Definitions
- the present invention relates to a glass pane arrangement having a first and a second glass pane, which are spaced apart from one another and by a spacer extending in the edge region, a first sealing element which extends in the edge region adjacent to the spacer and surrounds a glass pane interior, and a Filler located in the interior.
- the present invention further relates to a method for producing such a glass pane arrangement.
- Glass pane arrangements of the aforementioned type are used in a wide variety of applications. If these arrangements also meet fire protection requirements, in addition to the appropriate glass panes, a gel is used as a filler, which is transparent after its curing. This gel is in previous glass pane arrangements via an opening in the spacer and in Inserted sealing member into the interior, wherein the opening is then closed with a sealing element.
- an object of the present invention is to develop a glass pane arrangement of the aforementioned type so that the risk of air entering the interior is reduced, the production process should remain simple.
- a sleeve which extends from the interior through the sealing member to the outside and has a passage from the outside into the interior, wherein the passage is sealed by a second sealing member ,
- the first and the second sealing element are made of the same material.
- a two-component material preferably a two-component polysulfite sealing material is used as the material for the first and the second sealing element.
- the glass pane arrangement according to the invention is particularly advantageous when it is used for fire protection purposes, in which case the filler is a transparent gel which acts fire retardant in the event of fire and destruction of one of the two glass panes.
- the glass pane arrangement according to the invention can also be used for other purposes, in which case suitably adapted glass panes and corresponding fillers are used.
- the glass pane arrangement can have not only two but also more glass panes, which are each held at a distance from each other.
- the sleeve is made of metal and has a longitudinal region which is surrounded by a material which corresponds to the material of the spacer element and has a slightly greater height than the spacer element.
- the sleeve is formed so that it can fill a gap in the spacer, wherein further an opening through the sleeve remains in the interior. Due to the greater height, the material of the sleeve when inserting the second glass sheet is slightly squeezed and pressed laterally outwards, so that the material rests very well on the lateral spacer.
- the spacer element is made of a butyl material.
- the spacer element is applied to the first glass pane by spraying, wherein a gap is left into which the sleeve can be inserted.
- spraying it is also conceivable to apply the spacer in a different manner or hang up.
- the object underlying the invention is also achieved by a method for producing such a glass pane arrangement, which comprises the steps:
- a two-component sealing material is used as the sealing element, wherein after the sealing of the edge region, the first sealing element is cured.
- the sleeve has a plug which is inserted into the passage, and which is removed after curing of the first sealing member.
- This measure has the advantage that when applying the first sealing element no material can penetrate into the passage of the sleeve and thus could clog the opening in the interior.
- a fire protection gel is used as the filling material, which is cured after sealing the sleeve together with the second sealing element.
- a sleeve for such a glass pane arrangement which is characterized in that it is made of a material which forms a good connection with the sealing element, and in that a spacer element is provided on a longitudinal section, which corresponds in height to the spacer element of the glass pane arrangement.
- the spacer element opposite end of the sleeve is provided with a removable plug.
- This plug has the advantage that on the one hand it facilitates handling, in particular when placed on the first glass pane, and on the other hand ensures that nothing gets into the passage of the sleeve when the first sealing element is applied, which would prevent a subsequent filling of the interior ,
- Fig. Ia, Ib two schematic views of a glass sheet with applied spacer
- FIG. 2a - 2c different schematic views of a glass pane arrangement
- a glass sheet arrangement is shown in a side view and generally designated by the reference numeral 10.
- Such a glass pane arrangement 10 comprises a first glass pane 12 and a second glass pane 14.
- the two glass panes 12, 14 may be, for example, specially hardened glass which is very heat-resistant.
- the two glass panes 12, 14 are arranged parallel and spaced from each other, wherein the distance between the two glass panes 12, 14 is defined by a spacer element 16.
- This spacer 16 runs - as can be seen very well in FIGS. 1a and 1b - in the edge region of the glass panes 12, 14 and extends almost over the entire circumference of the glass pane. Only a small gap 18 releases the spacer element 16.
- the two glass panes 12, 14 and the spacer 16 enclose an interior, which is designated by the reference numeral 22.
- This interior 22 may be filled with different transparent materials, such as air, gas or transparent gels.
- the glass pane arrangement 10 has a sealing element 30 which extends over the entire circumference between the two glass panes 12, 14 and in front of the spacing element 16.
- the glass sheet assembly 10 further includes a sleeve 20 provided to permit communication between the inner space 22 through the spacer 16 and the sealing member 30 to the outside.
- a sleeve 20 provided to permit communication between the inner space 22 through the spacer 16 and the sealing member 30 to the outside. The structure and operation of this sleeve will be explained later.
- the glass pane arrangement 10 thus comprises the two glass panes 12, 14, the spacer element 16, the sealing element 30, as well as the sleeve 20, which in turn is filled with a sealing element. Furthermore, the glass pane arrangement 10 comprises a filler, which is in the interior 22.
- the distance element 16 is applied to the first glass pane 12, wherein butyl is usually used as the material which is sprayed on.
- the spacer element 16 extends, as shown in Fig. Ia, in the edge region of the glass sheet 12 over almost the entire circumference. Only a gap 18 remains free.
- the sleeve 20 is then inserted, which is clearly visible in Fig. 2c.
- the sleeve 20 comprises a sleeve body 24 which surrounds a passage 25 and at one longitudinal end has a spacer element 28 whose height is slightly greater than the height of the spacer element 16 and whose width corresponds to the width of the gap 18. The sleeve thus fits with the spacer 28 exactly in the gap 18th
- the passage 25 is closed at the outer longitudinal end with a plug 26, wherein the height of the plug corresponds approximately to the height of the spacer element 16.
- the plug 26 is designed so that it can be pulled out of the passage 25.
- the sleeve body 24 is made of metal, preferably stainless steel, while the spacer 28 is made of the same material as the spacer element 16, in the present embodiment, therefore, butyl.
- the second glass pane 14 is placed on the spacer element 16 or 28, so that it lies parallel to the first glass pane 12. Since the spacer 16 relative to the edge of the glass pane 12 and 14, respectively is set back slightly, creates an edge region 34, which is filled in the subsequent step with a sealing member 30.
- a corresponding representation is shown for example in FIGS. 4a to 4c.
- the sealing element 30 has the task of connecting the two glass panes 12, 14 to one another and, on the other hand, of sealing the interior 22 to the outside. However, the area around the plug 26 of the sleeve 20 remains free. The sealing element 30 does not enter this area.
- a two-component material such as polysulfite
- polysulfite a two-component material
- other materials especially two-component materials, may also be used provided they meet the above-mentioned criteria, namely, bonding and sealing.
- sealing member 30 is inserted into the edge region 34, the entire assembly of glass sheets 12, 14, spacer 16, sleeve 20 and sealing member 30 is placed in a furnace for curing.
- FIGS. 4a to 4c A corresponding representation can be found in FIGS. 4a to 4c. It can be clearly seen in this illustration that the sealing element 30 almost completely surrounds the sleeve body 24 of the sleeve 20, at least in a rear region.
- a filling device 40 In order subsequently to fill the interior 22 with a filler, in particular a gel, a filling device 40, as shown in FIGS. 5a to 5c, is used.
- the filling device 40 consists of a hose 44 and an outlet end or nozzle 42, which is inserted through the passage 25 of the sleeve 20 and projects into the interior 22. Through this hose 44 and the outlet end 42, the gel can now be filled into the interior 22.
- the im Interior 22 existing air is pressed through a gap 48 in the passage 25 to the outside. Once a predetermined amount of filler has been introduced into the interior 22, the outlet end 42 is withdrawn.
- a funnel-shaped element 46 is inserted into the sleeve body 24, whose narrow tubular end extends to the outside and on which a piece of tubing 47 is attached.
- the two glass panes 12, 14 are then slightly compressed, so that air possibly still present in the region of the passage 25 is forced out of the interior 22 outwards through the funnel-shaped element 46 into the tube 47.
- the funnel-shaped element 46 is, for example, closed by heat (for example, welded), so that no more filler can escape.
- the tube 47 is withdrawn, and a sealing member 30, for example in the form of polysulfite, is introduced into and around the passage 25.
- the glass sheet assembly 10 is passed into an oven to cure the gel present in the interior 22 and the existing material in the passage 25 for the sealing. Since the material used adheres very well to the inner wall of the sleeve body 24, a very good and tight connection is achieved, which ensures in any case that neither air nor moisture can penetrate into the interior 22.
- the glass pane arrangement 10 according to the invention offers clear advantages over the previous solutions, since the subsequent sealing of the passage 25 does not lead to any connection problems, due to the use of the sleeve 20, which provides a connecting layer between the two sealing materials, so to speak.
