is smaller than that of the holding body by more than half.
- the valve needle comprises a third guide section, which are guided on a common guide area with the first guide section in the valve body.
- the guide region in the valve body is formed over a certain axial length, so that the two guide sections are guided on the valve needle on the guide area.
- the device comprises a cylindrical annular flow region, which is arranged between the first guide region on the valve body and a fuel outlet.
- a cross-sectional area of the annular flow area is approximately twice as large, preferably exactly twice as large as a cylindrical annular exit area at the fuel outlet.
- the cylinder-shaped flow region according to the invention makes it possible to stabilize the fuel flow when the valve is open, since due to the provision of the first guide regions, a slight turbulence of the fuel flow can occur. This can be throttled in the cylindrical flow area. Since the exit area at the fuel outlet is approximately half the size of the cross-sectional area of the cylindrical annular flow area, further throttling takes place at the outlet, whereby a precisely defined shape of the spray is obtained.
- a length of the cylindrical annular flow region is selected such that the length is approximately two to five times, preferably four times as long as a width of the cylindrical annular flow region, the width being defined as the radial distance between the needle and the passage opening of the valve body at the flow region. In this way it can be ensured that the cylindrical annular flow region is long enough to obtain the desired stabilization of the fuel flow when the valve is open.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 a device 1 for injecting fuel according to a first embodiment of the invention described in detail.
- the device 1 for injecting fuel comprises a piezoelectric actuator 2, which is connected to an outwardly opening valve needle 3.
- the valve needle 3 is a one-piece component, which is arranged in a valve body 4 and a holding body 5.
- the valve body 4 has a first passage opening 40 and the holding body 5 has a second passage opening 50.
- a valve seat 13 is arranged, on which the valve needle 3 rests in the closed state.
- a first guide region 11 for guiding the valve needle 3 is arranged adjacent to the valve seat 13 in the passage opening 40.
- the valve needle 3 is further guided on a second guide portion 12, which is provided on an inner periphery of a bush 6.
- valve needle 3 has a second guide section 32. It should be noted that the guide portions 31, 32 and the guide portions 11 and 12 have been machined by a finishing method to have an excellent slidability.
- the bush 6 is connected to the holding body 5 by means of a welded connection 16 and is partially inserted into the holding body 5.
- the device 1 further comprises a corrugated bellows 9, which is made of a single-layered metal material. How out FIG. 1 can be seen, the corrugated bellows 9 is welded to a first end 9a by means of a welded joint 14 directly to the valve needle 3. A second, opposite end 9b of the corrugated bellows 9 is welded to the bushing 6 by means of a welded joint 15. In this case, the socket 6 has a small shoulder to safely receive the second end 9a.
- the corrugated bellows 9 divides the injector into a wet region 20, on which fuel is present, and a dry region 21, which is fuel-free.
- the device 1 further comprises a return spring 7, which is supported with one end on the holding body 5 and supported at its other end to a spring plate 8.
- the spring plate 8 is fastened by means of a welded connection 17 directly to the valve needle 3.
- the reference numeral 10 denotes a filter through which the fuel, as indicated by the arrow A, is supplied.
- the fuel is then guided along the bellows 9 and the front portion of the valve needle 3 to the valve seat 13.
- the valve needle in Region of the first guide portion 31 recesses 33 provided so that the fuel is applied directly to the valve seat 13.
- a centering collar 42 is further formed on the valve body 4. How out FIG. 1 it can be seen, the centering collar 42 is inserted into the second through hole 50 of the holding body 5.
- a first contact surface 41 and on the holding body 5 a second contact surface 51 is further formed on the valve body 4, which are each aligned perpendicular to the axial direction XX. This results in a planar contact surface between the valve body 4 and the holding body 5, so that a connection between the valve body 4 and holding body 5 can be made by means of a welded joint 18.
- a cylindrical annular flow region 62 is arranged on the valve body 4 between the first guide region 11 and a fuel outlet 61.
- the cylindrical annular flow region 62 is formed between the needle 3 and the passage opening 40 of the valve body 4.
- the cylindrical annular flow region 62 in this case has an annular surface C.
- an annular surface D is perpendicular to the flow direction with the valve fully open between the valve needle 3 and the valve seat 13, wherein the annular surface D is about half as large as the annular surface C.
- a length L of the cylindrical annular flow region 62 is about four times The width is the radial distance between the needle and the wall surface of the passage opening 40 at the flow area 62.
- the function of the injector according to the invention is as follows. If an injection takes place, the piezoelectric actuator 2 is activated, whereby the valve needle 3 is moved in the direction of the arrow B and lifts off from the valve seat 13. Fuel can thereby be injected through the opened injector. The movement The valve needle 3 takes place counter to the spring force of the return spring 7, which is biased by the stroke of the valve needle 3. If the injection is terminated again, the piezoelectric actuator is deactivated again and the injector is automatically returned to the in. By the biased return spring 7 FIG. 1 shown reset initial position and the valve needle 3 is located on the valve seat 13 firmly and seals there in a known manner.
- an outwardly opening injector can be provided, which in particular has a simplified and less expensive construction than in the prior art.
- a length L1 of the valve body 4 in the axial direction XX is smaller than a length L2 of the holding body 5 in the axial direction XX.
- a short and simply shaped valve body 4 can be provided, wherein the through-hole 40 is formed in the valve body 4 without an undercut.
- the through hole can be made very easily.
- the sealing seat 13 and the first guide portion 11 on the valve body 4 are immediately adjacent to each other, a production of these surfaces can be carried out in a clamping from the same side.
- valve body 4 As in the prior art, two separate guide surfaces need not be machined on the valve body 4, which significantly increases the cost of manufacturing the valve body 4.
- the side directed towards the holding body 5 of the valve body 4 can be produced inexpensively by means of a turning operation.
- the closing force of the return spring 7 can be adjusted in a simple manner by fixing the spring plate 8 at a corresponding position on the valve needle 3.
- the corrugated bellows 9 is arranged completely in the holding body 5.
- the corrugated bellows 9 can be inexpensively provided as a single-layer metal element, since in the holding body 5 sufficient space for the arrangement of the corrugated bellows 9 is present.
- a bellows 9 can thereby be used, which is relatively long in the axial direction XX. In this way, the corrugated bellows 9 can have a multiplicity of waves in order to absorb the bending loads acting on it sufficiently.
- the bushing 6 can be used, which also has an enlarged length in the axial direction XX. This allows a distance between the welded joint 16 to the holding body 5 and the second guide portion 32 are designed to be larger. This makes it possible that the bushing 6 can be tempered, because there is no hardness drop at the guide area by the welding process. The tempered bushing has less wear, especially when lateral forces act on the valve needle 3.
- the spring plate 8 is very inexpensive to produce as a simple deep-drawn part. In this case, in particular, a spring centering collar on the spring plate can be dispensed with.
- the injector according to the invention thus has a number of improvements, which overall allow a significant cost savings in the manufacture of the injector.
- the provision of the undercut-free valve body 4 reduces the manufacturing costs significantly.
- FIG. 3 a device 1 for injecting fuel according to a second embodiment of the invention described in detail. Identical or functionally identical parts are denoted by the same reference numerals as in the first embodiment.
- the device of the second exemplary embodiment has a third guide section 34 on the valve needle 3. How out FIG. 3 is apparent, the third guide portion 34 adjacent to the first guide portion 31 is arranged. At the third guide section 34, the valve needle 3 is guided on the valve body 4 as in the first guide section 31. For this purpose, the first guide portion 11 is extended in the passage opening 40 of the valve body in the axial direction XX. In this way, although an extended first guide portion 11 must be provided in the through hole 40, but the valve needle 3 is aligned better in particular near the valve seat 13 to the central axis.
- a seat gap between the valve needle 3 and the valve seat 13 may be more uniform circumferentially, whereby the ejected fuel spray is more uniform over the circumference.
- the guide regions Due to the small distance between the first and third guide region 31, 33 in the valve body 4, however, the guide regions can be ground inexpensively, as in the first exemplary embodiment, in a clamping from the seat side.
- One Another difference from the first embodiment lies in the connection between the valve body 4 and the holding body 5.
- a centering collar 52 is provided both on the valve body 4 and a centering collar 52 on the holding body 5.
- a clearance fit or a press fit may be provided between the centering collar 42 and the centering collar 52.
- the centering collar 52 of the holding body 5 heats up more than the radially inner centering collar 42 of the valve body 4, because the centering collar 52 is thin-walled compared to the centering collar 42. As the components cool, therefore, the centering collar 52 of the holding body 5 shrinks more than the valve body 4. As a result, the valve body 4 is pulled onto the axial contact surface 51 on the holding body 5 and therefore aligns very accurately. Since the welding operation is relatively far away from the contact surfaces 41, 51 in the axial direction XX, different welding distortions along the circumference, if at all, have a very slight effect on a non-axial alignment of the valve body 4 with the holding body 5.
