Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a socket for a gemstone, in particular a socket for use in a watch, a ring, a pendant or the like, with a seat and at least one provided on the opposite side of the seat to the gem stone stop for limiting the tilting movement of the gemstone in which a bearing element is provided between the gemstone and the seat surface,
  • a simple version with a stop to limit the tilting movement of the gemstone is from the US 2010/0031701 known.
  • This intended for a ring version promises an improved glitter of the gemstone for the viewer, since the gemstone can move in its version without leaving it.
  • the said movement is quite limited and it is associated with the development of sounds such as rattling and further wear of the socket.
  • a version with the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from WO 02/06868 known in which a stop prevents falling out of the movable gemstone.
  • the US 2005/0160765 describes a further support for a gemstone, in which the socket element between an upper stop and an opposite recess is held such that it is rotatable about its longitudinal axis.
  • the present invention seeks to improve a version of the type mentioned so that it produces an increased gloss effect, causing no disturbing noise in the movement of the gem and less wears.
  • a bearing element which supports the movement as a pivot point and thereby forms a stop for the size of the pivoting movement
  • an optical effect is achieved, which is not superimposed by impact noises.
  • a socket base is provided which is mounted on the bearing element on the seat, the socket base has on its upper side at least one holding element for the gemstone, and that an annular stop element on the Seat opposite side of the socket base against a shoulder of the socket is provided as a stop for limiting the movement of the socket base with the gemstone.
  • the socket may additionally and in particular be distinguished by a hemispherical reflection surface above the socket, which reinforces the effect of light incident on the gemstone through the socket once again.
  • the Fig. 1 shows a schematic sectional view of a socket 10 for a gemstone 40 in a clock according to a first embodiment.
  • a watch glass 12 upwards.
  • sockets 10 for example, in cross-section of the representation of Fig. 1 correspond.
  • the Reference numeral 20 designates the seat surface of the socket in which an annular groove 21 is provided.
  • a rubber ring 22 is inserted, which protrudes slightly beyond the top 23 of the seat 20.
  • this torus of the rubber ring 22 has a spherically upwardly projecting seating surface for the gemstone 40 held in a separate socket base 30.
  • This rubber ring forms an elastic bearing element. It is also possible to use another material, in particular in the embodiments according to the other figures.
  • the socket base 30 may in particular with respect to the Fig. 1 devoted vertical be rotationally symmetric, which vertical is usually parallel to the axis of rotation of the clock.
  • the socket base 30 has in the illustrated embodiment, in particular via a downward relative to the seat 20 aligned convex bottom 34.
  • a receptacle 35 is provided centrally, which is designed to be complementary to the rubber ring 22. It is thus in particular a groove, which may be bent just or this due to the large diameter of the rubber ring 22.
  • the rubber ring 22 may also be referred to as an O-ring. Instead of rubber, it can also consist of another flexible material.
  • the socket base 30 does not extend in the socket receiving space 24 up to its lateral walls 25, so that the socket not only rotates relative to the vertical axis but can also be tilted.
  • the socket receiving space 24 is up through limited at least one shoulder 17 of the side wall 15 of the socket, which the diameter of the socket receiving space 24 delimiting sides 15 still leave a central opening 16 through which the socket wall 32 extends, which in example four at a distance of 90 degrees to each other standing teeth 33rd ends, which hold the gemstone 40 from above in the receiving space 31 of the socket.
  • the side 15 of the socket widened in the upper portion on the side opposite the socket base after the opening 16 in a hemispherical shape, wherein the center of curvature of this shape is aligned in the vicinity of the cover glass 60.
  • the side 15 is provided on the inside with the reference numeral 50 for a reflector, as this is to reflect the light escaping at a shallow angle from the ground side walls of the gemstone 40 upward light.
  • the reflector may consist of the reflective material of the side wall 15 itself, for example, be a shiny metal or reflective coated.
  • the cover glass 60 is shown for the socket, which rests in a Abdeckglasability 61 on the side walls 15. Under lateral walls 15 are due to the symmetry about the center axis of the socket in the form to understand hollow cylindrical walls.
  • the cover glass 60 may be mineral glass or sapphire glass. In other embodiments, the cover glass 60 can also be completely dispensed with in order to obtain the direct view of the gemstone 40.
  • an embodiment may be configured so that the watch glass 12 and the cover glass 60 is a one-piece glass element. Then the Fassungsabdeckglas would cover the whole clock and thus all, for example twelve, versions.
  • a circular flexible ring 37 is provided which in this Embodiment is inserted into a horizontal annular groove 36 above the base 34 of the socket 30.
  • This flexible ring 37 which may also be used at a distance about the side walls of the socket base 30, has a larger diameter than the diameter of the opening 16 at least in its outer regions, so that this rubber ring 37 at a tilting movement of the socket base 30 through this Shoulder 17 is stopped, so that the movement is limited by this rubber ring 37 with the shoulder 17 on one side and by the rubber ring 22 with the receptacle 35 on the other side.
  • the rubber ring 37 may be a closed O-ring of a flexible material to resiliently cushion the socket with the gemstone 40 in both directions.
  • the flexible ring 37 as well as the flexible ring 22 may also be configured as springs, such as disc springs.
  • the rubber ring 37 can also take over the suspension alone and protect the socket with the enclosing O-ring 37. Then, instead of the ring 22, a solution as in the Fig. 3 (Element 122) or 4 (element 222) may be provided.
  • the ring 37 may also be formed as a section-wise element, in particular as separate elements on the socket base 30, which are arranged at predetermined angular intervals around the gemstone 40; so that in sections, these preferably give yielding stop surfaces.
  • the Fig. 2 shows in a schematic plan view what the user sees of the socket and the central gem stone 40. This is the center of the surface 41 of the gemstone 40, and the four here at an angular distance of 90 degrees to each other arranged holding teeth 33 of the socket base, which can move according to the possibilities of the breakthrough space 16.
  • the free space of the cover glass is referred to, which is also equal to the reflector 50 in the area outside the opening 16. Outside the cover glass 60, the side wall 15 can be seen, which extends in the inner portion of the clock in the watch glass 12 on.
  • the Fig. 3 shows a schematic, partial perspective and partially sectional view of an inventive version of a gemstone 40 according to a second embodiment.
  • a receiving recess 121 is provided, in which a resilient plastic element 122 is inserted.
  • the compliant plastic member 122 may be a rubber bullet or a rubber stud which, in principle, forms a ball bearing as a bearing member for the socket base.
  • This plastic element 122 is designed to be substantially complementary to the spherical receptacle 121, or the curvature of the spherical receptacle 121 has a greater radius than the curvature of the plastic element 122, while it is flat in its upper region, for example, according to the plan circular receptacle 135 in FIG the base of the base 30.
  • the bottom 134 of the socket base 30 may also be flat, as long as the distance between this bottom 134 and the top 23 of the seat is sufficiently large to allow the tilting movement of the socket with the gemstone 40. This distance can then set the maximum tilt angle in a similar manner as the distance of the shoulder 17 to the rubber ring 37 in accordance Fig. 1 or the embodiment in the yet to be described Fig. 4 ,
  • plastic element 122 (or also of the element 222 in FIG Fig. 4 ) may also be provided a spring, in particular a steel spring, which is supported in the recesses 121 and 135; when stored instead of the element 222 in the Fig. 4 the one free spring end would lay around the area of the top 235 of the stone 40.
  • a spring in particular a steel spring, which is supported in the recesses 121 and 135; when stored instead of the element 222 in the Fig. 4 the one free spring end would lay around the area of the top 235 of the stone 40.
  • the rubber ring 37 is only loosely wrapped around the socket base 30 and forms with the shoulder 17 in addition to the opening 16 of the wall 15, the abutment and also one or the limit for the tilting movement of the gemstone 40;
  • the two pairs of stops 23-34 and 17-37 can set substantially the same angle.
  • Fig. 3 In the perspective view of Fig. 3 Here are three teeth 33 of the version of the gemstone 40 can be seen. With only the wall thickness of the reflector 50th having side wall 15 this goes over in the upper area in a cover 115 over.
  • the upper cover wall 115 corresponds to a section through the Lunettenthesis; in the Fig. 2 the side wall 15. It is at the Fig. 3 has been dispensed with the representation of a final glass. This can be like the 60 glass in the Fig. 1 be provided and used. In a sporty watch the closing glass is usually necessary to avoid pollution, in a pure jewelry watch you can do without it.
  • the seat 20 here simultaneously forms the side wall 15.
  • the top 223 of the seat 20 is spherical with a focal point which lies in the plane of the cover 60. In this respect, this upper side 223 simultaneously forms the reflector 50 for the gemstone 40.
  • the receptacle 221 is provided, which is here a rectangular or round depression, in which a synthetic sapphire 222 is used, the centrally has a recess which produces the receptacle 235 of the formed by the gem 40 socket base 30.
  • the sapphire 222 thus has, for example, the shape of a cylinder in which a cone-shaped cutout is centrally introduced as a receptacle 235, wherein the cone opening is greater than the angle of the tip of the gemstone 40, or if this is not a round truncated cone but a pyramidal stump, greater than the largest angle of the corresponding pyramid.
  • the stone sits in the depth of the socket, that the reflector behind the stone is relatively flat, then to climb laterally next to the stone steep.
  • the reflector 50 behind and below the gemstone 40 is relatively flat, that the inclination to a cover glass 60 corresponding level is low, for example between 5 and 30 degrees, then laterally to rise next to the gem stone 40, and thereby, for example between 30 and 80 degrees.
  • the limitation of the tilting movement of the gemstone 40 is here by the small distance between the top 41 of the gemstone 40 and the bottom 62 of the Cover glass 60 generates to the effect that, when tilted, these upper side 41 and lower side 62 touch, which corresponds to the contact of the upper side of the rubber ring 37 with the underside of the shoulder 17.
  • This feature of the use of the cover glass 60 with respect to the substantially flat top 41 of the gem can with the features of the embodiments according to Fig. 1 to 3 be combined.
  • the sapphire 222 forms the bearing element and has the concave receiving opening 235 into which the gemstone 40 can be inserted. In a variation of this embodiment, it is not the lower tip of the gemstone 40 itself but a socket base of the gemstone 40 that is used. In both cases, this receiving opening 235 directly or indirectly forms a pivot point for the gemstone 40th
  • the distance between the flat surface 41 of a gemstone 40 to be used here and the underside 62 of the cover glass 60 may be selected in conjunction with the average diameter of the gemstone 40 and its height between the top 40 and the receptacle 235 preferably so that a Tilt angle between 0 and a maximum angle of, for example, 5, 15, 25, 30 or 35 degrees can set.
  • a Tilt angle between 0 and a maximum angle of, for example, 5, 15, 25, 30 or 35 degrees
  • the cover glass 60 is a sapphire crystal.
