Definitions
- the present invention relates to a combination of a fall damping element and a connecting means, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Lanyard shock absorbers are used to secure people in areas prone to falling. They are attached at one end to the belt of the person to be secured and at the other end to a fixed attachment point. Such connecting means always contain a fall-damping element, which reduces the force acting on the person in the fall of the fall forces in case of a crash, and a lengthening element, such as a rope or a webbing, with the necessary effective length is achieved. The fall-damping element can also be constructed over the entire length. Lanyards are described, for example, in EN 354 in conjunction with EN 355 for use in industry and occupational safety, and in EN 958 for use in sports and mountaineering.
- Disadvantage of the 1st and 3rd variant is that a shock absorber must be combined with a connecting means and there is no construction in which is damped over the entire length.
- Disadvantage of the 1st and 2nd variant is that a separate elastic element inside must be incorporated in the protective tube. This is on the one hand an additional part which has to be specially produced and processed. Secondly, the protective tube is thereby pushed together, which has a bellows effect and is disadvantageous in particular for a fall over an edge for the force curve.
- the protective cover is formed with a predetermined tear, so that when an extension of the fall damper in the longitudinal direction when intercepting a fall, the protective cover ruptures, so that the fall damper can stretch freely in the longitudinal direction and accordingly can catch the impact with reduced forces.
- energy is dissipated over a longer period of time by the expansion of the fall absorber, resulting in lower acceleration values when stopping the fall.
- the invention is based on the object, a connecting element of the above. To improve the type of handling and functional safety
- the hose band is formed of an elastic material.
- variable-length element comprises a fall-damping element and / or an elastically extensible element, in particular a rubber band.
- the hose band is formed as a supporting element of the connection means.
- variable-length element connects the connecting elements with each other and forms a bearing element of the connecting means.
- variable-length element does not extend over the entire length of the connecting means between the connecting elements, but the fall damper is connected at least one end, in particular at both ends, spaced from the respective connecting element with the hose band.
- At least one of the connecting elements in particular both connecting elements, designed as a snap hook or loop.
- An additional damping function of the impact shock receives the hose band characterized in that the hose band is formed such that it is contracted at unloaded fall damper and also expands this expanding damper this following.
- the further connecting element is formed on the fall damping element as a snap hook or loop.
- a connecting means 10 has at one end a first connecting element 12, that is for the releasably attach the connecting means 10 at an abutment point (not shown) is formed.
- a first receiving means 14 is formed, which is connected to a variable-length element in the form of a fall damping element 16.
- a second connecting element 18 is formed at a second end of the fall-damping element 16 opposite the first connecting element 12 , which is a second connecting element 18 with a second receiving means 20 to which the fall-damping element 16 is fastened.
- the fall-damping element 16 with a length L 22 is formed for example from a plurality of threads of a special filament yarn.
- a protective cover 24 in the form of a tubular band is provided.
- the fall-damping element 16 includes, for example, thermoplastic polymers.
- the receiving means 14 and 20 are used in the illustrated exemplary embodiment, respectively for securing the fall damping element 16 with the connecting elements 12 and 18. They can be integrated in the connecting means 10 or attached as separate elements on the connecting means 10, wherein also several connecting elements may be present, such as 2 rings.
- the receiving means 14, 20 may have no sharp but only rounded edges. They are made of metal, metal alloys, plastics or high-strength fibers.
- the material of the fall damping element 16, such as the filament yarn, has the property to expand in a fall of a secured with the connecting means 10 at a stop point person and reduce the forces occurring when intercepting the fall continuously.
- the protective cover 24 is also connected at its ends to the connecting elements 12 and 18 and absorbs no or only a minimal force in a fall.
- the protective cover 24 is a supporting element of the connecting means 10.
- the protective cover 24 is made of an elastic material, which in the initial state of the unloaded fall damping element 16, as in Fig. 1 represented, in the contracted state and the fall damping element 16 accordingly surrounds with a smooth, not bellows-like folded surface.
- Fig. 2 shows a schematic representation of the connecting element under load.
- the connecting elements 12, 18 and the receiving means 14, 20 correspond to those of Fig. 1 ,
- the protective cover 24 has extended following the fall damping element 16 so that the fall damping element 16 can expand unhindered.
- the properties of the fall damping element 16, such as a Filamentgarnbündels, are designed so that the test standard according to the European standard EN 355 (1992) is best met. Accordingly, the filament gamma bundle under load until the complete standstill of the test mass (100 kg) an approximately constant force F ( ⁇ 6.0 kN). After deceleration of the mass, the fall damper has expanded by the length ⁇ L 26 and remains in this state.
- the connecting means 16 must be replaced after such a stress.
- the fall damping element 16 can be designed in various ways. Decisive for its properties is the material, the stretching behavior, the number of fibers, and the length. Get a combination of slings different length as a fall damping element 16 for use, the properties of the fall absorber arise as a superposition.
- plastics are preferably provided as fiber bundles.
- fiber bundles For example, polypropylenes with different expansion behavior are particularly well suited for damping the dynamic forces.
- the fall damping element 16 is formed as a single fiber bundle (loose, parallel fibers), as one or more loops, as a woven, knitted or braided band or as knitted, braided, twisted or twisted rope.
- the material used has different length and / or thickness.
- the fall damping element 16 may also be present as a cable core, which is braided or woven.
- the material used for the fall damping element is preferably a non-oriented or only partially oriented filament yarn (LOY, Low or POY, Partially Oriented Yam) is used ( Chemie Faser Lexikon, Hans J. Koslowski, Manualr fraverlag, 11th edition, pp. 95 and 137 (1997 )).
- a first expansion region of a force-elongation characteristic of the connecting means 10 the force absorption builds up rapidly. Thereafter, the yarn is characterized in a second, to the first subsequent expansion region by a constant force up to a value F kFaser over the longest possible extension range. This area is fully utilized for the uniform absorption of force of the shock absorber.
- the subsequent increase up to a multiple of the force with further expansion of the yarn in a third, to the second subsequent expansion region prevents rupture of the fall absorber under high stress.
- a gentle reduction of the fall rate is secured without loss of the falling body and in case of overload, the remaining forces of the impact are taken up to a standstill of the falling body.
- a fabric or a loop with more tear-resistant yarn (for example DYNEEMA) with the minimum length L + ⁇ L (length L 22 of FIG Fall damping element 16 plus extension length of the fall damper ⁇ L 26) are integrated into the connecting means 10. This prevents tearing of the connecting means 10 even with heavy overload.
- the protective cover 24 is a supporting part of the connecting means 10 and the fall damping element 16 is spaced from the connecting elements 12, 18 connected to the protective cover, so that the fall damping element 16 is not as in the Fig. 1 and 2 , extends over the entire length of the connecting means 10 between the connecting elements 12, 18, but only over a predetermined portion of the length of the protective cover 24.
- an elastically stretchable element is additionally arranged within the tubular band or the protective cover 24.
- an elastically extensible element is arranged within the tubular band or the protective cover 24 as a variable-length element.
- the elastically extensible element serves to increase a range of action of a person secured to the attachment means at an attachment point.
- both the elastically extensible element and the hose 24 follow from an elastic material of the movement of the secured person.
- the hose band or the protective cover 24 is optionally itself a supporting element of the connecting means 10 or merely fulfills the mechanical protective function. In the latter case, a supporting element is additionally present within the protective cover 24.
- the fall-damping element 16 and / or the elastically extensible element is this supporting element. However, it may also be provided an additional strap.

Description
- Fig.1
- Fig. 2
Fig. 1 und 2 dargestellte Ausführungsform ist lediglich beispielhaft.
