Description

The invention relates to a transport device for a band knife, in particular for a sharp band knife. The term "sharp" is to be understood that the knife is either sharpened or that the knife after a labor is still so sharp that cuts without further protection measures can not be excluded.

The invention further relates to a band knife which can be used together with such a transport device.

Finally, the invention also relates to methods for mounting and dismounting a band blade, in particular a sharp band blade.

A band knife according to the aforementioned type is from the DE 38 15 130 A1 known. Furthermore, from the German patent 328 104 a band knife known which has holes to engage the drive pins of a drive wheel.

Furthermore, the disclosure DE-A-28 11 738 a tape cutter cassette for an endless band knife detachably connected to the machine base of a sledge machine for replacement or cleaning.

A band knife of the known type serves as a cutting tool for a splitting machine. The band knife is usually designed in the form of an endless steel belt, which runs over two discs, of which at least one is driven.

In a splitting operation, for example, a flap-like piece of leather is guided against the high-speed rotating band knife in order to split the piece of leather into two lobes of lesser thickness.

To ensure consistently high quality of the cleavage process and to avoid tearing of the material rather than clean splitting, the bandknife must have a sharp cutting edge. On the other hand, injuries in handling the sharp band knife must be avoided.

In order to meet these requirements, the following working process has become established: When mounting the band knife, it is first put on the machine in a blunt manner and tensioned. The band knife is then driven and sharpened by means of a grinder provided on the splitting machine. The grinding device also serves for regular re-sharpening of the band blade during operation of the splitting machine.

If the band knife can no longer be resharpened because it falls below the required width and should therefore be removed from the machine, it should be noted that the band knife usually still has such a sharpness that cuts can not be ruled out. Therefore, the band knife is blunted before removal. Only when this process is completed, the band knife may be removed from the splitting machine.

Although this practice is widely used and basically practicable, in practice problems arise in certain applications.

Both sharpening and blunting a band knife can cause metal fragments or large to very fine dust particles. However, this is unacceptable in terms of purity requirements in food industry or medical applications. In such a case, especially if clean room conditions are to be met, it would therefore be advantageous if the band knife were not sharpened on the splitting machine.

However, this means that the band knife in the sharpened state would have to be implemented by the grinding apparatus on the splitting machine. Since the band knife is usually ground razor-sharp, the user can already inflict severe cuts on the slightest carelessness. Therefore, such a procedure requires appropriate measures to prevent a risk of injury.

Against this background, it is an object of the present invention to provide a low-cost band knife and a conveyor device for a band knife, as well as methods for securely mounting and dismounting a band blade, which allow easier handling of a sharp band blade under clean room conditions. In particular, other requirements, such as, for example, the purity of the band blade, which is achieved by dedusting, suction, wet cleaning or by sterilization in an autoclave, continue to be met.

wird nach einem Aspekt der Erfindung mit einem endlosen Bandmesser mit einer als Schneidkante ausgeführten Stirnfläche gelöst, bei dem mindestens zwei Ausnehmungen zur Aufnahme von Halteelementen dienen.is achieved according to one aspect of the invention with an endless band knife with an end face designed as a cutting edge, in which serve at least two recesses for receiving retaining elements.

This object is achieved by a transport device for an endless band knife, especially for a sharp band knife, the one Housing element and at least two holding elements, which are designed for engagement in recesses of the band blade.

A band knife, which is suitable for use with such a transport device, has at least two openings, can engage in the holding elements of the transport device.

The object of the invention is further achieved by a method for dismantling a band blade, comprising the steps:
  • Placing a transport device over the band knife held on the splitting machine on two discs, such that the band knife is at least partially enclosed by a housing element of the transport device,
  • Attaching at least two retaining elements held on the housing element to recesses of the band blade,
  • Tensioning of the band blade by means of the retaining elements on the recesses,
  • Applying the band knife from the discs of the splitting machine to the holding elements under tension, and
  • Removing the transport device with the band knife from the splitting machine.

Finally, the object of the invention is also achieved with a method for mounting a band blade, with the steps:
  • Providing a transport device in which a band knife is held taut by at least two retaining elements accommodated on a housing element at recesses of the band blade,
  • Placing the transport device over two discs of the splitting machine such that the band knife is positioned radially spaced apart from or partially contacting peripheral surfaces of the discs,
  • Applying the band knife from the holding elements under tension on the discs of the splitting machine,
  • Relaxing the band blade by means of the retaining elements on the recesses,
  • Remove the retaining elements from the recesses of the band blade, and
  • Removing the transport device without the band knife from the splitting machine.

A special feature of the invention is to be seen in that the steps that previously required a touch of the band knife, can now be performed without the user has to touch the band knife. Furthermore, it can be prevented that the band knife touches the transport device during transport, cleaning or other handling. Thus, in particular, a particularly complete cleaning and, if necessary, sterilization of the band blade within the transport device can be made possible.

To simplify the understanding of the following explanations, the following description refers to a splitting machine by way of example. It should be noted, however, that the band knife, the transport device and the methods can also be applied to other devices, for example a suitably designed grinding machine that can accommodate a band knife on two discs.

Since the band knife has recesses for receiving retaining elements, it is now possible to hold the band blade by engaging or inserting retaining elements on the recesses. If the band knife is released on the splitting machine, a holder of the band blade is ensured by the engaging on the recesses retaining elements. The band knife can thus be removed from the splitting machine, without the knife itself, in particular not the cutting edge, must be touched.

Likewise, a sharpened, sterilized band knife may be mounted on the splitter without contact with the band knife itself.

According to the invention, a band knife can be disassembled as follows. First, the band knife is in the assembled and tensioned state on the splitting machine. For disassembly, a transport device is first slipped over the band knife. In this case, a housing element of the transport device encloses the band blade so that the user can no longer come into contact with the cutting edge of the band blade already now.

In order to prepare the transfer of the band blade from the splitting machine to the transport device, now set the holding elements on recesses of the band blade. In a further step, the band blade is tensioned by means of the retaining elements on the recesses. This tightening ensures that the band knife remains in a fixed shape and does not simply return to its resting form, which is usually circular. The band knife is now taken over by the discs of the splitting machine on the holding elements under tension.

The transport device with the band knife, which is supported by the holding elements, can now be removed from the splitting machine.

For mounting the band blade, which is held in a transport device, the above steps are performed in reverse sequence. That is, first, a transport device with a band knife held therein via two discs of the splitting machine is placed so that the band blade is radially spaced or positioned to be partially touching on circumferential surfaces of the discs.

The band knife is taken over by the holding elements under tension on the discs of the splitting machine, the band knife is relaxed by means of the holding elements, the holding elements are removed and the transport device is removed without the band knife. In this case, no contact of the band blade is necessary, so that the band blade can be mounted sterile.

The elongate clamped shape within the transport device also facilitates sterilization in an autoclave. Thermal stresses that occur during autoclaving do not matter because the bandknife is held under tension.

Thus, the above task is completely solved.

In one embodiment of the invention, the band blade on at least two pairs of recesses for receiving in each case a holding element.

A pair of recesses are to be understood as meaning two recesses which cooperate with the same holding element when the band knife is held in the transport device. Accordingly, a pair of recesses can be mentally associated with a retaining element, even if the band blade is outside the transport device.

In this case, the assignment of a pair of recesses is carried out in particular when two recesses with respect to a longitudinal axis of the Band knife approximately opposite. The longitudinal axis of the band blade should be understood to mean that axis which runs parallel to the longest extent of the band blade when the band blade is mounted on the splitting machine. In a splitting machine with two discs, the longitudinal axis of the line through the two centers of the discs corresponds.

A retaining element may have two ends, of which the first end engages in a first recess of the pair and the second end engages in the second recess of the pair.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the recesses are designed as holes.

In this way, a simple and secure mounting of the band blade relative to the holding element can be achieved. In principle, the cross section of the hole can have any shape. However, stability and manufacturing advantages are expected if the holes are circular, especially as a bore. It is particularly advantageous if the center axes of the holes extend substantially parallel to the surface normal of the band blade. It has been shown that the holes lead to no significant impairment of the stability and craft of the band blade.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the recesses are arranged in the middle between the cutting edge and the opposite end face of the band blade or on the remote from the cutting edge half of the band blade.

If one chooses the recesses in the middle between the cutting edge and the opposite end face of the band blade, then there is a good mechanical stability and balanced recording of the band blade under tension. On the other hand, if the recesses are arranged on the half of the band blade remote from the cutting edge, a possible mechanical effect of the recesses on the cutting edge can be minimized or prevented.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the transport device has a clamping element for receiving the band blade within the housing element under tension.

As a result, the shape of the band blade can be determined particularly well within the transport device. In addition, it can be prevented that this shape during transport, cleaning or other handling, for example by shock or thermal expansion, changes (and, for example, the housing element touches) or the band knife even dissolves from its holder.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the band knife is held in the transportable state by means of the holding elements only on the recesses of the band blade, without touching the housing element.

The term "transportable state" is to be understood as the state when the band knife is held by the holding element and is no longer mounted on a device. The advantage of such an embodiment is that the band knife is very easy to clean and sterilize. Except for the small, almost punctiform points of contact, each area of the band knife is exposed and can be easily cleaned and sterilized. It is particularly possible to introduce the band knife with the transport device in an autoclave.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the holding elements cooperate with a pair of recesses for holding the band blade together.

So can be achieved with relatively little effort reliable holding the band blade within the transport device.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the holding elements are detachably received on the housing element and preferably guided in each case in recesses of the housing element.

In this embodiment, the holding elements can be separated from the transport device. This allows a particularly simple handling of the fixing and loosening of the band blade with respect to the transport device. If the retaining element is then inserted into the housing element, then the retaining element also leads in each case through the corresponding recesses of the band blade. In the preferred embodiment, the holding elements are then also guided in recesses of the housing element. This procedure is simple and inexpensive.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the holding elements are designed as elongated rod-shaped elements.

This allows a simple interaction with the housing element with ease of use. Such retaining elements can be easily guided through the recesses in the band blade and inserted into recesses on the housing element.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the holding elements each have a peripheral groove on their ends engaging the recesses of the band blade.

The circumferential groove of a holding element interacts with the edge of an associated recess, in that the edge comes to lie in the circumferential groove during clamping of the band blade. A displacement of the band blade relative to the holding element is then only in a very limited play within the circumferential groove possible, if not already due to the clamping force movement of the band blade is prevented. So the position of the band knife can be securely fixed.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the holding elements are guided in the housing element substantially parallel to each other.

In this embodiment, the insertion and removal of the holding elements can be simplified.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the clamping element is designed for a substantially parallel displacement of the holding elements to each other.

By means of the parallel displacement, the clamping element can easily cause the tensioning of the band blade. To tension the band knife, the holding elements are moved away from each other, i. the distance between the holding elements is increased.

Since the band blade consists of a material which has only a very low elasticity in the longitudinal direction, the actual path of the displacement of the retaining elements relative to one another is not decisive for the tension of the band blade. Rather, the force that is transmitted by the clamping element by means of the holding elements on the band blade, the size to be observed.

In order to relax the band knife during or after assembly on the splitter with respect to the transport device, the clamping element is relaxed. Due to the back pressure of the band blade, the holding elements move toward each other, possibly only slightly, as already explained above.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the clamping element is designed as a pivotable bracket with a handle part and a lever part.

This allows a cost-effective and simple realization of the clamping element described above. The force exerted by a bracket in the form of a wire hanger on the holding elements is sufficient for many applications. If a higher clamping force is desired or required, this can be achieved by a more stable or reinforced version of the bracket. The resilient property of the (wire) bracket is advantageous for the compensation of the previously described loads (vibration, expansion).

It should be noted that the voltage can also be achieved with one or more spring elements, which can be designed in particular as helical springs and can apply at least one holding element with a force for tensioning the band blade.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the housing has a base element and at least one wall element.

In this way, a cost-effective housing element can be created. In this case, the wall element can cover in particular the entire width of the tape knife to be received, so that the housing element can enclose the band blade and is open only on the side which faces during the assembly or disassembly of the splitting machine.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the housing element is closed with inserted band blade by means of a housing cover.

Thus, the band knife can be transported in the closed transport device, while for cleaning and possibly sterilization of the lid for better access of detergent or steam can be removed.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the band blade on the intervertebral discs is initially set so that each a pair of mutually associated recesses is opposite. For this purpose, a suitable marking can be provided on the splitting machine, which makes this position visually recognizable. Then, an elongate, rod-shaped holding element is then inserted through a pair of associated recesses in order to hold the band blade with the ends of the holding elements at the recesses.

In a further embodiment of the invention, when disassembling the band blade after tensioning the band blade by means of the holding elements on the transport device, the band blade on the splitting machine is relaxed.

This ensures that the band knife is taken over by the transport device in the tensioned state.

In a further embodiment of the invention, when mounting the band blade before relaxing the band blade by means of the holding elements in the transport device, the band blade is clamped on the splitting machine.

This ensures that the band knife is taken over by the splitting machine in the tensioned state.

It is understood that the features mentioned above and those yet to be explained below can be used not only in the particular combination given, but also in other combinations or in isolation, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Fig. 1 shows a transport device 10 with which a band knife 12 is to be mounted on a splitting machine 14. Since the operation of a splitting machine 14 is known, only the intervertebral discs 16, 18 and the gap region 20 are provided with reference numerals for further explanation.

The aim of mounting the band blade 12 is to tension the band blade 12 around the discs 16, 18.

The transport device 10 shown has a housing element 22 and two holding elements 24, 26. Each of the retaining elements 24, 26 has two ends 28, which serve to hold the band blade 12. In the view shown only one end 28 of a holding element 24, 26 is visible in each case.

The holding elements 24, 26 are designed as elongated rod-shaped elements, which are guided substantially parallel to each other. The holding elements 24, 26 are guided in recesses 34 of the housing element 22. In the view shown here, only the upper recesses 34 can be seen, while the lower recesses 34 are concealed on the opposite side of the housing element 22. The holding elements 24, 26 can be pulled out of the recesses 34 in the case of the transport device 10 shown here.

On the housing element 22, a support element 36 is arranged with two handle elements 38. The support member 36 is further provided with guide sleeves 40. In conjunction with guide pins 42 which are attached to the splitting machine 14, can be so Accurate positioning of the transport device 10 relative to the splitting machine 14 and in particular to the discs 16, 18 and the gap region 20 achieve.

The transport device 10 also has a tensioning element 44. The clamping element 44 is mounted pivotably about an axis 46 and designed as a bracket (here a wire hanger). The clamping element 44 has a gripping part 48 and a lever part 50, wherein the lever part 50 in this view, however, for the most part is covered by the housing element 22.

The clamping element 44 makes it possible to displace the holding elements 24, 26 relative to each other. In the embodiment shown here, the relative displacement is achieved by a displacement of the retaining element 24 to each other. However, such a displacement can also be achieved by the movement of both holding elements 24, 26. The operation of the clamping element 44 will be explained in more detail later.

The housing element 22 has a bottom element 52 and wall elements 54. In addition, the housing element 22 has attachment regions 56 on which a housing cover 58 (in the Fig. 2 symbolically shown) for covering the housing member 22 can be attached.

It is advantageous if the attachment of the housing cover 58 is effected by means of clip elements. Such a housing cover 58 would on the - in the Fig. 2 shown - rear side of the transport device 10 attached.

Fig. 2 zeigt die rückwärtige Ansicht der Transportvorrichtung 10. Fig. 2 shows the rear view of the transport device 10. The holder of the band blade 12 can now be seen better. The band knife 12 has an inner and an outer band surface 60, 62. The end face, which faces the bottom member 52, is designed as a cutting edge 64. On the belt surface 60 recesses 66 are arranged, which are designed here as through holes.

If a pair of recesses 66 is discussed below in connection with this exemplary embodiment, this refers to the recesses 66, which lie opposite each other in the transportable state with respect to a longitudinal axis of the band blade 12 accommodated in the transport device 10.

Considering the positioning of one of the holding elements 24, 26, it can be seen that the holding elements 24, 26 are each guided in an upper and a lower recess 34 of the housing member 22 and go through the respectively associated pair of recesses 66.

The special feature is that the band blade 12 touches the holding elements 24, 26 only at very small contact surfaces. Further contact, in particular with the housing element 22, can thus be avoided. As a result, the band blade 12 can, on the one hand, be cleaned and sterilized very well within the transport device 10. On the other hand, the band blade 12 is protected against possible mechanical damage that might occur upon contact of the housing member 22.

Furthermore, it can be seen that the lever part 50 of the clamping element 44 in the tensioned state exerts a force in the direction of the arrow both in the upper region (here concealed) and in the lower region of the retaining element 24. As a result, the band blade 12 is kept taut within the transport device 10.

Fig. 3 shows a detailed view of the holding member 24, the end 28 has a circumferential groove 30. The state is shown after the holding element 24 has penetrated the recess 66 and the clamping element 44 has been tensioned. It can be seen that an edge of the recess 66 is now in the circumferential groove 30. As a result, movements of the band blade 12 along the holding element 24, in this case in the vertical direction, can be prevented.

With reference to the Fig. 3 It should again be noted that the band blade 12 rests only at very small contact points on the holding elements 24, 26.

Having explained the figures, a method for mounting a band blade 12 will now be described by way of example.

Fig. 2 shows the position in which the band knife 12 has been transported within the transport device 10. The housing cover 58 has already been removed from the visible here back of the transport device 10.

The discs 16, 18 of the splitting machine 14 are in a position in which the band blade 12 can be mounted, i. one of the discs 16, 18 has been moved by a certain amount towards the other disc in a relaxed position.

By means of the gripping elements 38, the transport device 10 is positioned to the splitting machine 14 so that the guide pins 42 can be inserted into the guide sleeves 40. This ensures that the band blade 12 is correctly positioned with respect to the intervertebral discs 16, 18 and the gap area 20.

The transport device 10 is then pushed so far in the direction of the splitting machine 14, that the band blade 12 is radially spaced, possibly also touching, to peripheral surfaces of the discs 16, 18 is positioned.

Now, the band knife 12 is first stretched on the splitting machine 14 by the distance between the discs 16, 18 is increased.

During transport, the band knife 12 was kept taut within the transport device 10. This tension is now released by pulling on the grip element 48 of the tensioning element 44. Since the band knife 12 already on the discs 16, 18 of the splitting machine is held, the holding elements 24, 26 can now be pulled out.

Finally, the transport device 10 can now be removed without the band blade 12. In this way, a sharp band knife 12 can be securely mounted on a splitting machine 14 without the band knife 12 itself must be touched.

In order to disassemble the band blade 12 from the splitting machine 14, the procedure described above is performed in reverse order.

First, the transport device 10, guided by the guide pin 42, pushed so far onto the splitting machine 14, that the transport device 10 is slipped over the band blade 12. Then, the holding members 24, 26 are inserted into the recesses 34 of the housing member 22 so that they each lead through a pair of recesses 66 of the band blade 12.

In the next step, the grip part 48 of the tensioning element 44 is depressed in order to tension the band blade 12 within the transport device 10. Thereafter, the band knife 12 is released from the splitting machine 14 by the intervertebral discs 16, 18 are moved towards each other. After this release, the band blade 12 is supported by the support members 24, 26.

After removal of the transport device 10, the housing element 22 can be closed with the housing cover 58, so that the band knife 12 can be transported safely.

The invention makes it possible to implement a sharp band knife without danger to the user between different devices, for example. Between a grinding machine and a splitting machine, and to clean and sterilize a sharpened band knife. A suitable grinding machine is designed with two discs, on which a band knife can be mounted as on a splitting machine. The knife is set in motion on the grinding machine and ground.

After the grinding operation, the sharpened band knife can be removed with the transport device in the same manner as in a splitting machine and then cleaned and sterilized in the transport device. Finally, the band knife is mounted by means of the transport device on the splitting machine.

The invention opens up the possibility that the band knife no longer has to be sharpened on the splitting machine. Since the grinding process can now take place in another area or in another room and the sharp band knife can still be safely transported, it is now possible to set up sharp band knives under clean room conditions.
