Diaminopropan
[0001] Die Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels zur Entfernung von C02 aus technischen Gasen.
[0002] Die Entfernung von C02 aus technischen Gasen ist von besonderer Bedeutung für die Reduzierung von C02-Emissionen, da C02 als die Hauptursache des Treibhauseffekts angesehen wird.
[0003] In der Industrie werden für die Entfernung von Sauergaskomponenten häufig wässrige Lösungen organischer Basen, z.B. Alkanolamine als Absorptionsmittel eingesetzt. [0004] Das Absorptionsmittel wird dabei durch Zufuhr von Wärme, Druckreduktion, oder Strippen mittels geeigneter Hilfsmedien regeneriert. Nach der Regeneration steht das Absorptionsmittel als regeneriertes Lösungsmittel für die Absorption von
Sauergaskomponenten erneut zur Verfügung. [0005] Rauchgase aus der Verbrennung von fossilen Brennstoffen, fallen nun in etwa bei atmosphärischem Druck an. Da der C02-Gehalt in den Rauchgasen typischerweise etwa 3 bis 13 Vol% beträgt, beträgt der C02-Partialdruck entsprechend nur 0,03 bis 0,13 bar. Um bei diesen niedrigen C02-Partialdrücken eine ausreichende Entfernung des C02's aus den Rauchgasen zu erzielen, muss ein geeignetes
Absorptionsmittel eine sehr hohe Bindungsfähigkeit für C02 haben. Insbesondere sollte eine möglichst hohe Aufnahmekapazität auch schon bei niedrigen C02-Partialdrücken vorhanden sein.
[0006] Durch die Aufnahmekapazität des Absorptionsmittels wird im Wesentlichen die benötigte Absorptionsmittelumlaufmenge und damit die Größe und Kosten der dafür benötigten Ausrüstungen bestimmt. Da die benötigte Energie zum Aufheizen und Abkühlen des Absorptionsmittels proportional der Umlaufmenge ist, wird auch die für die Regeneration des Lösungsmittels benötigte Regenerationsenergie in wesentlicher Weise reduziert, wenn es gelingt die Umlaufmenge des Absorptionsmittels zu reduzieren.
[0007] Neben einer hohen Aufnahmekapazität sollte ein geeignetes
Absorptionsmittel insbesondere aber auch eine möglichst hohe Stabilität gegenüber Sauerstoff aufweisen, da insbesondere in Rauchgasen immer ein gewisser Anteil an Sauerstoff vorhanden ist. Aus der Literatur ist bekannt, das viele Aminverbindungen, die sonst günstige Absorptionseigenschaften aufweisen, bei Vorhandensein von Sauerstoff leicht zersetzt werden, was zum einen zu einem hohen
Absorptionsmittelverbrauch und zum anderen zu entsprechend hohen Kosten führt. Die dabei entstehenden Zersetzungsprodukte führen in der Regel zu einer deutlich erhöhten Korrosion und können zum anderen die Kapazität des Absorptionsmittels signifikant reduzieren.
[0008] Leichtflüchtige Zersetzungsprodukte, wie z.B. Ammoniak hätten zur Folge, dass das C02-Produkt und das die C02-Wäsche verlassende Rauchgas mit unzulässigen Emissionskomponenten verunreinigt würden. Die Vermeidung dieser Emissionen macht weitere Prozessschritte notwendig, wodurch sich die Kosten einer C02-Wasche weiter erhöhen.
[0009] Die Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels zum Entfernen von sauren Gasen aus einem Fluidstrom ist beispielsweise aus US 2007/0264180 A1 bekannt. Hier wird gelehrt, dass 1 ,2 Diaminopropan (als 1 ,2-Propandiamin bezeichnet) in einer Konzentration von 0 bis 30 Gew. % dem Absorptionsmittel als zusätzlicher Aktivator zugesetzt werden kann. Der Einsatz einer wässrigen 1,2 Diaminopropan-Lösung, das selbst, für sich genommen, als Absorptionsmittel fungiert, wird in keinster Weise nahegelegt.
[0010] Es besteht daher ein erheblicher Bedarf nach einem Absorptionsmittel, das zum einen eine möglichst hohe Aufnahmefähigkeit für C02 bei niedrigen
Partialdrücken aufweist und das gleichzeitig möglichst Sauerstoff-stabil und auch unter den Bedingungen der Absorptionsmittelregeneration thermisch stabil ist. Die Deckung dieses Bedarfes, d.h. also die Bereitstellung eines solchen Absorptionsmittels, sowie ein Verfahren zur Entfernung von C02 aus technischen Gasen hat sich die vorliegende Erfindung zur Aufgabe gemacht.
[0011] Die Aufgabe wird gelöst durch die Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels, das 1 ,2 Diaminopropan in wässriger Lösung enthält.
[0012] Im Allgemeinen enthält das Absorptionsmittel bezogen auf das Gewicht des Absorptionsmittels 10 bis 90 Gew%, vorzugsweise 30 bis 65 Gew% an 1,2
Diaminopropan. [0013] In einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung enthält das zu verwendende Absorptionsmittel außerdem wenigstens ein weiteres von 1 ,2 Diaminopropan verschiedenes Amin. So kann das erfindungsgemäße Absorptionsmittel z.B. 5 bis 45 Gew%, vorzugsweise 10 bis 40 Gew% eines oder mehrer davon verschiedener Amine enthalten.
[0014] Das wenigstens eine von 1 ,2 Diaminopropan verschiedene weitere Amin wird beispielsweise ausgewählt aus:
A) tertiären Aminen der allgemeinen Formel:
N(R1)2-n(R2)1+n
worin R1 für eine Alkylgruppe und R2 für eine Hydroxylalkylgruppe steht oder
tertiären Aminen der allgemeinen Formel:
(R1)2-n (R2)nN-X-N(R1)2.m(R2)m
worin R1 für eine Alkylgruppe steht, R2 für eine Hydroxyalkylgruppe steht, X für eine Alkylengruppe, die ein- oder mehrfach durch Sauerstoff unterbrochen ist und n und m für eine ganze Zahl von 0 bis 2 steht, oder zwei an verschiedene Stickstoffatome gebundene Reste R1 und R2 zusammen für eine Alkylengruppe steht, B) sterisch gehinderten Aminen,
C) 5-, 6-, oder 7-gliedrigen gesättigten Heterocyclen mit wenigsten einer NH- Gruppe im Ring, die ein oder zwei weitere, unter Stickstoff und Sauerstoff ausgewählte Heteroatome im Ring enthalten können,
D) primären oder sekundären Alkonolaminen,
E) Alkylendiaminen der Formel:
H2N-R2-NH2
worin R2 für eine C2 bis C6-Alkylgruppe steht.
[0015] In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung werden die tertiären Amine, die zusätzlich zu 1 ,2 Diaminopropan eingesetzt werden, ausgewählt aus einer
Gruppe, umfassend Tris(2-hydroxyethyl)amin, Tris(2-hydroxypropyl)amin,
Tributanolamin, Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-methylamin, 2-Diethylaminoethanol, 2- Dimethyiaminoethanol, 3-Dimethylamino-1-propanol, 3-Diethylamino-1-propanol, 2- Diisopropylaminoethanol, N,N-Bis(2-hydroxypropyl)methylamin
(Methyldiisopropanolamin, MDIPA), Ν,Ν,Ν',Ν'-Tetramethylethylendiamin, N,N-Diethyl- N',N'-dimethylethylendiamin,N, Ν,Ν',Ν'-Tetraethylethylendiamin, N, Ν,Ν',Ν'- Tetramethylpropandiamin,N,N,N',N'-Tetraethylpropandiamin, N,N-Dimethyl-N',N'- diethylethylendiamin, 2-(2-Dimethylaminoethoxy)-N,N-dimethylethanamin; 1 ,4- Diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO); N,N,N'-Trimethylaminoethylethanolamin,N, ΝΓ- Dimethylpiperazin und N,N'-Bis(hydroxyethyl)piperazin. Weitere in Frage kommende tertiäre Amine sind in WO 2008/145658 A1 , US 4,217,236 und US 2009/0199713 A1 offenbart.
[0016] In einer weiteren Ausgestaltung werden die sterisch gehinderten Amine, die zusätzlich zu 1 ,2 Diaminopropan eingesetzt werden, ausgewählt aus einer Gruppe, umfassend 2-Amino-2-methyl-1-propanol, 2-Amino-2-methyl-1-butanol, 3-Amino-3- methyl-1-butanol, 3-Amino-3-methyl-2-pentanol und 1 -Amino-2-methylpropan-2-ol. Weitere in Frage kommende sterisch gehinderte Amine werden in WO 2008/145658 A1 , US 4,217,236, US 2009/0199713 A1, US 5,700,437, US 6,500,397 B1 und US 6,036,931 genannt.
[0017] Optional werden die 5-, 6-, oder 7-gliedrigen gesättigten Heterocyclen, die zusätzlich zu 1 ,2 Diaminopropan eingesetzt werden, aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt, umfassend, Piperazin, 2-Methylpiperazin, N-Methylpiperazin, N-Ethylpiperazin, N- Aminoethylpiperazin, Homopiperazin, Piperidin und Morpholin. Weitere Verbindungen, die zur Auswahl stehen, beschreiben die WO 2008/145658 A1 und die US
2009/0199713 A1.
[0018] Mit Vorteil werden die primären oder sekundären Alkanolamine, die zusätzlich zu 1 ,2 Diaminopropan eingesetzt werden, aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt, umfassend, 2-Aminoethanol, N,N-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amin, N,N-Bis(2-hydroxy- propyl)amin, 2-(Methylamino)ethanol, 2-(Ethylamino)ethanol, 2-(n-Butylamino)ethanol, 2-Amino-1-butanol, 3-Amino-1-propanol und 5-Amino-1 pentanol. Auch hierzu sind weitere mögliche Verbindungen in den Schriften WO 2008/145658 A1 und die US 2009/0199713 A1 offenbart.

Dimethylaminopentylamin, 1 ,1 ,Ν,Ν-Tetramethylethandiamin, 2,2,N,N-Tetramethyl-1 ,3- propandiamin, N,N'-Dimethyl-1 ,3-propandiamin, N,N'Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylendiamin. Außerdem kommen sämtliche Komponenten in Betracht, die in der WO 2008/145658 A1 und der US 2009/0199713 A1 als solche gekennzeichnet sind, insbesondere MAPA.
[0020] Desweiteren zeichnet sich die Verwendung des Absorptionsmittels dadurch aus, dass der Fluidstrom mit einem vorstehend charakterisierten Absorptionsmittel in Kontakt gebracht wird und dabei das Absorptionsmittel mit C02 beladen wird. Dies geschieht bevorzugt bei einem Partialdruck von < 200 mbar.
[0021] Vorteilhaft wird das beladene Absorptionsmittel durch Erwärmung,
Entspannung, Strippen mittels durch interne Verdampfung des Lösungsmittels erzeugten Strippdämpfen, Strippen mit einem inerten Fluid oder einer Kombination zweier oder aller dieser Maßnahmen regeneriert.
[0022] Die vorliegende Erfindung wird nachstehend anhand zweier Beispiele detailliert beschrieben. [0023] Beispiel 1 : Test auf Sauerstoffstabilität
Die Beständigkeit von 1 ,2 Diaminopropan gegen die Einwirkung von Sauerstoff wurde wie folgt ermittelt:
Die Untersuchungen wurden in einer Glasapparatur bestehend aus Rundkolben und Rückflusskühler durchgeführt. Die Amine wurden eingewogen. Dabei wurde bei etwa 110 °C über 4 Tage ein mit Wasserdampf vorgesättigter Luftstrom von ca. 12 Nl Luft /h in die gerührte Lösung eingeperlt. Zur Verfolgung des Reaktionsverlaufs wurden täglich Proben mittels Gaschromatograpie bzw. Säure-Base-Titration (0, 1 molare Salzsäure) analysiert und so der absolute Amingehalt bestimmt. Am Ende wurden die Kolben zur Kontrolle gewogen, um die Gesamtmenge der Lösung zu bestimmen.
[0024] Aufgrund der Vorsättigung der Luft mit Wasserdampf fand eine
Gewichtszunahme im Kolben über die Versuchsdauer statt. Wird das Messergebnis um die Gewichtszunahme durch das eingetragene Wasser korrigiert, wurde nach Abschluss des Versuches in überraschender Weise festgestellt, dass die
Konzentration von 1 ,2 Diaminopropan (50 Gew%) in der Lösung die Gleiche war, wie zu Beginn des Versuches. Messtechnisch ließ sich demnach keine Veränderung bestimmen. Dem entsprechend wurde über diesen Zeitraum keinerlei
Farbveränderung des 1 ,2 Diaminopropan festgestellt. Die Farbe des 1 ,2
Diaminopropan war zu Beginn sowie zu Ende des Versuches leicht gelb.
[0025] Im Gegensatz dazu ergab sich bei dem Test der Stabilität einer ebenfalls ca. 50 Gew% igen Monoethanolaminlösung unter ansonsten gleichen Bedingungen eine Endkonzentration von 44,89 Gew% nach 4 Tagen. Das entspricht einem
Lösungsmittelverlust von ca. 9,6 % des eingesetzten Monoethanolamins innerhalb des Testzeitraums. Entsprechend änderte sich die Farbe von leicht beige hin zu dunkel orange.
[0026] Beispiel 2: Bestimmung der C02-Aufnahmekapazität Für die synthetischen Gaslöslichkeitsmessungen (isotherme P-x-Daten) wurde eine statische Phasengleichgewichtsapparatur nach dem synthetischen Messprinzip eingesetzt. In dieser Anordnung wird der Druck für verschiedene
Bruttozusammensetzungen einer Mischung bei konstanter Temperatur gemessen. Das thermostatisierte, gereinigte und entgaste Lösungsmittel wird mit Hilfe von
Dosierpumpen, die es erlauben, kleine Volumendifferenzen aufzuzeigen, in eine evakuierte und thermostatisierte Messzelle gefüllt. Dann wird das Gas in kleinen Schritten hinzugegeben. Das dann bei einem bestimmten Druck in der
Absorptionslösung befindliche C02wird unter Berücksichtigung des Gasraums rechnerisch bestimmt.
[0027] Es wurde die C02-Aufnahme für einen C02-Partialdruck von ca. 0,1 bar bei einer Temperatur von 40 °C bestimmt.

Aus den in der Tabelle 1 gezeigten Ergebnissen geht hervor, dass bei gleicher Aminkonzentration 1 ,2 Diaminopropan (DAP) ca. 50 % mehr C02 aufnimmt, als das dem Stand der Technik entsprechende Waschmittel Monoethanolamin (MEA).
[0028] In gleicher Weise wie für 40 °C wurde auch die
Gleichgewichtskonzentration von C02 in wässriger Lösung bei 120 °C bestimmt. Unter den typischen Regenerationsbedingungen in der Desorptionskolonne ( 20°C bei ca. 0,09 bar C02-Partialdruck) lässt sich dann die Restbeladung an C02 bestimmen. Wird die verbleibende C02-Restkonzentration mit berücksichtigt, um die sogenannte zyklische Absorptionsfähigkeit, d.h. die tatsächlich zu erreichende C02-Aufnahme für das jeweilige Lösungsmittel, wobei die absolute C02-Aufnahmekapazität um die verbleibende C02-Restbeladung aus der Regeneration des Lösungsmittels vermindert ist, zu bestimmen, so beträgt die zyklische Absorptionskapazität von
1 ,2 Diaminopropan (DAP) bei gleichen Gewichtsanteilen des jeweiligen Amins in Wasser etwa das 1 ,6 -fache der zyklischen Absorptionskapazität von
Monoethanolamin (MEA).
[0029] Damit ist die zyklische Absorptionsfähigkeit von 1,2 Diaminopropan noch größer als die absolute C02-Aufnahmekapazität relativ zu Monoethanolamin. Dies deutet darauf, dass die Regeneration von 1 ,2 Diaminopropan, möglicherweise bedingt durch die nicht gradkettige Struktur der Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen, zu geringeren C02-Restbeladungen führt als bei dem vergleichbaren MEA. Dies stellt einen weiteren Vorteil des erfindungsgemäßen Amins dar.
[0030] Damit liegt erfindungsgemäß ein Lösungsmittel für die Absorption von C02, insbesondere im Bereich niedriger C02-Partialdrücke und bei Anwesenheit von Sauerstoff, vor, das zum einen bei diesen Bedingungen deutlich stabiler ist und zum anderen auch eine höhere zyklische Absorptionskapazität aufweist, als ein
vergleichbares Lösungsmittel nach dem Stand der Technik. Dies beweist die besondere Eignung für die C02-Entfernung des erfindungsgemäßen Amins aus technischen Gasen mit niedrigen Partialdrücken (< 200 mbar).
Claims
1. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels zum Entfernen von sauren Gasen aus einem Fluidstrom umfassend eine wässrige Lösung aus 1 ,2 Diaminopropan.
2. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels nach Anspruch 1 , wobei das
Absorptionsmittel bezogen auf das Gewicht des Absorptionsmittels 10 bis 90 Gew%, vorzugsweise 30 bis 65 Gew% an 1 ,2 Diaminopropan enthält.
3. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels nach einem der Ansprüche 1 oder 2, wobei das Absorptionsmittel wenigstens ein weiteres von 1 ,2 Diaminopropan
verschiedenes Amin enthält.
4. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels nach Anspruch 3, wobei das
Absorptionsmittel 5 bis 45 Gew%, und vorzugsweise 10 bis 40 Gew% des wenigstens einen von 1 ,2 Diaminopropan verschiedenen Amins enthält.
5. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels nach einem der Ansprüche 3 oder 4, wobei das wenigstens eine weitere von 1 ,2 Diaminopropan verschiedene Amin ausgewählt ist unter:
A) tertiären Aminen der allgemeinen Formel:
N(R1)2-n(R2)1+n
worin R1 für eine Alkylgruppe steht und R2 für eine Hydroxylalkylgruppe steht
oder
tertiären Aminen der allgemeinen Formel:
(R1)2.n (R2)nN-X-N(R1)2-m(R2)m
worin R1 für eine Alkylgruppe steht, R2 für eine Hydroxyalkylgruppe steht, X für eine Alkylengruppe, die ein- oder mehrfach durch Sauerstoff unterbrochen ist und n und m für eine ganze Zahl von 0 bis 2 steht, oder zwei an verschiedene Stickstoffatome gebundene Reste R1 und R2 zusammen für eine Alkylengruppe steht,
B) sterisch gehinderten Aminen, C) 5-, 6-, oder 7-gliedrigen gesättigten Heterocyclen mit wenigsten einer NH- Gruppe im Ring, die ein oder zwei weitere, unter Stickstoff und Sauerstoff ausgewählte Heteroatome im Ring enthalten können,
D) primären oder sekundären Alkonolaminen,
E) Alkylendiaminen der Formel:
H2N-R2-NH2
worin R2 für eine C2 bis C6-Alkylgruppe steht.
6. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmiitels nach Anspruch 5, wobei das tertiäre Amin aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt wird, umfassend Bis-dimethylaminoethylether, Tris(2-hydroxyethyl)amin, Tris(2-hydroxypropyl)amin, Tributanolamin, Bis(2- hydroxyethyl)-methylamin, 2-Diethylaminoethanol, 2-Dimethylaminoethanol, 3- Dimethylamino-1-propanol, 3-Diethylamino-1-propanol, 2- Diisopropylaminoethanol, N,N-Bis(2-hydroxypropyl)methylamin
(Methyldiisopropanolamin, MDI PA), Ν,Ν,Ν',Ν'-Tetramethylethylendiamin, N,N- Diethyl- N',N'-dimethylethylendiamin,N, Ν,Ν',Ν'-Tetraethylethylendiamin, N, N.N'.N'-Tetramethylpropandiamin.N.N.N'.N'-Tetraethylpropandiamin, N,N- Dimethyl-N'.N'-diethylethylendiamin, 2-(2-Dimethylaminoethoxy)-N,N- dimethylethanamin; 1 ,4-Diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO); Ν,Ν,Ν'- Trimethylaminoethylethanolamin, N, N'-Dimethylpiperazin und Ν,Ν'- Bis(hydroxyethyl)piperazin.
7. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels nach Anspruch 5, wobei das sterisch
gehinderte Amin aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt wird, umfassend 2-Amino-2-methyl- 1-propanol, 2-Amino-2-methyl-1-butanol, 3-Amino-3-methyl-1 -butanol, 3-Amino-3- methyl-2-pentanol und 1-Amino-2-methylpropan-2-ol.
8. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels nach Anspruch 5, wobei die 5-, 6-, oder 7- gliedrigen gesättigten Heterocyclen aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt werden, umfassend, Piperazin Piperazin, 2-Methylpiperazin, N-Methylpiperazin, N- Ethylpiperazin, N-Aminoethylpiperazin, Homopiperazin, Piperidin und Morpholin.
9. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels nach Anspruch 5, wobei die primären oder sekundären Alkanolamine aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt werden, umfassend, 2- Aminoethanol, N,N-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amin, N,N-Bis(2-hydroxy-propyl)amin, 2- (Methylamino)ethanol, 2-(Ethylamino)ethanol, 2-(n-Butylamino)ethanol, 2-Amino-1- butanol, 3-Amino-1-propanol und 5-Amino-1pentanol.
10. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels nach Anspruch 5, wobei die Alkyldiamine aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt werden, umfassend, Hexamethylendiamin, 1 ,4- Diaminobutan, 1 ,3-Diaminopropan, 2,2-Dimethyl1 ,3-diaminopropan, 3- Methylaminopropylamin, 3-(Dimethylamino)propylamin, 3- (Diethylamino)propylamin, 4-Dimethylaminobutylamin und 5- Dimethylaminopentylamin, 1 ,1 ,N,N-Tetramethylethandiamin, 2,2, N,N- Tetramethyl-1 ,3-propandiamin, N,N'-Dimethyl-1 ,3-propandiamin, N,N'Bis(2- hydroxyethyl)ethylendiamin.
11. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels zum Entfernen von Kohlendioxid aus einem Fluidstrom nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, wobei der Fluidstrom mit dem Absorptionsmittel in Kontakt gebracht wird und das Absorptionsmittel mit C02 beladen wird.
12. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels zum Entfernen von Kohlendioxid aus einem Fluidstrom nach Anspruch 11 , wobei die Beladung des Absorptionsmittels mit C02 bei einem Partialdruck von < 200 mbar erfolgt.
13. Verwendung eines Absorptionsmittels zum Entfernen von Kohlendioxid aus einem Fluidstrom nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 12, wobei das beladene
Absorptionsmittel durch
i) Erwärmung,
ii) Entspannung,
iii) Strippen mittels durch interne Verdampfung des Lösungsmittels
erzeugten Strippdämpfen,
iv) Strippen mit einem inerten Fluid
oder einer Kombination zweier oder aller dieser Maßnahmen regeneriert wird.
