- a relaxation-rocking mode having a refresh effect a "relaxation rocking" is initiated to give a relaxation effect to a user for a predetermined period of time, after which the operation mode is switched from the "relaxation rocking" to "refresh rocking” until the operation mode ends.

- the controller 24 stops the operation of the air pump 49 at the same time when the body-supporting member 13 moves forward along the forward path so that the air bags 45 and 56 get contracted while the body-supporting member 13 makes one round-trip.
- the air pump 49 since the air pump 49 is operated at the high duty ratio in accordance with the forward motion of the body-supporting member 13, a user may have an improved feeling of the relaxation movement like an increase of floating of his/her body, yielding a more effective relaxation effect.
- the controller 24 controls the motor 20 to generate fluctuations in the amplitude of the body-supporting member 13 at the minimum value of the frequency, 0.2 Hz in the present embodiment, and to continue the rocking motion in order to let the user rest in sleep in the relaxation state.
- the controller 24 suspends the operation of the air pump 49 and the air bags 40 to 48 as well.
- the controller 24 controls the motor 24 to increase the frequency of the rocking motion in a piecewise manner, for example, from 0.2 Hz to 0.3 Hz, 0.4 Hz and 0.6 Hz, in order to induce a user in the sleep (or relaxation) state to an awakened state.
- the controller 24 controls the frequency change timings, for example, such that the frequency changes every ten round trips the rocking motion of the body-supporting member 13 makes. Further, the controller 24 controls the motor 20 such that the amplitude increases stepwise in synchronization with the frequency change timings.
- the controller 24 drives the air pump 49 to operate at its duty ratio of 100% to inflate the air bags 45 and 46 at the waist position which move in the same direction as the user's body, among the air bags 40 to 48 provided in the back portion 31 and the seat portion 30 of the body-supporting member 13.

- the air bags can take turns to inflate each time the body-supporting member 13 makes a round-trip, for example.
- the three air bags 42, 43 and 44 can take turns to inflate; that is, the air bags 42, 43 and 44 inflate at the first, second and third round-trips, respectively, of the body-supporting member 13 and the remaining air bags get contracted at the respective round-trips.
- the output of the air pump 49 during the respective inflation is configured as in the embodiment described above.
- the air pump 49 operates at a duty ratio of 100% to inflate the air bag 42 and contract the air bags 43 and 44, while, during the backward motion of the body-supporting member 13, the air pump 49 operates at a duty ratio of 70% to inflate the air bag 43 and contract the air bags 42 and 44.
- the air bags take turns to inflate and contract every time the body-supporting member 13 makes a one-way trip.
- the air pump 49 when the air bags 45 and 46 inflate during the relaxation rocking, it is configured that the air pump 49 operates at a duty ratio of 100% and 70% during the forward and backward motions, respectively, of the body-supporting member 13.
- the present invention is not limited to the above and other values of the duty ratio may be employed. The important point is to drive the air pump 49 at a duty ratio higher during the forward motion than during the backward motion of the body-supporting member 13.

- fluctuations may be imposed on the frequency instead or on both the amplitude and frequency.
- the controller 24 controls the motor 20 to change the frequency of the rocking motion of the body-supporting member 13 (the rectangular frame 25) in a range from 0.35 Hz to 0.2 Hz.
- controller 24 controls the motor 20 to change the frequency of the rocking motion of the body-supporting member 13 in other frequency bands for the relaxation rocking motion.
- the controller 24 controls the motor 20 to change the frequency of the rocking motion of the body-supporting member 13 (the rectangular frame 25) from 0.2 Hz to 0.6 Hz stepwise.
- the frequency of the rocking motion of the body-supporting member 13 may be changed from 0.2 Hz to 0.6 Hz stepwise.
- other frequency bands for the refresh rocking motion may be used.
- the controller 24 controls the motor 20 to increase the amplitude and frequency of the rocking motion in synchronization with each other. In a modified configuration, however, such synchronization is not necessary. In addition, either of the amplitude and frequency may be made to increase.

- a switch capable of changing the control of the respective parts by the controller 24 so that a user can selectively control the respective parts by using the switch as needed.
