Definitions
- the invention relates to an oil supply for an internal combustion engine according to the preamble of patent claim 1 and to an oil supply for a two-stroke engine according to the preamble of claim 12.
- Such an oil supply is from the DE 42 43 571 A1 known.
- a piston is reciprocable in a cylinder, whereby oil can be injected via a nozzle against the piston.
- the oil is injected from the nozzle against the running surface of the piston and distributed over there extending grooves on the circumference of the piston.
- the oil from the nozzle can be injected against the underside of the piston, ie the piston crown, to cool it.
- no jet of oil is ejected from the nozzle when the nozzle is exposed, ie, when the piston is not directly in front of the nozzle. Only after heating the engine and increasingly under load is the piston crown cooled by the oil jet.
- a lean lubrication system for a two-stroke engine in which also the lubricating oil is discharged only in the region of a contact surface between the piston and the cylinder, wherein the oil in the form of an oil aerosol is ausbringbar.
- the invention has for its object to further improve the oil supply for an internal combustion engine, on the one hand a reliable function of To ensure combustion engine by a sufficient lubrication state and on the other hand to minimize the oil consumption.
- the oil supply has an oil supply device for supplying oil to the piston, which is designed such that at least at a time when the piston is in the region of its bottom dead center, oil passes through the oil supply directly into a region below the piston crown and within the piston skirt is ausbringbar.
- the oil can be supplied in liquid form and largely without pressure.
- the oil should not be supplied with pressure and sprayed against the piston to avoid unnecessary amounts of oil. Rather, it is desirable to form if by the oil supply oil droplets near the bottom dead center of the piston, which in the further movement of the piston, for. B. be replaced by the air movement in the crankcase. In this way, an oil aerosol formation can be avoided, in which the oil with the air flow z. B. would be carried out by overflow of a two-stroke engine from the crankcase, without having made a contribution to the lubrication.
- the compact oil droplets can bounce against the piston in the further movement of the piston and thereby targeted for lubrication of the piston pin and its bearings and a piston running surface can be used.
- the oil supply device has at least one tubular element which projects from a cylinder wall or a crank chamber wall adjoining the cylinder wall into a region below the piston head, wherein the oil can be fed through the interior of the tubular element.
- the tube element With the help of the tube element, it is particularly easy to bring the oil as close as possible to the bottom of the piston or piston crown. Since the oil is conveyed only with low delivery pressure to an outlet opening of the projecting into the crankcase tube, there is no injection of the oil. The oil only swells out of the outlet opening without the surface tension being overcome by the outflow velocity. The drop of oil thus forming at the outlet opening is released from the end of the tubular element by the movement of air in the crankcase. An aerosol formation by a high outflow velocity at the outlet opening of the tubular element or by the mixing of compressed air from oil can be effectively avoided. An optionally used at the outlet opening of the tubular element nozzle should therefore be designed so that the oil is not splashed by them.
- the length of the tubular element is dimensioned such that the piston just does not touch the outlet opening of the tubular element when it reaches its bottom dead center.
- the pipe element protrudes into an area just below or even inside the piston skirt.
- the oil can be targeted in the area of the piston pin, without it being unnecessarily distributed in the crankcase on its way there.
- the oil drops are fed via one or more pipe elements and detached in the crankcase by the prevailing air flow and first passed to the piston pin to lubricate this highly stressed joint. Only then does the oil spread from here through a piston pin bore in the piston or due to the play between the piston pin and its bearings on the tread between the piston and cylinder.
- the oil swelling out of the outlet opening of the tubular element to form a drop into which a part of the piston, e.g. a part of a piston wall member or a connecting rod member, whereby the oil is either directly transferred to these moving members, or thrown selectively to a desired position due to a displacement action of the submerged member (e.g., a tip).
- a part of the piston e.g. a part of a piston wall member or a connecting rod member
- the tube element is at a preferred embodiment of the invention, based on a normal operating position of the internal combustion engine, directed upward, whereby the oil can collect on the top of the tubular element and is taken upwards.
- the oil supply device may have an oil pump that can be activated as a function of the rotational speed or load state of the internal combustion engine.
- the oil pump promotes the oil only at the times when the piston is in the region of its bottom dead center.
- the oil pump can be designed in such a way that it conveys the oil quantity required for an oil drop at the desired times. It is also possible that the oil pump intermittently promotes the oil with a predetermined by the stroke of the piston stroke to produce the oil drops intermittently, wherein an oil supply stroke should include several power strokes of the engine (strokes).
- the piston has a piston running surface which is equipped with emergency running - and / or oil reservoir layer is equipped.
- the piston running surface and thus the contact surface between the piston and cylinder is constantly supplied with oil. Rather, serving for permanent lubrication depots of the piston running surface sufficient to ensure sufficient lubrication for a sufficient period of time, without permanent oil supply.
- the oil supply is designed specifically for a two-stroke engine, wherein the tubular element penetrates a wall of the crank chamber in the vicinity of an inlet opening of at least one overflow channel.
- the provision of overflow channels in two-stroke engines is known and required to perform the function.
- the overflow channels serve to forward an air-fuel mixture or the combustion air in direct injectors from the crank chamber into a combustion chamber. Since overflow channels in more diverse Have been described manner, a more detailed representation is unnecessary at this point.
- the tubular element projects upwards into the crankcase in such a way that at least a part of the oil, which is conveyed through the interior of the tubular element in the direction of the crank pin, exits the outlet opening of the tubular element on the outside of the tubular element to the inlet opening of the Overflow channel justifywe ⁇ t. From there, the oil can either be entrained by the prevailing there flow of the air-fuel mixture in the overflow channel for wetting the walls of the overflow as a wall film or / and distributed directly on the walls of the overflow.
- an oil supply for a two-stroke engine in an oil supply for a two-stroke engine, the oil targeted by the oil supply in a range of an inlet opening of the overflow or in the overflow even deploy. An oil supply to other areas of the two-stroke engine is not required.
- an oil supply to the overflow is to ensure.
- the oil can be discharged at the inlet opening of the overflow channel and be entrained by the air flow in the overflow substantially as a wall film.
- the oil can also directly into the overflow itself, z. B. by means of a suitable pipe element or by an oil outlet in a wall of the overflow, be applied, in which case an oil application at the combustion chamber near the end of the overflow should be of particular advantage.
- the single figure shows schematically a section through a two-stroke engine.
- the invention is also suitable for other types of internal combustion engines, so in particular for a four-stroke engine without oil sump.
- crankshaft 2 In a motor housing 1, a crankshaft 2 is rotatably mounted in a known manner.
- the crankshaft 2 penetrates a crank chamber 3 provided in the engine housing 1, in which a connecting rod 4 held on the crankshaft 2 via a connecting rod bearing (not shown) also moves in a known manner.
- the conrod bearing opposite end of the connecting rod 4 carries a further connecting rod 5 a piston pin 6.
- the piston pin 6 penetrates on both sides in each case a piston pin bore 7, which is formed in a piston 8.
- the piston 8 is reciprocable in a cylinder 9, wherein there is a contact surface between the piston 8 and the cylinder 9, which is swept by a trained as a cylindrical surface of the piston 8 piston tread 10.
- a combustion chamber 11 is present in the cylinder 9, but which is not shown in detail in the figure.
- the piston 8 essentially consists of a generally disc-shaped piston head 12, which is directly adjacent to the combustion chamber 11. Starting from the piston head 12 extends - also as part of the piston 8 - a cylinder sleeve-shaped piston skirt 13 in principle, which can also be referred to as a piston skirt. In the piston skirt 13, the piston pin holes 7 are formed and the piston pin 6 is supported.
- piston skirt 13 and the piston head 12 are on the outer circumference, ie in the piston tread 10, moreover grooves 14 formed in the piston rings, not shown, for. B. trapezoidal rings are used in a known manner.
- the piston 8 has a known structure.
- the piston tread 10 should advantageously be equipped with a runflat and / or oil depot layer to minimize oil lubrication requirements for the piston tread 10.
- inlet openings 15 are formed for overflow channels 15a, which in turn open into outlet sections 15b.
- the air-fuel mixture located in the crank chamber 3 is displaced from the crank chamber 3 and conveyed through the overflow channel 15a (or through a plurality of overflow channels 15a) to the combustion chamber 11, where the air-fuel mixture in the next power stroke is ignited after re-compression by the piston 8.
- This working principle of a two-stroke engine has long been known, so that at this point a further explanation, in particular also the structure of the overflow 15a, unnecessary.
- the illustrated two-stroke engine is equipped with an oil supply according to the invention, which has, inter alia, an oil supply device for supplying oil to the piston 8.
- the oil supply device comprises two pipe elements 16, which are connected on the input side to an oil pump, not shown.
- the oil or metering pump can be used as a continuous pump (eg gear pump) or as a discontinuous pump (eg piston pump, Diaphragm pump, piezo pump or bubble jet pump) may be formed.
- the leaked oil drops in this way is replaced by the movement of air in the crank chamber 3, in particular by the movement of the piston 8, so that it strikes against the connecting rod 4 or the piston pin 6 in the further movement of the piston 8. From there, the oil is distributed z. B. on the connecting rod bearing 5 or in the piston pin holes 7 and can finally reach the outside of the piston 8, namely on the piston tread 10.
- the tube elements 16 protrude from below into the region below the piston 8, wherein they should be as far as possible that they are brought as close as possible to the piston pin 6 when the piston 8 is in its bottom dead center shown in the figure. It is particularly advantageous if the tube elements 16 even protrude into the interior of the piston skirt 13.
- the outlet openings 17 end next to the connecting rod of the connecting rod 4 approximately centrally to the connecting rod bearing 5. To avoid unnecessary oil losses in the transfer ports 15a, it is advantageous to let the ends of the tube elements 16 end as high as possible. This means that the tube elements 16 protrude as low as possible under the piston skirt 13 at the bottom dead center of the piston 8.
- a part of the oil that exits at the outlet opening 17 is not entrained by the piston 8, but flows on the outside of the tubular elements 16 back to the inlet openings 15 and thus enters the transfer channels 15a. From there, the oil can be pulled further into the overflow channels 15a by the flow of the air-fuel mixture and also reach the combustion chamber near region of the respective overflow channel 15a at its other end at the outlet cross section 15b. In this way, a coking of the overflow 15a can effectively prevent.
- the oil should be transported as oil film on the wall.
- the directed air flow in the overflow channel 15a serves as a drive means.
- the required amount of oil is not in any fixed ratio to the amount of gasoline.
- the metered amount of oil can - as has long been known - speed-dependent or promoted according to the specifications of a characteristic field. In full load case, a larger amount of oil is needed than in part load or idle case. Especially at idle, it may be possible that no oil has to be pumped at all.
- control of the pump and optionally an associated characteristic field can be stored in a processor control, which is advantageously integrated in an ignition or power supply module of the engine.
