- the invention relates to a method for producing a concrete sleeper, comprising the following steps: inserting prestressing steels into a sleeper mold, tensioning the prestressing steels, pouring concrete into the sleeper mold, allowing the concrete to harden and dismantling the concrete sleeper.
- sleeper molds are used, which are continuously in circulation. After cleaning the sleeper molds they are filled with liquid concrete, then they go through a vibrating station. The curing time of the filled in the emerging forms of liquid concrete can be shortened by heat, for example in a heat chamber. If the concrete has sufficient strength, the sleeper molds are raised and turned over to allow the concrete sleepers to disengage.
- Conventional concrete sleepers usually have four embedded prestressing steels, which are arranged in two rows and at a lateral distance from each other.
- sleepers with such a reinforcement are not or only partially suitable for high axle loads.
