Definitions

  • the invention relates to a transport device for a band knife, in particular for a sharp band knife.
  • a sharp band knife is to be understood that the knife is either sharpened or that the knife after a labor is still so sharp that cuts without further protection measures can not be excluded.
  • the invention further relates to a band knife which can be used together with such a transport device.
  • the invention also relates to methods for mounting and dismounting a band blade, in particular a sharp band blade.
  • a band knife according to the aforementioned type is from the DE 38 15 130 A1 known. Furthermore, from the German patent 328 104 a band knife known which has holes to engage the drive pins of a drive wheel.
  • the disclosure DE-A-28 11 738 a tape cutter cassette for an endless band knife detachably connected to the machine base of a sledge machine for replacement or cleaning.
  • a band knife of the known type serves as a cutting tool for a splitting machine.
  • the band knife is usually designed in the form of an endless steel belt, which runs over two discs, of which at least one is driven.
  • a flap-like piece of leather is guided against the high-speed rotating band knife in order to split the piece of leather into two lobes of lesser thickness.
  • the bandknife To ensure consistently high quality of the cleavage process and to avoid tearing of the material rather than clean splitting, the bandknife must have a sharp cutting edge. On the other hand, injuries in handling the sharp band knife must be avoided.
  • the band knife When mounting the band knife, it is first put on the machine in a blunt manner and tensioned. The band knife is then driven and sharpened by means of a grinder provided on the splitting machine. The grinding device also serves for regular re-sharpening of the band blade during operation of the splitting machine.
  • the band knife can no longer be resharpened because it falls below the required width and should therefore be removed from the machine, it should be noted that the band knife usually still has such a sharpness that cuts can not be ruled out. Therefore, the band knife is blunted before removal. Only when this process is completed, the band knife may be removed from the splitting machine.
  • other requirements such as, for example, the purity of the band blade, which is achieved by dedusting, suction, wet cleaning or by sterilization in an autoclave, continue to be met.
  • an endless band knife with an end face designed as a cutting edge, in which serve at least two recesses for receiving retaining elements.
  • a transport device for an endless band knife especially for a sharp band knife, the one Housing element and at least two holding elements, which are designed for engagement in recesses of the band blade.
  • a band knife which is suitable for use with such a transport device, has at least two openings, can engage in the holding elements of the transport device.
  • a special feature of the invention is to be seen in that the steps that previously required a touch of the band knife, can now be performed without the user has to touch the band knife. Furthermore, it can be prevented that the band knife touches the transport device during transport, cleaning or other handling. Thus, in particular, a particularly complete cleaning and, if necessary, sterilization of the band blade within the transport device can be made possible.
  • the following description refers to a splitting machine by way of example. It should be noted, however, that the band knife, the transport device and the methods can also be applied to other devices, for example a suitably designed grinding machine that can accommodate a band knife on two discs.
  • the band knife Since the band knife has recesses for receiving retaining elements, it is now possible to hold the band blade by engaging or inserting retaining elements on the recesses. If the band knife is released on the splitting machine, a holder of the band blade is ensured by the engaging on the recesses retaining elements. The band knife can thus be removed from the splitting machine, without the knife itself, in particular not the cutting edge, must be touched.
  • a sharpened, sterilized band knife may be mounted on the splitter without contact with the band knife itself.
  • a band knife can be disassembled as follows. First, the band knife is in the assembled and tensioned state on the splitting machine. For disassembly, a transport device is first slipped over the band knife. In this case, a housing element of the transport device encloses the band blade so that the user can no longer come into contact with the cutting edge of the band blade already now.
  • the band blade In order to prepare the transfer of the band blade from the splitting machine to the transport device, now set the holding elements on recesses of the band blade. In a further step, the band blade is tensioned by means of the retaining elements on the recesses. This tightening ensures that the band knife remains in a fixed shape and does not simply return to its resting form, which is usually circular. The band knife is now taken over by the discs of the splitting machine on the holding elements under tension.
  • the transport device with the band knife, which is supported by the holding elements, can now be removed from the splitting machine.
  • the above steps are performed in reverse sequence. That is, first, a transport device with a band knife held therein via two discs of the splitting machine is placed so that the band blade is radially spaced or positioned to be partially touching on circumferential surfaces of the discs.
  • the band knife is taken over by the holding elements under tension on the discs of the splitting machine, the band knife is relaxed by means of the holding elements, the holding elements are removed and the transport device is removed without the band knife. In this case, no contact of the band blade is necessary, so that the band blade can be mounted sterile.
  • the elongate clamped shape within the transport device also facilitates sterilization in an autoclave. Thermal stresses that occur during autoclaving do not matter because the bandknife is held under tension.
  • the band blade on at least two pairs of recesses for receiving in each case a holding element.
  • a pair of recesses are to be understood as meaning two recesses which cooperate with the same holding element when the band knife is held in the transport device. Accordingly, a pair of recesses can be mentally associated with a retaining element, even if the band blade is outside the transport device.
  • the assignment of a pair of recesses is carried out in particular when two recesses with respect to a longitudinal axis of the Band knife approximately opposite.
  • the longitudinal axis of the band blade should be understood to mean that axis which runs parallel to the longest extent of the band blade when the band blade is mounted on the splitting machine. In a splitting machine with two discs, the longitudinal axis of the line through the two centers of the discs corresponds.
  • a retaining element may have two ends, of which the first end engages in a first recess of the pair and the second end engages in the second recess of the pair.
  • the recesses are designed as holes.
  • the cross section of the hole can have any shape.
  • the holes are circular, especially as a bore. It is particularly advantageous if the center axes of the holes extend substantially parallel to the surface normal of the band blade. It has been shown that the holes lead to no significant impairment of the stability and craft of the band blade.
  • the recesses are arranged in the middle between the cutting edge and the opposite end face of the band blade or on the remote from the cutting edge half of the band blade.
  • the transport device has a clamping element for receiving the band blade within the housing element under tension.
  • the shape of the band blade can be determined particularly well within the transport device.
  • this shape during transport, cleaning or other handling, for example by shock or thermal expansion, changes (and, for example, the housing element touches) or the band knife even dissolves from its holder.
  • the band knife is held in the transportable state by means of the holding elements only on the recesses of the band blade, without touching the housing element.
  • the term "transportable state” is to be understood as the state when the band knife is held by the holding element and is no longer mounted on a device.
  • the advantage of such an embodiment is that the band knife is very easy to clean and sterilize. Except for the small, almost punctiform points of contact, each area of the band knife is exposed and can be easily cleaned and sterilized. It is particularly possible to introduce the band knife with the transport device in an autoclave.
  • the holding elements cooperate with a pair of recesses for holding the band blade together.
  • the holding elements are detachably received on the housing element and preferably guided in each case in recesses of the housing element.
  • the holding elements can be separated from the transport device. This allows a particularly simple handling of the fixing and loosening of the band blade with respect to the transport device. If the retaining element is then inserted into the housing element, then the retaining element also leads in each case through the corresponding recesses of the band blade. In the preferred embodiment, the holding elements are then also guided in recesses of the housing element. This procedure is simple and inexpensive.
  • the holding elements are designed as elongated rod-shaped elements.
  • the holding elements each have a peripheral groove on their ends engaging the recesses of the band blade.
  • the circumferential groove of a holding element interacts with the edge of an associated recess, in that the edge comes to lie in the circumferential groove during clamping of the band blade.
  • a displacement of the band blade relative to the holding element is then only in a very limited play within the circumferential groove possible, if not already due to the clamping force movement of the band blade is prevented. So the position of the band knife can be securely fixed.
  • the holding elements are guided in the housing element substantially parallel to each other.
  • the insertion and removal of the holding elements can be simplified.
  • the clamping element is designed for a substantially parallel displacement of the holding elements to each other.
  • the clamping element can easily cause the tensioning of the band blade.
  • the holding elements are moved away from each other, i. the distance between the holding elements is increased.
  • the band blade consists of a material which has only a very low elasticity in the longitudinal direction, the actual path of the displacement of the retaining elements relative to one another is not decisive for the tension of the band blade. Rather, the force that is transmitted by the clamping element by means of the holding elements on the band blade, the size to be observed.
  • the clamping element In order to relax the band knife during or after assembly on the splitter with respect to the transport device, the clamping element is relaxed. Due to the back pressure of the band blade, the holding elements move toward each other, possibly only slightly, as already explained above.
  • the clamping element is designed as a pivotable bracket with a handle part and a lever part.
  • the voltage can also be achieved with one or more spring elements, which can be designed in particular as helical springs and can apply at least one holding element with a force for tensioning the band blade.
  • the housing has a base element and at least one wall element.
  • the wall element can cover in particular the entire width of the tape knife to be received, so that the housing element can enclose the band blade and is open only on the side which faces during the assembly or disassembly of the splitting machine.
  • the housing element is closed with inserted band blade by means of a housing cover.
  • the band knife can be transported in the closed transport device, while for cleaning and possibly sterilization of the lid for better access of detergent or steam can be removed.
  • the band blade on the intervertebral discs is initially set so that each a pair of mutually associated recesses is opposite.
  • a suitable marking can be provided on the splitting machine, which makes this position visually recognizable.
  • an elongate, rod-shaped holding element is then inserted through a pair of associated recesses in order to hold the band blade with the ends of the holding elements at the recesses.
  • the band blade on the splitting machine when disassembling the band blade after tensioning the band blade by means of the holding elements on the transport device, the band blade on the splitting machine is relaxed.
  • the band blade when mounting the band blade before relaxing the band blade by means of the holding elements in the transport device, the band blade is clamped on the splitting machine.
  • Fig. 1 shows a transport device 10 with which a band knife 12 is to be mounted on a splitting machine 14. Since the operation of a splitting machine 14 is known, only the intervertebral discs 16, 18 and the gap region 20 are provided with reference numerals for further explanation.

  • the band blade 12 touches the holding elements 24, 26 only at very small contact surfaces. Further contact, in particular with the housing element 22, can thus be avoided. As a result, the band blade 12 can, on the one hand, be cleaned and sterilized very well within the transport device 10. On the other hand, the band blade 12 is protected against possible mechanical damage that might occur upon contact of the housing member 22.
