- a plurality of thermal insulation panels 18 are disposed against the lower surface 2. Each panel 18 extends between two adjacent rails 6 and the plurality of panels is arranged to cover the entire bottom surface 2 except at the locations of the rails 6. Each panel 18 is for example made of several layers of thermal insulation material. Such materials are known to those skilled in the art and the panels 18 comply with the specifications required on the territories on which the railway vehicle must circulate.
- the upper surface of each panel 18, i.e. that which is applied against the lower surface 2 is coated with at least two double-sided adhesive tapes to allow positioning and holding of the panels 18 against the bottom surface 2 before their final fixation.
- the adhesive strips are for example made of an intumescent material. The adhesive strips are positioned on the edges of the panels 18 in the vicinity of the rails 6.
- Each panel 18 is further secured by two sheets 22, each attached to a rail 6 to which the panel 18 is adjacent.
