Claims (8)

- The carding machine (1) according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the means (23, 46, 47) for adjusting the space (22) are controllable in such a manner that the adjusting force (F) is variable.
- The carding machine (1) according to claim 3, characterized in that the means (23, 46, 47) can be displaced with respect to their position.
- The carding machine (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the magnitude of the adjusting force (F) can be adjusted by changing the electrical supply to an electromagnet.
- A method for carding of fiber flocks with a carding machine (1) comprising a drum (4) and a working element (7, 8, 9) which spans a working width (B) of the drum (4) and is mounted in a stationary manner on both sides outside of the working width (B), wherein the drum (4) is provided with a clothing (16) arranged opposite of the working element (7, 8, 9) thereby forming a space (22) between the clothing (16) of the drum (4) and the working element (7, 8, 9), characterized in that the space (22) is adjusted along its extension across the working width (B) of the drum (4), wherein the adjustment is carried out with a magnetic force (F).
- The method according to claim 6, characterized in that the adjustment of the space (22) is achieved by deforming the working element (7, 8, 9).
- Use of a working element (7, 8, 9) in a carding machine (1) according to any one of the claims 1 to 5, characterized in that a means (23, 46, 47) for generating an adjusting force (F) is provided and said means (23, 46, 47) is a permanent magnet or an electromagnet or a combination thereof.
